Everlastingly Loving You - Chapter 109
Curious as to what Sophia meant, he decided to visit Oliver’s quarters – see what he was up to.
“Eugh,” Oliver tried not to gag, wiping a certain substance off his shirt.
Nicholas entered his quarters without bothering to knock.
He winced once he entered, “What’s that smell?”
Oliver turned around.
“That, dear brother, is the smell of vomit,” he said, his teeth gritted.
He felt like puking himself. The smell was terrid.
“Sophia took the easy way out,” he grumbled, “She didn’t even give any warnings.”
Nicholas pinched his nose.
“Just change your shirt,” he advised.
“You smell horrid,” he said in utter disgust.
“I know that, brother,” Oliver said in return.
Nicholas blinked, “Hold on, if you’re here, who’s with Clarisse?”
Oliver answered, “Sophia’s brother.”
“What was his name? Oh right, Louis.”
“Ah.”
Oliver took off his tie and rolled up his sleeves.
“Anything else you came here to ask?” He asked his brother, “Because I reek of Clarisse’s vomit and I’d like to take a shower knowing my brother isn’t in my quarters waiting for me.”
Nicholas shrugged, “No, nothing else.”
“Night,” he greeted before he left for Sophia’s quarters.
She let him in.
“I took a visit to Oliver’s quarters.”
Sophia seemed interested.
“So you must’ve heard.”
Nicholas nodded.
“Mm,” Sophia crossed her legs, already changed out of her gown and into a robe.
“That was very smart of you,” Nicholas praised.
He looked at her.
Sophia fidgeted with her robe.
“Need help?” Nicholas asked.
Sophia smiled, “Sure.”
He sat beside her, helping her with her robe.
Once he was done, he kept looking at her.
“What are you doing?”
“I just like looking at you,” Nicholas complimented.
“What did I do to deserve someone as smart and brilliant as you,” he mumbled audibly.
‘You’re perfect,’ he mumbled to himself.
‘And I’m just… me,’ he thought to himself.
Sophia watched him intently.
She wondered if he realized it was her that was lucky to have him.
“God,” he shut his eyes.
__
“You sure about this?” Sophia asked her a third time.
“It’s much too soon to come to this decision, you’ve got to rethink this, what if he does it again?” She asked worriedly.
“I’ll be fine,” Clarisse answered, adding, “Like the first and second time you asked.”
She stepped into a bulletproof car.
Sophia opened and closed her mouth. She had to do something about it.
“Just… if he hurts you again, I will kill him myself,” she said fiercely.
Clarisse laughed softly, “He won’t.”
Sophia sighed, “Of you go then.”
“Bye,” she said to Sophia.
“Bye for now,” her friend said in return.
Sophia closed the door for Clarisse.
The car drove along, and Clarisse looked back to see Sophia waving at her.
She looked back to the front and took a deep breath. She was really doing this.
She arrived at her destination shortly. She then entered the building, taking a look at her surroundings. It looked modern and chic – Blaine Corporations, although she’d question his company name choice.
She walked up to the reception desk.
“Welcome!” A pretty blonde lady greeted. She had icy blue eyes and honey blonde hair. She looked perfect.
“How can I help you?” She asked merrily.
Clarisse smiled at her.
“I’m here to see Blaine Wilson,” she answered.
The blonde lady blinked. She did a double-take. No person could walk right in and ask to see the CEO just like that. She was bold.
“Mr Wilson is a very busy man,” she explained.
“Have you made an appointment with him?” The lady asked her.
She shook her head, “No, I haven’t actually.”
“Just tell him it’s Clarisse.”
“Please,” she added.
The lady hesitated before she nodded, “Alright.”
Frankly, she didn’t think he’d actually free his schedule to talk to her. She knew he’d simply brush her off and tell her to leave.
But, she was wrong.
It wasn’t minutes later before the two ladies heard an elevator ding.
The CEO’s elevator, in particular.
Blaine quickly walked out of the elevator, looking for Clarisse.
‘She can’t actually be here, can she?’ He thought to himself.
