Evil Lady: My Hubby is a Traitor - C5
Chapter 5 – Acceptance of authority for purposes
The autumn wind was beautiful, and in the warm sunshine, Yun Qianliang finally stepped out of the Green Pine Academy.
He strolled along the road, familiarizing himself with the layout of the residence.
All along the way,’s servants ignored her, and after she walked past, they whispered behind her back, as if she had done some shameful thing that would cause anyone who saw her to lose all face.
Chun Hua and Qiu Yue were annoyed along the way, but Yun Qianliang herself was indifferent to the scenery of the Gu Xiangfu.
On the other hand, the Gu Xiangfu was the complete opposite. The garden was planted with ordinary flowers and they were even like wild flowers on the side of the road, they were completely unknown.
The only thing that could be considered as expensive was the nine-fold veranda above the lake.
It was a perfect place to see the lotus flowers in the summer.
Yun Qianliang walked along the Nine Winding Corridor and looked under the water. She seemed to be looking for ingredients to fill her stomach and her eyes shone with a wolf’s light.
“No one would raise carp in the lake, ma’am.” Chun Hua saw that her master was holding onto the pillar, so she stuck his body out even more, and quickly pulled her back.
“Raise a pond of fish and prawns. Serve them with tea and fish when you have nothing to do. If you lack money, you can sell them.” Just as Yun Qianliang finished speaking, she heard a light chuckle coming from the front.
Yun Qianliang straightened her body and looked towards Ying Yan, who was walking towards him. She was dressed like a young miss of some noble family, but the smell of makeup was too strong, it was extremely pungent.
“How dare you!” How dare you! Chun Hua took a step forward, and bellowed.
Chun Hua had been by Yun Qianliang’s side since sshe was a kid, and would usually follow her master and act tyrannically. This time, he was acting arrogantly, with a stern expression on her face, which actually intimidated a few people.
The group of Singer Dancer did not move, but turned to look at the leader of the group, who was wearing a light green chest dress.
Wen Meng had heard quite a lot of rumors about Yun Qianliang, but this was the first time she had met him in person.
Her straight and impeccable facial features meticulously outlined her absolute beauty. When her eyes moved, they were like smoke that gently rippled, revealing her brilliance to the extreme.
Thin makeup, beautiful eyebrows like a willow, forehead light cinnabar, charming.
Just that beautiful face made Wen Meng, who was usually confident in her looks, feel a sense of crisis.
Wen Meng stood up straighter as if she refused to admit defeat, and did not kneel down yet. It was as if once she lowered her body to look at the person in front of him, it would be difficult for him to raise her head again.
If it was in the past, Wen Meng would definitely allow others to find all the possible mistakes, but today, she could not take it lying down.
Yun Qianliang calmly waited, not paying any attention to the person in the lead.
But she knew in her heart that the person in the lead was the girl that Chun Hua was muttering to herself everyday — — Wen Meng.
But she did not deliberately hold enmity towards Wen Meng and the other Singer Dancer, treating them as equals, thus giving them an equal status. No matter how respectful the servants in the house treated Wen Meng, a proper wife, they would never be able to show their respect in front of her, and the difference in status was too great.
Xiao Cui held onto a guqin, and retorted: “I haven’t even admitted to it, do you have the nerve to call me Madam?”
Hearing that, Yun Qianliang’s brows furrowed, the water color in her eyes faded, a cold light shot towards the rude servant.
Xiao Cui could not help but shiver, she immediately lowered her head, not daring to look directly into those eyes.
“Chun Hua, get the Steward Gu to gather all the people here. Wait in the main hall!” Yun Qianliang said coldly.
“Yes.” Chun Hua replied, and after saluting, she went to look for someone.
“Qiu Yue, return to Green Pine Academy and bring me the imperial edict.” Yun Qianliang ordered again.
When the group of Singer Dancer heard the order, they did not understand what Yun Qianliang meant.
After Yun Qianliang saw that her servant had retreated, she walked around them and headed towards the main hall of the Xiang Palace.
Yun Qianliang walked a distance and saw that the girls didn’t make a single move as they looked at each other.
“What? You want me to invite everyone to the main hall?” Yun Qianliang’s voice was very heavy, as heavy as the restraint before the storm, but it made people clearly feel the coldness that she was suppressing.
When Yun Qianliang led the group of people to the main hall, it was already filled with servants. Even the guards who weren’t on duty were present, forming six neat rows.
“Madam, everyone is here.” Chun Hua went forward to report.
Steward Gu raised his eyes to look at the woman walking towards him. She was dressed in a simple dress, it was elegant and refined, beautiful and natural, a dark blue silk thread had been embroidered on the fabric of her clothes, the Resurrection Lily blooming happily, from her dress all the way to her waist, she did not look charming, but instead had a clear and cold temperament.
She originally had a sullen face, but under that extremely powerful appearance, she revealed a domineering attitude.
Steward Gu respectfully stepped forward and asked: “Madam, you can ask this old servant to bring this person to Green Pine Academy. There is no need to personally visit.”
“It’s hard for Steward Gu to remember that I’m Madam.” Yun Qianliang laughed coldly, raising his eyelids slightly, but showing a trace of coldness.
Yun Qianliang did not walk into the main hall. Steward Gu immediately asked the servant to bring out a chair from inside, and then ordered a servant to prepare some tea for him.
Yun Qianliang sat upright on the chair and held the cup of tea in her hands as she savored it. She did not say a word for a long while.
After around the time it takes to drink a cup of tea, the queue became restless.
“If not for Hibiscus Courtyard’s servant’s reminder, I would never have thought to gather such a large group of people.” Yun Qianliang lured the trouble over to the Hibiscus Courtyard with a few words, put down the cup, and changed the topic, “However, the mansion’s servants are so diligent, why do they marry themselves? If the Cloud Water Pavilion’s food is cold, then it’s something tasty the other night.”
Normally, there would be people brought out from the residence to take care of it with Wen Meng. As she thought about how girls would understand more about food, he did not interfere much in the affairs of this lady, but who would have thought that the servants would actually take care of master’s meals from behind the scenes.
“What’s going on?” Steward Gu asked in a stern voice.
The commotion below immediately quieted down. No one spoke a word.
“Steward Gu, the palace has been very busy these few days. Furthermore, with Lord Prime Minister’s recent wedding, I’m afraid everyone hasn’t gotten used to it yet.” Wen Meng stood out and explained in a gentle and soothing voice.
Yun Qianliang looked at Wen Meng and smiled meaningfully.
“I heard that the Gu Xiangfu has the rule to not raise idle people, no wonder the people in the kitchen gave me such terrible treatment.” Yun Qianliang did not attack, and continued, “Since that’s the case, then you should be in charge of the management, hand it over to me today.”
With just a single sentence, it stirred up a thousand ripples. Even Wen Meng who was an expert at putting on an act had frozen in place at that moment.
“In the past, the Prime Minister’s Estate did not have a matriarch, so I needed the help of an outsider to take care of the family matters. Now that I’m married into the family, these household matters are naturally taken care of by me.” Steward Gu, what do you say? ” Yun Qianliang didn’t wait for everyone to react and explained her plan to recruit authority. She didn’t forget to bring Steward Gu over to her side even when she was almost there.
“According to the rules, this is indeed the case. This old servant has neglected to do so.”
Steward Gu was an old man of the Palace of Generals who listened to Gu Yicheng’s orders and only followed the rules.
