Evil Lady: My Hubby is a Traitor - C33
Chapter 33 – Activities in the night
The flowers in the courtyard were planted by Lu Yao. Over the years, the gardener had come to the courtyard several times, and Qin family had mentioned many times that he would like to regrow some flowers for the Xiao Sheng Yuan. However, Yun Qianliang always rejected him.
This was the shadow of Lu Yao that was the only thing that could be found within the Yun Xiang Mansion.
Yun Qianliang led her people through the courtyard and arrived at the backyard. Her throat felt uncomfortable, and she only told Gu Yicheng a few important places.
Yesterday, when he found out that Gu Yicheng would bring her back, Yun Qinan still sent people to clean the courtyard, and the servants had already moved their things into Xiao Sheng Yuan, while Qiu Yue brought his people to pass on the gifts, of which only Chun Hua was waiting for.
Chun Hua squatted on the roof and smelled a pot of ginger tea using the stove. When she saw his master come in, he stood up to welcome him.
After entering the room, the warmth came again. Yun Qianliang took the outer garment away and passed it back to Gu Yicheng, who put it back on.
After that, Chun Hua carried the teapot and entered the house. Seeing that the outer garment had returned to the original owner’s body, she walked towards her without batting an eyelid.
“Madam, please drink some ginger tea to warm your body and not catch a cold.” Chun Hua poured a cup of hot ginger tea and placed it in front of Master. Then, she hesitantly looked at the man sitting on the side, who was sizing up Xiao Sheng Yuan. due to etiquette, she unwillingly asked: “Master, do you want a drink?”
“Madame has caught a bit of cold, please prepare some for her.” Gu Yicheng waved his hand.
“Indeed, I feel a bit uncomfortable. You must be careful.” Yun Qianliang held his teacup, and stared at the hot air.
“When Madam was still in Yun Xiang Mansion, she didn’t like Jiang garlic.” Chun Hua replied sullenly, looking a little like she was deliberately competing with him.
Gu Yicheng glanced at the servant who held hostility towards him, and then looked at Yun Qianliang.
Yun Qianliang raised the corner of his mouth and nodded as she admitted it.
Indeed, she didn’t like Jiang Ya, or perhaps it should be said that she actually disliked the taste of Jiang Ya.
In the past, due to her special status, she could not have weaknesses. She had been forced to eat before.
Yun Qianliang picked up the ginger tea, blew his red lips lightly, and then slowly drank it all. He didn’t even frown.
Chun Hua watched her master finish her wine and not fill her up again.
Because no one in Gu Xiangfu would care about her preferences, they had to eat them whether they liked her or not, forcing them to accept things they disliked calmly. The more indifferent their master was, the more Chun Hua cared about his master’s situation.
“Chun Hua, bring the furnace inside.” The warmth that came from when Yun Qianliang first came back, disappeared after she sat for a while. It was as if a gust of wind had entered her back, making him feel cool.
Chun Hua brought the furnace in, and Yun Qianliang moved a small stool over to sit on it. She stared at the burning coal in the stove and spoke out lazily, raising a serious question.
“In these days in Yun Xiang Mansion, how do I live?” Yun Qianliang placed his hands on his knees, placed his head on his arms, and tilted his head to look at Gu Yicheng, “Although we have been married for a long time, and are considered a loving couple to outsiders, but in reality, we have never fallen asleep together. In Gu Xiangfu, even without a servant, we are not allowed to enter.
“There’s always a first time.” Gu Yicheng was unaffected by the sudden change of events.
Yun Qianliang snorted, extended his hand out, made a hand gesture of counting money, and opened her palm.
“You still have to pay for this?” Gu Yicheng frowned slightly.
What did she think she was?
“You still want me to …” Yun Qianliang suddenly stood up, halfway through her words, her head suddenly felt dizzy, the scene in front of her eyes seemed to be spinning, in that moment, she could hear people talking, but she could not hear them clearly.
Gu Yicheng quickly stood up and supported the person who was heading towards the furnace.
The round stool in front of the table fell to the ground, rolled twice, and was stopped at the table leg.
Yun Qianliang leaned against him for a while, the dizziness in her head gradually receded, and the feeling of it slowly returned.
“You have a fever.” Gu Yicheng touched her forehead and solemnly told her.
Yun Qianliang raised her hand to distance herself from the two of them, as she took half a step back to pull the distance between them.
“It’s fine. I just need to rest for a while.” Yun Qianliang walked in, “Go ahead.”
It was late autumn and the night was quiet. There were a few stars scattered above his head.
The silence in Yun Xiang Mansion was suddenly broken as candles and flames lit up one after another, followed by sounds.
Outside of the Xiao Sheng Yuan’s door, Gu Shisan and Gu Shisi stopped the butler and bodyguards of the Yun Xiang Mansion. Both parties had their own opinions and the atmosphere became tense.
“Yun Xiang Mansion is making trouble for the assassins. Prime Minister is worried for Eldest Miss and Young Master’s safety and has sent us here to protect you. Isn’t it shameful for Imperial Guard Gu to stop us like this? Can we not go in to protect you?” The Housekeeper Liu relied on his numbers and his words were not inferior to others. His despicable appearance made people disgusted.
“The guards of the Gu family will naturally protect the safety of my master and his wife. It is not up to you, a steward, to insist that we are capable. How can you allow yourself to slander my master?” The sword that Gu Shisan was using to face the door did not move at all, it was so threatening that it stood right in front of him.
