Fakes Don’t Want To Be Real - Chapter 83.1
FAKES DON’T WANT TO BE REAL
~ 83 ~
“Uhmm.”
She raised her butterfly-like hand on her chest and put on a smile.
Now, what should she wish for?
Everything she wanted to accomplish flashed through her mind so that she couldn’t distinguish them.
And when she realized that she was taken aback.
There were so many things she wanted to achieve.
‘In the past…’
Her wish was to be loved and recognized by someone.
However yet, she assumed it was impossible and so at least wished that there’d be someone who would grieve when she left this world.
Once she wished there was someone who will not shed tears for her, just mourn for her was more than enough.
Psychke looked at Verndia.
His eyes were the same as the wings of a butterfly while looking at her.
It was he who changed her like this.
She admitted he was the first person to recognize her.
He was the only person she shared her childhood with, and the one who pulled her out of the dark world which she didn’t even notice.
Although she didn’t recall them at first…
‘Have you gone crazy, princess?’
Before she came back to life again, he was also the one who saved her from being run over by a carriage due to being exhausted of her life.
It was the kind of incident that brought her close to him.
‘If you ask for help, I will help you. I’ll even do whatever it takes to be your d*mn fiancé.’
‘Even if one dies, it needs to drink. Do you understand?’
If it wasn’t a bluff, he’s been very nice to her since then.
Previously, she thought it would tarnish his reputation if she died.
Now that she think about it, he seems to have treated her quite sincerely.
So, it would be okay to make this wish for him today.
“I hope the north will be stable as soon as possible.”
Twinkle twinkle, as if proving that she had sincerely prayed, the butterfly made with magic shone.
Psychke relaxed her hand.
The butterflies that circled above her head sprayed purple powder and melted into the air.
Light powder fell like rain. Verndia, who had been hit with the powder, stuttered in surprise.
“You know you could make a wish for yourself, so why did you make that wish?”
Psychke laughed and repeated what she had heard the other day.
“The duke has done many things, but I have done nothing.”
“What do you mean you did nothing.”
“I heard that demons have become ferocious. And that Miss Lia magic isn’t having much effect.”
His eyes sank low.
He thought she was too busy with her own matters but she still managed to get her hands on that problem.
Psychke looked away. The curtain separating the banquet hall and the terrace was swaying in the night breeze.
“After the banquet, you should go back to the north.”
“I won’t go right away.”
“No, you have to go right away.”
Psychke looked at him.
“I will do my job, and you, Duke should also do your business.”
His eyes held a blank emotion.
Silver hair drenched in moonlight swayed in the wind.
Jrrrk, jrrk. The sound the circle makes was so peaceful.
Purple powder that shimmered softly floated in the air, and her blue eyes which contained him.
In this dreamy situation, she was speaking terribly realistic words.
Verndia slowly pursed his lips.
“What are you trying to do by yourself?”
“Well, it will work somehow.”
It was irresponsible.
However, it was also a word that could not be more suitable in the current situation.
“I will be fine.”
He formed a thin line on his lips as a response.
He knew it. He knew that without him, she would be just fine.
How he loathed her. How he desperately wished she could stand on her own, and want him more. He wanted her to rely on him; that she couldn’t do anything without him by her side.
However, since it is impossible to express his feelings out loud, he hid his true expression behind a mask that he had worn over and over again.
“I’m talking to the Magic Association. They also listened carefully to whether the herb matter was suspicious. There’s also Shiona’s case- Anyway, the princess doesn’t have to worry.”
“Duke. Don’t overturn the Duke’s choice because of me.”
If it hadn’t been for her, he would have gone back to the North as he had in the past.
She didn’t want to grab his ankle and prevent him from doing his business.
Verndia nodded his head insincerely.
“You are mistaken about something and that is it was never your fault why I haven’t gone to the North.”
He gapped the distance between them.
They got close enough that they could see their reflections in each other’s eyes.
“I am remaining here because I want to be by your side.”
“So because of me-”
“No.”
He adamantly cut off her words.
“‘I’ said that I wanted to be by the Princess’s side.”
“…”
“I am the only one who can move me. There is no need for the princess to worry.”
If he was here for her, what more could she say against it?
Psychke moved her lips silently and lowered her gaze to the floor.
She didn’t have the confidence to look at him because if she met his eyes, he would find out what she was feeling right now.
He did so and he barely uttered a word.
“Don’t overdo it.”
“Of course. But why do you hate doing it on your forehead?”
