Ever Ever After - Chapter 7
Chapter 7: Second Male Lead
The day after Ailea dismissed Cassie from her duties, Ailea saw the same man at the same spot kissing a different woman. One of his large hands lifted the woman’s skirt up, and the woman, who kissed the man back with her arm wrapped around his neck, let out a loud shriek as she felt the man’s hand digging through her fleshy garden.
Just what sort of magic was the man doing with those hands of his that made those women react like that?
‘Am I a ghost to them?’
Ailea trembled with rage.
The dignity that was cut to the ground by Lawrence started rearing its head. She couldn’t forgive the man who continued to bring women to this castle and commit never-ending salacious acts, knowing fully well that this was the castle of the woman betrothed to the Crown Prince.
That’s why when she came across the incident for the third time in a row, rather than hiding behind the tree, Ailea instead waited out in the open with a menacing look.
Not wanting the perpetrators to run away in shock from looking at her face, she donned a mask that Cassie gave her.
Her face was covered in dark splotches, though the color wasn’t as dark as to when she was about to die until eventually, the discoloration only worsened until the inside of her mouth and the whites of her eyes, too, had blackened.
By the time she faced death, her entire face looked like a black burn.
Shortly after she arrived, the man appeared again. However, he wasn’t with any other woman today. It was just himself.
Ailea blinked.
She wanted to catch the man and the woman he brought along in the act, but the plan had failed.
Slightly taken aback, she debated on whether to head back or not when the man, Clint, waved the book he was holding in one of his hands.
Smiling, he said, “Sorry. I’m practicing abstinence today.”
The nerve of the man to speak of things like “abstinence!”
Ailea looked at him incredulously. Even more so, why does that playboy have a book with him? Does he also use that to lure girls?
Ailea merely glared at him without saying a word.
Only being able to see her eyes through the mask she wore, the man scratched his head.
“Why the long face? Your name was Lorelie, right?”
“L-Lorelie…?”
“Ah, that’s not it. It’s Sara! Right? Sara? I couldn’t recognize you because of the mask.”
The nerve! The man doesn’t even remember the names of the women he met and had salacious acts with or their faces! Yet he acts like he does. What… what audacity!
Appalled, Ailea’s glare at the man only hardened.
Clint smiled an awkward smile he normally used to tempt women as he neared close to snatch their lips before hooking an arm around their waist. He was doing the same to Ailea now.
Clint tilted her so that the weight of her body would rest on his arm around her waist and lifted her mask just enough to show her lips.
Seeing his golden eyes up close, Ailea noticed that they were darker than she originally thought. A chill ran up her spine.
“Your eyes are beautiful,” he said.
It was as if her body was under a spell upon hearing that tender voice of his. Just what on earth was going on?
In Ailea’s dazed state, he kissed her on the lips.
A kiss…
Ailea was too shocked to push Clint away. He was quite skilled. Her lips, which were frozen in shock, automatically parted. The hand that was supporting her back slowly rose up to run through her hair.
Ailea finally understood why those girls made such a loud noise upon his hand playing with their womanly region. She felt as if she’d cry out just from him running his large, warm hands through her hair.
She felt as if she had become a precious existence to some.
Though she expected someone like him to reek of alcohol, she was surprised to find that he smelled of a pleasant, gentle cologne.