“This is the Yun Xiang Mansion!” The Housekeeper Liu warned.
Yun Qianliang was unconscious, but he was struggling within the nightmare. Her ears were sensitive to sound, and the quarrels outside stimulated her drowsy consciousness, pulling his back from her nightmare.
Yun Qianliang opened his sleepy eyes and frowned. He then heard the window of his room being gently pushed open and two figures entering through it. The air was still filled with the smell of blood, which caused Yun Qianliang’s frown to deepen.
Both of them quickly took off their night clothes as they entered the room.
After changing into his regular clothes, Gu Yicheng walked towards the bedside, raised the green cloth covering the bed and prepared to pretend to be taking care of someone. Just as he lifted the corner, he saw that under the dim candlelight, the beautiful person was staring at him with wide open eyes.
“I woke up just in time to get rid of the people outside.” Gu Yicheng’s hand merely paused for a moment, and continued his actions.
Yun Qianliang stared at him for a long time before lifting up his body and stepping off the bed.
“If you’re in a hurry for something like that, you can tell me.” Yun Qianliang’s voice still carried a sickly hoarseness and weakness, but from her mouth, it was filled with coldness and indifference, like a frozen lake in the middle of winter, so cold that not a trace of emotion could be heard.
Since she had promised to do it, her illness could not be a reason for suspending her mission.
Yun Qianliang’s eyes looked at Gu San who was carrying a bag of clothes with him, her gaze landed on Gu San who was bleeding profusely, there was a line of blood on her left arm, it was inconspicuous under the dark color of the clothes, but it could not be concealed from the people who wanted to investigate.
Yun Qianliang walked in front of the dressing mirror and opened the cabinet on the right. She took out the black needle and thread, and casually took out a box of rouge.
“Give me the package.” Yun Qianliang’s words were unquestionable.
Gu San looked at Master who was standing beside the bed. Seeing him nod his head, he then handed over the package.
Yun Qianliang opened the package and poured the rouge onto the bloodstained night attire. He used the rouge to suck the blood, and used the scent to cover the smell of blood. Then, she spread out the bag and sewed two stitches into the corners of the bag.
“Pick up the needle.” Yun Qianliang pointed to the darker roof behind the bed.
Seeing that Yun Qianliang had finished explaining, the two of them went over to the screen to grab the capes on it, and without giving them any chance to reject, the two of them accepted their orders and took care of two corners, and then threw the four needles onto the roof. The black cloth bag was placed on the wooden board, and added to that, after looking at it carefully, it did not seem like there was any problem.
Yun Qianliang put on the cloak, and the way the two of them looked at her was already different from before. The former was interested, while the latter was surprised.
“Sorry.” Yun Qianliang walked to the front of Gu San and apologized coldly. He then pulled out the sword from Gu San’s body and slashed at his left arm that was drenched in blood, then she threw all the teapots in the room to the ground and roared, “Useless.”
Yun Qianliang’s voice rang out in the Xiao Sheng Yuan and everyone facing each other outside the courtyard were stunned.
Chun Hua and Qiu Yue came out to serve him quickly, only to see Yun Qianliang coming out angrily. She was still holding onto the sword that had cut Gu San, and he walked out angrily, which caused people to be afraid.
“Miss, what is this about?” Chun Hua naturally greeted her as she was in a rush.
“Scram.” Yun Qianliang swept the place with her cold eyes, looking extremely intimidating.
Gu Yicheng and Gu San were in the room, looking at each other, they stared at the sword wound, which completely overlapped with the injury they had suffered earlier, and did not deviate at all.
“This prime minister’s wife is truly astonishing.” The light in Gu Yicheng’s eyes was dark and undefined, his mouth was curled up sinisterly, and after he finished speaking, he changed into a worried expression and followed him out.
Yun Qianliang raised her sword and walked out, the anger and impatience in her eyes could be felt from far away.
“Try again!” Yun Qianliang stood inside the courtyard, the sword in her hand was pointed at Housekeeper Liu’s right eye, a cold light shooting out of his eyes. In this broken night, her hoarse voice actually made people feel an endless amount of killing intent.
“Qian Qian, don’t be angry.” Gu Yicheng went up to coax them, and turned to give the Gu San a sinister warning: “The next time you anger the Madam, I will personally take action!”
“Gu San knows his wrongs.” Gu San kneeled on one knee, clutching the wound on his left arm, admitting his mistake.
“I’m not angry anymore, I’ll get someone to change the pot of tea.” Gu Yicheng explained the reason behind this “tragedy”
“For the sake of the prime minister, I’ll let you off this time.” She threw the sword in her hand next to Gu San’s feet.
Gu San picked up the sword and sheathed it back into its sheath. “Thank you Madam for your kindness.”
Yun Qianliang coldly snorted as she turned her head to look at the Housekeeper Liu and the guards outside the door. “Housekeeper Liu brought a group of guards to my Xiao Sheng Yuan in the middle of the night.
Housekeeper Liu was so frightened by the scene that his legs went limp. He was barely able to stand after being supported by someone.
Hearing that, the Housekeeper Liu did not dare act rashly again. Pushing away the two people who were supporting him, he stepped forward and bowed.
“Reporting to Eldest Miss, the mansion is making trouble for the assassins. Master is worried about the safety of you and Gu Xiang, let us look for the assassins to see if they have broken into the Xiao Sheng Yuan, and also stay to protect Eldest Miss and Gu Xiang.”
