Evil Lady: My Hubby is a Traitor - C2
Chapter 2 – Assassination of the New Room
The night was dark and the autumn wind was blowing in the water.
Inside the bridal chamber, a pair of red candles illuminated the lonely bridal chamber. The bride was already resting on the bed.
In front of the bed, beside the red embroidered shoes, was the rooster with the red rope tied to its feet. The other end of the red rope was tied to the foot of the bed to prevent the rooster from running away.
On the wedding night, the bride and the rooster at the nuptial hall shared a spring dinner.
Yun Qianliang who was on the bed turned her body, opened her sleepless eyes, and looked at the rooster who had acknowledged her.
“I told you to stay in the new house to peck bastards, but you fell asleep first.” Yun Qianliang pulled on his blanket and continued to brew his sleepiness.
Yun Qianliang didn’t know that the bastard he was talking about was sitting on the roof of the new house and listening to her every word.
The autumn night was cold and the moonlight was waning.
Ever since nightfall, Gu Wuchen had been drinking and enjoying the moonlight on the roof. He was dressed in dark silk clothes, and if not for the moonlight which shone on him, he would have seemed to be submerged in darkness, making him hard to see.
There was quite a bit of atmosphere when it came to Yue Qian.
As if he was tired, Gu Wuchen reclined on the ground, patiently waiting for a guest at night.
“Master, the night is cold.” Gu San appeared on the roof with a cape.
Gu Wuchen finished the alcohol in his cup, his eyes glimmering as he stared at the assassin who was disguised as a servant and sneaked into the Green Pine Academy.
When it came to bestowing marriages, he would shirk everything to avoid them. Helpless, he was forced to accept the imperial edict bestowing marriages.
On the day of the wedding, someone was sent to entangle him, preventing him from making an appearance. The onlookers must have thought that he was making things difficult for Yun Qianliang.
If Yun Qianliang died in her bridal room on the night of the wedding, the imperial court would definitely cause a commotion tomorrow. They believed that he had killed someone because she disliked Yun Qianliang, so they wanted to use this to suppress his power.
Yun Qianliang had only sent a scapegoat over to harm him.
For the sake of grand plans, the Right Premier had been overly generous this time.
Yun Qianliang who had been unable to sleep suddenly calmed down and listened for the sound outside, and frowned.
Yun Qianliang gently lifted the blanket and moved the bed that had shoes placed on it away. She moved her feet back, and after she went in, he put the bed back and laid on the bed with her breath lowered.
Just as Yun Qianliang was putting the bed down, she heard the sound of swords clashing outside. Soon after, the faint sound of the door opening.
The other person purposefully took light steps and slowly approached the bed.
Through the gap, he saw a pair of legs wearing night clothes as they cautiously moved forward.
As he approached the bed, he saw that there seemed to be no one under the red curtain. He quickly walked over to the bed and stepped on it. Then, he flipped open the red book.
The rooster sleeping at the foot of the bed was suddenly awakened by a loud noise. Its opponent’s sword was right beside it, and as if it sensed the approaching danger, it began to cry out, wanting to run away. Unfortunately, the red rope on its feet was tied to the leg of the bed, so it could only flop around blindly.
Yun Qianliang was speechless when she heard the noise.
Chicken, long snacks.
Attracting the attention of an assassin, aren’t you intentionally courting death?
Indeed, in the next moment, the assassin’s sword struck the ground and the sound came to an abrupt stop. The rooster’s head fell to the ground, and the fresh blood that flew out scattered all over the ground in an orderly manner.
Yun Qianliang swallowed her saliva, and covered her neck.
His swordplay was sharp and swift.
Then the assassin’s foot moved on the foot of the bed and he stepped off the floor.
Yun Qianliang secretly heaved a sigh of relief, and her hanging heart gradually relaxed.
The assassin stopped in his tracks, and his gaze fell upon the red embroidered shoes on the bed. Killing intent surfaced in his eyes.
Yun Qianliang could only cast light and shadows to deduce the assassin’s movements. Upon discovering that she was bent over, Yun Qianliang’s heart which had yet to return to its original position immediately rose to his throat. She pursed his lips tightly, and held his breath.
The silver sword pierced through unexpectedly, only a finger’s distance away from Yun Qianliang.
Yun Qianliang’s eyes turned as she stared at the silver sword, her heart thundering.
