Falling For Frost - Chapter 2 Riveria Corporation
The moment Verglas walked outside, she was immediately greeted with her half-sister, Lalisa, rushing in her direction. “Sis, are you alright?” Who didn’t know that Natalia was probably lecturing Verglas like always? It wasn’t a secret in the Riveria Household that the mother-daughter relationship was a bit tense. And seeing Verglas storming out, it was clear that Natalia had crossed the line.
Verglas looked at her blankly. Lalisa paled at the frigid expression on Verglas’ face. “Sis?” Verglas turned around and stalked off without bothering with Lalisa.
Seeing Verglas’ cold and slightly haughty temperament, Lalisa felt disappointed. Her sister was always so cold to her, even though Lalisa had always tried so hard to make Verglas like her. Sure they were from different mothers, but Lalisa loved Verglas as genuinely as one could love their older sister.
If one were to see them, they wouldn’t be able to tell that they were related at all. Verglas was like an angel with her flawless pale skin, golden hair, and cerulean eyes. But Lalisa had long, inky black hair, honey colored eyes, and pale skin. Despite not inheriting any eye color like Verglas from her father, Lalisa had many of his facial features, giving her a regal look. But as she was still young, the facial features couldn’t be discerned yet. The facial features were the only thing that didn’t give away the idea of Lalisa being adopted into the Riveria family.
Meanwhile Verglas had no time to feel any remorse for ignoring Lalisa at the moment. She had to find her father.
She drove to her father’s office at Riveria Corporation, the family company. As she parked her car in the private parking lot that was exclusively for the Riveria family, but noticed one too many cars parked. She recognized her father’s car as well as Alexander’s, but there was an unfamiliar black and sleek car. Just by the sight of it, it oozed extravagance and expense.
Verglas glanced at it coldly, only to remember that it was a part of the limited edition X Cars that she had wanted. Unfortunately, there were only two made, and both were sold out by the time she had made contact with the company. To find it here, in the private parking lot, this meant that her father most likely could not afford to offend this person.
But the Riveria family was so powerful in Aurelia, who was powerful enough to make her father quiver?
Verglas began to walk inside of the building, immediately being recognized by the employees. They bowed in respect and slight fear, for they knew even the smallest mishap may get fired. As sympathy wasn’t something that she was known for, the employees knew the chances of begging for forgiveness was nearly zero.
Verglas paid them no mind and her heels continued to click loudly on the marble floors. She reached the private elevator and immediately went for the very top; her father’s office.
Once the elevator stopped and she stepped out, her father’s young secretary, Faith Wu, greeted her and asked her if she wanted any beverage to drink. Verglas waved her hand, dismissing her, and knocked on her father’s office door.
When it was opened, she was met with something unexpected…
