Everlastingly Loving You - Chapter 129
“Come on, I’ve got something to show you,” Blaine said to Clarisse.
Clarisse raised her eyebrow.
“Oh?”
“What’s there to show me?” She asked.
Blaine winked at her, “Just follow me.”
Clarisse was sceptical but followed Blaine.
They were at his headquarters – where Clarisse was all the time nowadays, what with her best friend in Sanguis and her other friend in the hospital, waiting for Marcus to wake up and busy dealing with his horrid mother.
Blaine excitedly brought Clarisse to a room.
He stared at her.
God, she was perfect.
He was head over heels for her.
And frankly, if he was honest, he couldn’t imagine his life without her, so this was simply his way of showing to her how much he loved her.
“What’s behind this door is…”
Blaine paused.
“I just think you’ll like it.”
He noticed her biting her lip.
“You’re biting your lip, that thing you do whenever you’re worried,” he said, smiling.
“You shouldn’t be,” he reassured as though he was reading her mind, “Besides, I’m not proposing.”
Clarisse blinked, “You’re not?”
Blaine tilted his head to the side, “Do you want to see what’s behind this door, or not?”
She nodded, “Of course I do.”
He grinned at her before he unlocked and opened the door to reveal a huge, dark room.
Clarisse found herself confused.
He ushered her inside, before shutting the door behind him and locking both him and her in.
Was she meant to have a bad feeling about this?
‘You’re not going to blindfold me… are you?’ She mumbled.
Clarisse found herself being blindfolded by her boyfriend.
A shiver went up her spine.
Shit went kinky real fast.
“What are you going to do?” She asked him.
She was sceptical. Extremely sceptical.
She felt the wind brush past her shoulder.
Her bare, exposed shoulder.
“I’m really confused as to what you’re going to do,” she admitted to him.
He ordered, “Just… lie down.”
“Lie down and let me do all the work,” he said enticingly.
An hour or so later…
Blaine’s secretary ran through the halls, looking for her boss.
She nearly busted down the room door.
The door swung open.
She gasped, covering her eyes as soon as she saw what she’d walked in to.
She’d only been trying to do her job right; she’d been tasked to find him only to walk in on him and his girlfriend.
“S-sir,” she sputtered.
“I’ll just come back later,” she said, unable to form a coherent sentence.
It wasn’t too bad, what she saw, but that didn’t make things less… awkward.
She took one step back.
He was massaging her.
Thank goodness it wasn’t something else.
Oh, thank god it wasn’t worst.
It would be horrible if she had walked in on them… the mere thought made her wince.
“I’m occupied right now, Anna,” Blaine said nonchalantly.
“Meet me at my office later on,” he said in a hushed voice.
__
Louis sat beside Marcus, waiting for him.
It hadn’t been long he’d been waiting for Marcus to wake up, but he hoped for something to happen.
He fidgeted with his hands that were on Marcus’ bed.
He felt something brush his hand.
His eyes shot wide open.
Marcus was trying to open one eye.
“Oh my god,” his heart dropped.
“Y-you’re conscious.”
“You’re awake.”
He realized Marcus hadn’t said a word.
He squeezed Marcus’ hand.
One of the symptoms of the surgery was trouble with speech.
“If you’re okay, talk to me.”
He reasoned, “Say a word.”
“Any word,” he said.
“Please?” He begged.
He squeezed Marcus’ hand tighter.
Marcus remained silent.
He looked as though he was trying hard to speak.
Hope fluttered in Louis’ stomach.
‘Please speak, please speak, please speak,’ Louis pleaded.
‘Say anything, it could be an insult for all I care, just talk to me,’ he said.
He gave Marcus a pleading look.
“Anything, please,” he begged.
Marcus shut his eyes, wincing.
“Ow,” he complained.
“It hurts.”
A small smile formed on Louis’ face.
“You’re okay.”
“You’re okay!” He exclaimed, jumping up with joy.
“Oh my goodness, you’re okay!”
Marcus let out a hoarse laugh.
“I have a tube up my nose,” he said to him.
“How long was I out?” He asked Louis.
Louis answered, “That’s not really important.”
He inhaled, his hand touching his pocket.
“Hm?” Marcus looked at him.
Louis didn’t know how to break it to him.
“I have something I want to tell you,” he said to Marcus.
