Fall For Me - Chapter 28 Watching The Sunset On A Beautiful Phoenix
For the next 7 days and 7 nights Xintong stayed with Jun. On cold nights she would warm him up by hugging him. On hot nights she would cast a soul cooling spell on him. On the days he is in pain she would use soul share to take some of the pain.
Jun would find out from time to time and severe the connection. After the 7 days and nights the pain miraculously went away. When Jun got up he saw that Xintong was sleeping with her head on the side of his bed with a blank cover book in her hand. There was a warmth in his chest that couldn’t be easily explained when he saw this.
He checked his body and if Xintong wasn’t sleeping right now he would have flew into the air. His meridian were three times bigger than his meridian before. Not only that but all 108 are open. Meaning there would be no resistance in qi flow through the meridian. He would have absolutely one hundred percent control in his body. Furthermore his body was in the initial stages of the Master realm but he felt a boundless power that was vastly stronger than before.
If he was to compare his body now to his body before than his body was 3 times tougher and 5 times stronger in strength than before.
The only problem is that he had absolutely zero qi currently inside his body currently. If not Jun thought that he can definitely take down that bat bee from before. Jun set down and began meditating and revolving the Black Empyrean and white Fiend-God method. One minutes later he broke through the first stage of the qi refinement realm. Two minute later the second stage. Four minutes the third stage. Eight minutes the fourth stage. Sixteen minutes the fifth stage. In span of two hours he was at the bottle neck of the refinement realm.
“Holy cow this cultivation and body is over powered.” Jun thought in his head.
Xintong who was sleeping also absorbed some qi during the process and benefited from it.
The people that were cultivating and living in the same apartment as Jun were immensely confused in those two hours.
“What the hell? Where did all the qi went?” stranger A whose cultivation was in the Nascent realm wondered out loud.
Stranger B also had a confused face. “Brother is there something wrong today? I can’t feel an ounce of qi here.”
These conversations rang throughout the building. They were ready to start a riot at one point before the qi returned.
Xintong woke up at that point. “Jun are you okay?”
Jun answers happily, “Yeah I feel great!”
“Thats good.”
Jun was telling the truth when he woke up. It felt like when you had come down with a snuffy nose, a splitting headache, the coughs, the fevers, chest congestion, and every kind of sickness you can think of. Then the next day you wake up and it is all gone.
“Lets get you something to eat,” Xintong said running to the kitchen to make food.
Jun had a warm smile on his face. “Thanks. Let me cook for you to thank you.”
Xintong opens the fridge and looks in awkwardly. “Ehhh. Your fridge is empty”
“”
“Like its completely empty”
“uuhhhh.”
Xintong checks the freezer and even the freezer was empty. It wasn’t just empty but empty to the point like someone never put food in.
Jun began to feel a little anxious as he thought his secret might have been exposed. She might link to my real identity. What should I do?
Xintong was thinking, Lin is so poor. Has he always been living like this? Next time we complete a job together I gotta pay him more. He must be feeling so embarrass right now. I feel so bad. What should I do?
Jun stammers, “its not what you think.”
Xintong resolutely answers, “its okay! You must not have been here for a while now and thats why the fridge is empty. I’m gonna go out for a bit. I’ll be back soon. You rest up!” She made an excuse for him to hang on.
“Yeah, it’s something like that, hahaha” Jun laughs a little awkwardly. I’m gonna have to get Bu Fan to do something about this. “Oh you’re going out?”
“Yeah I’ll be back soon through. So you just stay here and rest up!”
“I feel great. Its been a while since I felt this good.”
“No! You just healed up and should take at least a day to rest!” Xintong urged and thought I can’t possibly let you go with me to the grocery store!
Seeing her so adamant about it Jun decided to accept her good will and replied a docile way “Alright then.”
“Oh is there anything you like to eat?””Mhmm not really I’m good with anything.” Jun replied but internally thought it is not like you can afford it.
“Alright then. I’ll be right back.”
Xintong was at the door by that point putting on her shoes. “I’ll be back soon rest up!”
“Okay.”
She opens the door and left.
After she left Jun notice that there was a blank cover book on the side of his bed. Did that dote forget to bring her book with her, Jun sighed.