He couldn’t believe his eyes when he saw her standing there, waiting for his arrival.
“Clarisse!” He exclaimed, walking over to her to give her a warm hug.
The receptionist herself couldn’t believe her eyes.
The CEO was never this warm with anyone.
Her gaze darted between him and her.
Who was she?
She searched up the name Clarisse, wondering if she was that well-known to be greeted such a way.
She gasped at what she found.
She read from the screen, ‘Countess Clarisse Sarah Adeline Beaumont,’ with a picture of a woman that looked identical to the lady across from her.
She covered her mouth. She was a royal, specifically a countess.
When she looked back up, Clarisse and Blaine were nowhere in sight. They’d gone up to his office, she presumed.
“What are you doing here?” Blaine asked her once they were away from everyone else.
Clarisse sputtered, “I-I j-just decided to come and visit.”
Blaine blinked.
“I can see that,” he answered in return.
He hoped she’d come to tell him that she…
He didn’t want to set those expectations before she began.
Hie private elevator dinged. They’d made it to his office.
He ushered her inside.
He knew he couldn’t rush her into making a decision, into giving them a second try.
Clarisse inhaled, “That wasn’t the only reason I came here, ‘course.”
She didn’t know how to begin.
She stared into his eyes.
“I… umm.”
‘A royal doesn’t say um, it’s undignified,’ she reminded herself.
She took interest in the floor of his office.
“I’ve decided I’m ready,” she said finally.
Blaine blinked.
Did she mean what he thought she meant?
“I’m ready to give our relationship another shot,” she elucidated.
He did a double take. That was the best news he’d heard in ages.
“That’s wonderful,” he grinned.
Clarisse stopped him, “I have a few terms.”
“Anything,” he said cheerfully.
“Alright.”
“First of, we’re taking things slow.”
“No sex.”
Blaine nodded, that was something he was fine with.
“Secondly, you’re joining me whenever I have an event to attend, that is if you’re free.”
She exhaled.
“And lastly…”
“Yes…?” Blaine raised his brow.
“No looking at someone else the way you do me,” Clarisse declared.
“Easy,” he admitted, “You are the only girl I take interest in.”
Clarisse smiled bashfully, “So it’s settled then.”
He neared her face, nuzzling her nose with his.
“It is,” he whispered.
Heat rose from her chest.
It was instinct, her heart fluttered.
More than anything, she wanted his lips on hers.
Just as she was about to pull away, their lips crashed.
He threw his arms around her, pulling her closer; she lost herself in him. His familiar and safe scent, she felt it was meant to be.
And it was just like that. The kiss was over – much too soon.
Clarisse returned to reality, she blinked rapidly. She couldn’t believe she kissed him.
“Uh… I’ve… uh, got to go, to… the restroom right now,” she said before she spun on her heel, she sprinted to the elevator, a fiery blush covering her cheeks.
“Mhm,” he said, a smile tugging at the corner of his lips. She was so freaking adorable.
She heaved a sigh of relief when the elevator doors closed on her.
She put a hand to her lips. She gasped.
“I kissed him,” she mumbled.
“I kissed him,” she repeated.
She did a double-take, “Oh god, I kissed him.”
‘Well technically you and him are in a relationship now,’ she reasoned with herself.
‘But you still kissed him,’ a voice whispered in her head.
She scoffed, “What’s Sophia’s gonna say?”
__
“How romantic,” Sophia tilted her head to the side.
She inhaled, “You’re sure this is what you want right?”
Clarisse nodded instantly, “Of course.”
“Alright then.”
“Well, if it helps, I gave him a couple of conditions to follow.”
Sophia seemed intrigued, “Do tell.”
“It’s not too difficult to follow or anything, it’s just…”
“No sex, accompanying me to every event I’ve got to attend in the future, and no looking at another girl the way he does me,” she said to Sophia, who took a while to process things.
“Now that’s a great idea,” Sophia mused.
She then went on to ask, “So, you visited his headquarters, what’s it like?”
Clarisse began telling her what it was like, and how his staff and employee were.