Marcus’ eyes flashed in panic.
“You’re not leaving me are you?” Marcus asked Louis.
“Because if you are, please don’t,” Marcus pleaded.
Louis blinked, “I’m not leaving you.”
“It’s far from leaving you,” Louis admitted.
“I swear to you it is,” he promised.
He squeezed Marcus’ hand – gently this time.
“I just wanted to ask you something,” Louis said to him.
He propped up Marcus with a couple of pillows.
He took a couple of deep breaths – extremely nervous.
He wondered what’d Marcus say about it?
“Marcus,” Louis began.
“I know this isn’t romantic.”
“And that this is one of the last places I should be asking you this…”
“But…”
“Whenever I think of you, I see our future together.”
“I know we haven’t gotten far, but…”
“It makes me ask the question, why the hell not?”
“You’re the only person I want to do it with.”
“So Marcus, will you be mine?”
“Will you be my boyfriend?” Louis asked hopefully, waiting for a reply in anticipation.
Marcus did a double take.
He was taken aback.
He purposely kept quiet to annoy Louis.
He knew Louis could be extremely impatient at times – he found it amusing.
He knew his answer.
Louis was the only person he cared about.
The word, ‘Yes’ was imprinted in his brain.
He kept quiet, staring at him.
Louis had first thought it had something with the tube up Marcus’ nose, or the tubes connected to his body, did he feel uncomfortable?
Did he feel awkward?
Was he trying to get out of an awkward situation by using the excuse of him having just woken up from unconsciousness?
Louis had all types of ideas in his head.
They swirled around, each of them making less and less sense the more time Marcus kept quiet.
A smile began making its way to Marcus’ face.
Louis found his handsome, even whilst he was wearing a hospital gown and stuck to a bed, connected to all sorts of tubes and wires.
“Please don’t leave me in the dark like this,” Louis said to Marcus.
“You know I’m impatient,” Louis pouted.
Marcus’ grin only widened.
‘Yes,’ he said quietly.
“What did you say?” Louis asked.
Marcus spoke louder than he did before, “I said yes.”
Louis slapped his hand over his mouth.
He never thought Marcus would actually say yes.
“You said yes,” he mumbled.
He said with astonishment and awe in his eyes, “You said yes!”
Louis chuckled, “If you weren’t connected to tubes and wires I would’ve picked you up and spun you around.”
Marcus narrowed his eyes and scoffed, “You wouldn’t go three seconds without dropping me onto the ground.”
Louis laughed softly.
“You’re right.”
“But that doesn’t make me want to do it any less,” he said to Marcus.
Louis bit his lip, thinking of something.
“Now that you said yes though…”
“I should get used to calling you mine instead of Marcus, or loser,” Louis said to Marcus cheekily.
Marcus smirked, “Of course.”
He read Louis’ mind, “And once we get to get discharged from the hospital, we’re celebrating.”
Louis agreed, “We so are.”
The both of them grinned dreamily.
“So you feel perfectly fine?” Louis questioned.
Marcus nodded.
“Not feeling any pain anywhere?” Louis asked next.
Marcus nodded once more.
Louis placed a kiss on Marcus’ forehead.
“Right. I’ll get a medical professional to check up on you,” Louis said, it was something he should’ve done at the start.
He was at the threshold before he whirled around.
“Oh, and babe?”
Marcus looked up.
“Your mother’s here,” Louis informed.
All the colour drained from Marcus’ face.
“She’s here?” Marcus asked him, seeking confirmation.
Louis nodded.
“Oh shit,” Marcus cursed aloud.
He stared at Louis pitifully.
“How long did you have to deal with her?”
Louis answered, “For about a week.”
Marcus looked horrified.
“So you’ve met my mother,” he said dejectedly.
He felt sorry for Louis.
There was a good reason he and his mother were estranged.
She was a dreadful woman. Not that she didn’t love him, it was just that… she’d go to great lengths for him, in the worst way possible.
Louis reassured him, “She was relatively fine.”
“Want to see her?” He offered.
Marcus knew she’d see him anyway once she heard he was awake so he nodded.
Louis made a mental note to inform one of the nurses before telling Eleanor her son was awake.
This was a moment of celebration!
He and Marcus were dating! Why wouldn’t be happier than ever?