Originally he was gonna go back to practicing his cultivation but he also noticed that he was actually still absorbing qi at one one hundredth of the usual rate. Overpowered! This is too overpowered! But I like it.
He picks up the book and decided to take a peak inside.
Its her diary
This is so cliche Jun thought. I shouldn’t look at it. Eh what can it hurt. Well a cliche development would be if I look at it. Well it would be fun to see some of her secrets. Then I can tease her a bit in my Xing Jun identity. But that wouldn’t be nice. I mean Xing Lin isn’t actually doing anything wrong if I read this in my Xing Jun identity.
After having many miscellaneous thoughts, excuses, and many wrong lines of reasoning Jun convinced himself reading this is not an invasion of privacy.
He spread out his King realm soul to make sure he had enough time to detect Xintong coming back so he can put away the diary.
He began reading it from the very first page. For a cultivator with his soul strength he could have read the whole diary in a second or two but Jun decided to his time.
The first entry was from 4 years ago. It described some of her sadness and what it was like coming out of her depression. She then goes on to describe her daily routines and what her future goal is.
Some blah, blah, blah here and some blah blah there was what was going on in Jun’s mind when she was reading over some of her daily routine. When he turn the next page his eyes almost popped out of his head. It was an entry from 3 years ago.
It read, today my parents introduced me to a young his name is Shi Huang. He is the fourth generation young master of the Huang clan. My parents asked me to accompany him for a day. I found that he is quite to my liking. That night my parents explained to me who he was and if I liked him or not. I can’t say that I love him but if it is to help the Xia clan revive I am willing.
Who the hell is this Shi Huang! I’ll give him a taste of my fist when I see him! Jun thought. He skip the sappy stuff and continued reading.
We went on another date and he is a pretty nice person. He is 14 this year and only a year older than me but his cultivation already reached peak Nascent realm. In this whole city he can be considered a top genius. Marrying him might not be so bad.
Three pages later.
Today I remembered something that made me uncomfortable about the marriage. My brother said that he had a dream to become the top alchemist in the world and bring the WL Pillshop to the forefront of the pill business world. He said that this would be grand source of income for the clan. He said that it is part one of his plan!
Ten page later.
I have decided that I won’t go through with the marriage. I haven’t talked to my parents yet and I decided to tell Shi Huang that I won’t marry him first. Also my brother’s friend Ziyu is coming to visit later.
Next page.
I did something terrible today. I think I might have killed him. When I told him I didn’t want to marry him he attacked me. I freaked out and the next thing I knew I blacked out. When I woke up my parents were beside me and they began making plans with brother Ziyu to move. I also worked up the courage to tell my parents that I want to continue my brother’s legacy.
Next page
They pondered over my decision and told me I should pursue what I want but I can see it in their eyes that they don’t have that high of a hope of my success. That only made my drive that much stronger. That was also the day we moved to Ziyou City in the country of Ba Sing Se.
Couple pages later
Today my dad started to seriously teach me in cultivation. My mother also started teaching me Pill forging. Not only that but I began reading over the notes and books my brother left behind. I can only say that he is a true genius.
About 120 pages later.
Its been a couple months since I came to Ziyou City and it has been so calm and peaceful. I been getting my life in order and my cultivation has been rising at a steady pace. My mother said that my alchemy skills are top notch and within the top .1 percent of the country. Thats all great but somehow I don’t feel proud at all after comparing myself to a certain genius alchemist in this city.
Is she talking about me? Jun thought. When Jun checked the date on the journal entry he found that it was about a month or two after he made his debut in the pill industry.
Another couple pages later.
Recently I had a lot of time to think and ponder. My birthday is coming up in a couple days and I was thinking back to the promise my brother made me when I was little. He promised me that on my next birthday he would take me out to watch the sunset while riding on a beautiful phoenix. I knew he wasn’t being realistic with the promise but it was okay because I knew deep down that I would be spending time with him. At the thought of it I felt like crying because in the end I just wanted to spend my birthday with my family. It also hit on me again that I would never be able to see him again. I have got to work harder!
It’s my fault. At the very least I should grant you your brother’s final promise. But where the hell am I gonna find a phoenix!? At least be realistic when you lie!
