Everlastingly Loving You - Chapter 130
“There’s nothing else we can tell you sir.”
“It was a miracle he woke up this soon, and without any symptoms,” the nurse said to him, looking just as surprised as he was.
Louis had thought this was too good to be true – that their had to be some downfall to this.
It turned out he was wrong.
“And you’re a hundred percent certain?” He asked the nurse in charge of Marcus.
She nodded.
“I am.”
“Have you made sure?” Louis asked nervously.
“What does his doctor have to say?”
The nurse stared at him.
“Sir, if I brought the doctor over he’d have the same things to say,” she explained calmly.
“There’s no explanation to this, but you shouldn’t be too worried,” she assured.
“There are simply some miracles in medicine that can’t be explained,” she added.
Louis pursed his lips, “I suppose so.”
She curtsied before she left.
Louis stared at the suite. Eleanor and Marcus were in there together.
He knew better than to barge in the suite mid-conversation – Eleanor wouldn’t take that well.
But, he was relieved.
Marcus was okay.
No, not Marcus.
His boyfriend.
His boyfriend was okay.
He couldn’t believe Marcus had said yes to him.
Marcus said yes!
Louis took his phone out from his pocket.
He called Sophia first.
Sophia answered, “Louis?”
“He said yes,” Louis said, still processing things.
“Excuse me?” Sophia said confusedly.
“Are you drunk?” She asked him.
Louis blinked.
“I’m not,” he said, speaking in a monotone.
“Well you sound like you are,” Sophia said to him.
“So, why the sudden call? What’s up?”
Louis inhaled, “I have a boyfriend.”
“Marcus said yes to me.”
“He’s my boyfriend now,” he said.
“You’re so drunk right now,” Sophia mumbled.
“I heard that!” Louis exclaimed.
He crossed his left arm.
“I’m not drunk, I swear!” Louis swore.
“Then what are you doing talking to me?” Sophia asked him.
“Quit talking to me and just go celebrate!” She exclaimed.
“I-I just wanted to tell you,” Louis pouted.
“You could’ve told me you have a boyfriend after you… you know, celebrated it with him and all that,” Sophia said.
“Go!” She exclaimed before hanging up abruptly.
Louis blinked.
Eleanor still hadn’t left Marcus’ suite.
He decided to call Clarisse next to tell her the good news.
He dialed her number.
“Louis?” Clarisse asked.
“What happened?” She asked immediately, sounding worried.
“Nothing,” Louis assured, “Nothing bad at the very least.”
“Then why are you calling?” Clarisse asked confusedly.
Why else would he be calling if not to inform her of bad news?
Louis sighed exasperatedly, “Claire, I’m not calling you to tell you something happened to Marcus.”
“I’m telling you that… I proposed to him.”
“You what?!” Clarisse asked.
She was close to having a heart attach right then and there.
She began, “Marriage at this point is too soon, Lou-”
Louis stopped her.
“Not that kind of proposal!” He corrected.
“Oh,” Clarisse said, realization striking her in the head.
“OH!”
A huge smirk formed on her face.
“Congratulations, Lou,” she said.
“Welcome to the taken club,” she said, chuckling.
Louis smiled, “Glad to be here.”
“So, Marcus is awake and doing well?” Clarisse asked him.
Louis nodded – even though Clarisse couldn’t see him. They were merely calling on the phone.
“He is,” Louis said, grinning from ear to ear.
He was a ball of happiness.
“I’m glad you finally proposed,” Clarisse mused.
“And I’m glad he’s okay,” she added.
“So… why are you calling me and not hanging out with your boyfriend?” She asked.
A wince formed on Louis’ features.
“His mother’s in the suite with him,” he answered.
It was Clarisse’s turn to wince.
“Oh my.”
“Good luck,” she said, sounding terrified.
“You’ve dealt with the boyfriend proposing part, now it’s time for his mother,” she muttered.
“Go and make me proud,” Clarisse said, seconds away from pressing the end call button.
“Wait, don’t just leave me here, hanging–”
The call ended, Clarisse had hung up.
Louis pocketed his phone.
He groaned.
“Why do women have a habit of hanging up whenever they call me?” He asked no one in particular.
Then, out of nowhere, his phone rang.
‘Who’s calling me?’ Louis wondered.
He picked up his phone.
“Hello…?” He asked.
“So, I heard you’ve finally gotten yourself a boyfriend,” a woman said to him.