She only felt that the sword at her side was a silver snake, baring its fangs at her, ready to pounce and bite her at any moment.
The silver sword moved, Yun Qianliang moved to the side, but as long as the assassin quickly swept his sword across, she would not be able to dodge in this narrow space.
With a meow, why does it feel like she’s found a adulterer?
In the middle of the night, he raised his sword and barged in. It was a classic rape scene.
Just as the silver sword was about to stab under the bed, the sound of the sword slashing through the air rang out. The assassin immediately drew his silver sword back, turning around to face his enemy.
The Gu San’s long sword pierced straight towards the heart from the back. The assassin retracted the silver sword and turned around to block, his figure turning to dodge the attack, following that, the silver sword rustled and struck towards Gu San’s face.
Gu San’s figure lightly swayed, easily dodging the attack, his long sword wrapping around the silver sword.
Yun Qianliang lied under the bed, only hearing the sound of weapons colliding, the assassin and those who saved her did not make a sound, as though they were afraid that the sound would reveal their identity.
After a long while, the clashing of swords and sabers grew weaker. The Qi on one side of the room grew heavy, followed by the sound of breaking windows.
The previous assassin had left, but others had stayed behind in the bridal chamber.
Yun Qianliang saw the blood dripping sword coming towards her through the crack in the wall. His fingers tightened and he even forgot to hold a hand to her neck.
“Come out.”
Yun Qianliang did not go out, and continued to carefully hide under the bed.
Gu Wuchen did not like this marriage, but it just so happened that assassins would barge into the House of Zuo tonight. Gu Wuchen had sent people to kill her, and then pushed the blame onto the assassins, claiming that they could get rid of his before they could even save her.
She was very clear that the assassin tonight was not coming for Gu Wuchen.
Tonight’s matter made her understand even more that this marriage was for the sake of this assassination.
Yun Qianliang was the noble daughter of the Emperor that was bestowed the marriage with the Minister of the Left, regardless of whetherhee was doted on or not, she was still a direct daughter of the Right Prime Minister’s Hall. If he died in his bridal chamber on the night of the wedding, it would be hard for him to escape from his clutches, regardless of whether she was related to Gu Wuchen or not.
Even if the crime didn’t cost him his life, at least it would cost him something.
She was reduced to a dead end in the face of the struggles of the various powers!
And the person who set up this plot might be the Emperor, or it might even be the Jin Wang, or even the Yun Xiang Mansion!
Yun Qianliang’s brain had a string that was stretched taut. Without using any strength, just a light tug would be enough to break it.
Gu San saw that there was no movement under the bed and turned to walk into the new room.
“The Lord Prime Minister has fled.” Gu San looked at the people in the courtyard who were gracefully wiping the flexible swords, and reported respectfully.
“No problem.” Gu Yicheng threw away the handkerchief stained with blood, turned and looked at the new house filled with red silk, then walked over to another building, “Send two guards to protect my wife.”
“To what extent does a guard’s martial arts need to be?” Gu San asked.
Gu Yicheng scratched his chin and thought, “As long as he doesn’t die, it’s fine.”
He had long heard of Yun Qianliang and Song Shujin’s matters.
Previously, it was all because of Song Shujin and her Concubinage Sister that he committed suicide. However, ever since the marriage decree was given, Yun Qianliang did not make any move.
He was mocked by the crowd today, and was not as angry as he was in the past. He couldn’t help but make people doubt her motive for entering the Gu Xiangfu, and to be able to protect her from dying, he had done his best.
The surroundings fell into silence. The red candle swayed in the wind coming from outside the door, and the light and shadow on the ground flickered.
Yun Qianliang slowly pushed away from the bed and came out.
The rooster’s body was not cleaned up, and there was still some blood left on the ground. He took in a deep breath of cold air, and the smell of blood entered his nose.
Yun Qianliang was wrapped in a blanket and sat on the edge of the bed with her legs crossed. She looked at the blood on the ground and felt her heart clogging up.
In the face of assassination, this weak body didn’t even have the ability to defend itself other than a little bit of strength.
Tonight, Gu Yicheng had decided to hook her up for benefits and saved her life.
If she were to get out of such a situation one day, she would not be as lucky as she was today when someone else wanted her dead.
In this one of the Four Joy Nights, Yun Qianliang sat alone until daybreak.
