Everlastingly Loving You - Chapter 117
“Louis!” She exclaimed, relieved she’d found him.
She stopped right in front of him, panting like crazy.
She was exhausted from all the running she’d done.
“What?” Louis asked.
“Why’d you come here?” He asked.
Clarisse glared at him, “Something’s happened.”
She thrust his phone into his hands.
“Here,” she said to him.
“She’ll explain,” Clarisse said to Louis.
“What do you mean, explain?” Louis asked the tired Clarisse.
“Explain what happened to him,” Clarisse answered vaguely.
Brows furrowed, Louis placed the phone beside his ear.
His eyes widened.
“WHAT?”
__
Sophia’s heart dropped once she read the text Clarisse had sent her.
“I’ve got to go,” she said to Nicholas, getting up on her feet.
She pocketed her phone.
“Go? Where?” Nicholas asked, looking all worried. He’d never seen her this worried before.
It had to do something with Julia…. Clarisse, or Louis!
“To the hospital,” Sophia answered blankly.
“Marcus was in a car accident, he’s in critical condition,” she explained quickly.
Nicholas’ eyes widened, “You’ve got to go then,” he said to her.
“I know!” She exclaimed, rushing to pick up her things and scoop them into her purse.
She was already dressed for her and Nicholas’ plans but it seemed like she had to put a stop to them, just this night.
“I’m sorry, I just–”
“We can reschedule our plans, you go be with your brother,” Nicholas said.
“If Guillermo asks about you, I’ll tell him you’re at the hospital,” he kissed her on the forehead.
Sophia managed to flash him a small smile, “Thank you,” before she rushed to the palace lobby to catch a ride to the hospital, where Clarisse and Louis already were.
A couple of hours ago…
“WHERE IS HE?”
“I’m sorry sir, but visiting hours are over, you can’t visit him,” a nurse said, guarding the doors to his suite.
“ARE YOU KIDDING ME?” Louis’ eyes went wide.
He didn’t want to pull the royal card, but it seemed like he had to.
Before he did anything irrational, Clarisse stepped in.
“I suppose he gave a list of people he allowed to visit him, yes?” She asked the nurse.
The nurse blinked.
“H-he did,” she nodded.
“Mind checking the list for the name for a Prince Louis Windsor?” She asked the nurse.
She blinked before glancing at the list.
Simply hearing the word prince made her change her mind.
She saw the name Louis Windsor on it and sighed.
“You both can enter,” she stepped to the right to let Louis and Clarisse in.
Louis asked her, “How?”
Clarisse answered, “I watch a lot of medical series these days.”
“Marcus!” Louis exclaimed once he saw him laying on the hospital bed, battered and bruised.
Marcus was unconscious and in horrible condition.
Louis looked as though his whole world had just crashed and burnt.
Well, he did since his whole world just did.
He walked over to him.
“Oh my goodness,” he looked down at him.
He caressed Marcus’ cheek and sat down.
__
“You know you didn’t have to come here,” Sophia said to Clarisse.
“You kidding? I’ve got nothing to do all day, and someone’s got to convince him to return back home.”
“I can do that, you go be with your boyfriend,” Sophia said, shooing Clarisse away.
Clarisse stared at her best friend, “My boyfriend’s in a meeting right now.”
“Oh,” Sophia said.
“Well then, just wait right here,” she ordered.
“Wait, where are you going?” Clarisse asked.
Sophia didn’t turn back, “To Marcus’ suite, duh!”
The nurse sighed at the sight of her walking towards his suite.
“I’m sorry, ma’am, you’re not allowed to be in here.”
“You’re not on the list,” she elucidated.
Sophia scoffed, “Do you not know who I am?”
“I could have you fired from your job,” she said sternly, “So let me in.”
The nurse looked terrified.
Sophia asked, “What’s your name?”
Shaking, the nurse answered, “Mia.”
“Well then, Mia, move out of the way,” Sophia ordered.
“Shoo,” Sophia said, gesturing for Mia to scram.
Mia took this as a warning and ran, off to get another nurse to care for Marcus and allow who can enter and who couldn’t.
“I hate this job sometimes,” she whispered under her breath.
Sophia watched her walk away.
A small smile formed on her face, “And there she goes.”
She entered the room.
It’d been hours later and she’d waited long enough. He likely wouldn’t leave until Marcus woke up and insisted he did.
So since Clarisse couldn’t get him to leave, Sophia was the other best option.
“Lou,” Sophia called.
She leaned on the doorframe.
“You’ve got to go back to rest,” she said.
“I’m not going to,” Louis protested.
“It’s funny you thought it was me asking you to return to the palace. It’s an order,” Sophia said sternly.
“He’s not going to wake up anytime soon, Louis.”
“That’s the harsh truth.”
“Besides, if he does wake up, I’m sure you’ll be the first person they inform.”
“So you’ll be the first person to know.”
“Now go back to the palace, go get some rest so you don’t look like a sleep-deprived panda, and then return here to wait for him to wake up!” Sophia exclaimed.
Louis pouted.
Sophia exclaimed, “G O!”
He stood up.
“Please?” He asked hopefully.
“I’ll watch him if that’d help,” Sophia said to Louis.
Louis grumbled, “It would.”
That would do for now.
“Alright then, I’ll watch him.”
“If Clarisse tells me you’re not back at the palace when I leave, I swear Louis, Ju–”
“I’ll return,” Louis promised.
“Excellent, now leave,” Sophia gestured for him to leave.
She wasn’t too keen on waiting for him, but she decided it was better her than him.
She knew her brother, he wouldn’t have budged had someone like Clarisse asked him to leave and get some rest.
Louis looked at her for a bit before he left, knowing he had no other choice except to leave.
Sophia smiled before she plopped down onto a chair and pulled out her phone.