He furrowed his brows.
“Grandmere?”
“How did you learn of this so quickly?” He asked.
It was minutes before he’d been calling with his sister. It wasn’t possible for her to learn of his proposal in a matter of minutes… or was it?
“Darling,” Julia began.
“You know me.”
“I know everything.”
“Especially what’s going on in that hospital,” Julia said.
“And it’s not a surprise you decided to ask him to be yours.”
“You wouldn’t simply wait for someone to wake up from a coma unless they meant something to you,” she said, pointing out the obvious.
Louis realized she had a point.
It was quite obvious.
How wouldn’t it be?
“I simply decided to call you to congratulate you,” Julia assured.
“No other reasons in mind,” she admitted truthfully.
“So…”
“You’ve met Eleanor?” She asked.
Louis blinked. Oh right, Eleanor.
He’d forgotten grandmere and Eleanor were friends.
“I have,” he said bitterly.
He heard Julia laugh from the other side of the phone.
“Poor you,” she said.
“Come again?” Louis asked.
“Gosh, meeting Eleanor like this.”
“You must’ve gotten a horrible first impression of her,” Julia said to him.
“She isn’t usually like this – she’s usually cheerful and joyous,” Julia added.
Louis was taken aback.
Cheerful?
Joyous?!
Eleanor was capable of being cheerful AND joyous?
“Are we talking about the same person?” Louis asked Julia in pure confusion.
The same person who threw vases to the floor when pissed and screamed at nurses at the slightest bit of problems?
There had to be a mistake.
Julia raised her brow, “She can also be passionate at times.”
“She’s a childhood friend, darling,” she said to Louis.
Louis was even more shocked.
Julia and Eleanor… childhood friends?
He was now beginning to doubt him and Marcus’ meeting was pure coincidence.
Julia always had to do with it.
Breaking the silence, Julia asked, “You must be getting suspicious, no?”
“The coincidences…”
“Me and Eleanor being dear friends.”
“Of course, I must say we are polar opposites.”
“Eleanor can get a tad bit passionate when it comes to those she cares about – her family especially.”
Louis blinked.
He did a double take.
A tad bit?

“What about a trip to the beach,” Nicholas suggested.
“The beach?” Sophia asked, raising her brow.
A smirk formed on his face.
“Yes, the beach.”
Nicholas trailed on, “You, me, golden-warm sand, rays of sunshine and calm turquoise waters…”
Sophia smiled, “Oh?”
“Well…”
“Since we have nothing else to do… why not?” She asked cheekily.
“Let’s go,” she declared.
“Just as soon as I figure out what to wear, of course,” she added.
Nicholas told her, “No one but us will be there.”
Sophia who’d made her way to her walk-in closet said to him, “It doesn’t matter.”
“I make it a point to look fabulous 24/7.”
Nicholas said, “There’s no need to when you already do look fabulous all the time.”
“That won’t change my mind,” Sophia said.
Nicholas pouted. He’d tried.
“I’ll be going now,” he said to her.
They exchanged goodbyes and Nicholas went his way.
He had a jump to each step he made.
Their first trip to the beach.
What a momentous occasion.
“Someone’s in a joyous mood,” Oliver noticed.
“Of course I am, me and my girlfriend are heading to the beach,” Nicholas said, beaming.
Oliver narrowed his eyes.
Nicholas said in an attempt to console him, “I’d invite you to come with us if you had someone to go with.”
Oliver glared at his brother. Way to remind him he was single.
“You don’t get to call me out for choosing to be single.”
Nicholas raised his brow.
“Did you choose to be single or you didn’t have any other choice but to be?” He asked.
“That’s not funny,” Oliver said, watching as his elder brother laughed to his own joke.
“Not to you it isn’t,” Nicholas said, savouring the moment.
He stared at his elder brother.
Things were going splendidly for him.
He had a girlfriend who loved him unconditionally, a little sister who adored him more than she did her own parents and managed to befriend other royals, one of which happened to be the woman he himself loved secretly.
If that wasn’t splendid he didn’t know what was.
He knew it was unfair for him to be thinking of things this way.
Who knew, in time he’d find someone… but he couldn’t get her off his mind.
She was the first and last thing he’d think of every day.
Every woman he came across reminded him of her, especially Sophia.
And what was most worse out of all of this was how he wondered how life would’ve been like had Clarisse never taken Blaine back in the first place.
