Ever Ever After - Chapter 8
Chapter 8: The Second Male Lead’s Realization
At that moment, Clint grabbed a hold of her mask and threw it to the ground.
Startled, Ailea’s body began to shake. Feeling her trembling, Clint immediately let go of her and saw her black, mottled face.
Tears started to drop from her big, sky blue eyes.
Despite having made countless women cry, Clint’s eyes widened. It was a woman he didn’t know. There was no way he’d forget such a peculiar girl such as her.
“…Um?”
Before he could say anything, Ailea dashed into the castle, crying.
Ailea’s heart was tumultuous.
She couldn’t remember the last time she felt the warmth of another person for no one had ever dared to come near her. She didn’t even have the chance to have a conversation with them.
Realizing that the kiss she shared with a person who knew neither her name nor face would probably be the first and last kiss she would ever have, her heart broke into two.
To think that she was so lonely as too long for the warmth of someone that allowed a stranger to kiss…
Though she had made up her mind to overcome life with a smile, it was easier said than done.
Upon entering the bedroom, Ailea curled up on her bed and sobbed.
‘It was bad. It felt disgusting. I didn’t like it…’
The girl forcefully thought to herself that the kiss was very, very, very bad, almost like a mantra. It would be too sad if she allowed herself to think that the kiss was warm and inviting.

The architecture of Teniac was excellent, and the people took pride in it. Many of the nobles added the name of their native castle to the end of their status names. It was the same for the Crown Prince of Teniac, Lawrence Theresia de Calise.
Lawrence, who stood in front of the castle Clint lived in, wore a scowl on his face. While normally, Clint would be going around having a rendezvous with various women, these past few days, he’d been quiet and was avoiding Lawrence as of it.
“Clint, I haven’t seen you around lately,” Lawrence said.
“I’m currently abstaining as a means of self-reflection.”
“Why?”
Seeing as how Lawrence didn’t know a thing about what happened, Clint insinuated, “A few days ago, I touched a woman that I wasn’t supposed to touch.”
“Does a woman that you’re not allowed to touch even exist? Be it maiden or dame, you have your own particular way with them.”
“There are exactly three types of women that I’m not to touch, Your Highness.”
Due to the serious expression Clint put on, Lawrence couldn’t help but be curious.
He narrowed his brown eyes and asked, “So who are these women?”
“The first is a woman involved with the Imperial Family.”
“That’s a given.”
“The second woman is someone underage.”
“That’s also a given.”
“And the third is a woman who does not want me.”
Having raised three fingers for each type on the list, Clint dropped his hand and sighed again.
There weren’t many women who didn’t want Clint Risher. Though Clint wasn’t a man a woman could expect a future with, he was certainly the man perfect for a one-night-stand.
With his godly looks, tall stature, and well-built body, he was a socialite fully capable of keeping a woman up all night with laughter and pleasure.
He was born into a very wealthy family and was skilled in bed to boot.
Not a single woman who had been dragged into bed with him regretted their night spent together. It was the same with those who shared a kiss with Clint Risher.
That’s why he didn’t think much into the situation and kissed the woman who saw him at his usual place under the shaded tree, thinking that she was one of his women.
However, the masked woman looked so angry that he even broke his sacred “day of abstinence” that he kept once a month to especially give her a kiss… only to be engulfed in fear upon taking off her mask for it was not the face of a woman he knew.
It was at that moment that Clint realized that the person was Ailea Elgar Ilyanna, a person he had never met at any social gatherings was the woman engaged to the Crown Prince of Teniac, and the owner of the castle he constantly had pleasured many women at.
