Falling For The Bad-boy Superstar - Chapter 81:The Right
It had been three days and Lana still hadn’t woken up. Jordan was beside himself, his face was livid with anguish; as he waited for the daily medical routine check-up; his hands trembling with fear. His eyes were becoming glassy due to lack of sleep and his sallow cheeks were ashen. He hadn’t left Lana’s side and refused to eat but Jones persisted until he caved in.
The doctor had just completed examining her and was feeling positive about Lana’s recovery. “The baby’s heartbeat is steady and your wife is healing wonderfully. We will just continue to monitor her.” He advised.
Jordan thanked the doctor and preceded to give Lana a sponge bath; then once he was done with her, he went to shower in the private bathroom. He leaned his forehead against the tiles and could feel his body was tired. This felt like a bad dream and he just wished it could be over because he was close to losing his mind. He didn’t know how much more of this he could take.
He leaned his forehead against the tiled wall and could feel his body was tense, he was physically and emotionally drained. He just stood there and allowed the water to cascade over him, the warmth offering temporary comfort.
“You need to rest kid. We don’t want another casualty.” Jones threw him a worried look as he emerged out of the bathroom.
“I’ll be okay,” Jordan grunted in response before he strode out of the room and made a bee-line to the vending machine, to get a soda. But as he bent over the machine, he saw Lana’s mother and his father approaching down the passage.
He flung the drink to the floor and strode across the hall in a fit of rage. The sight of them set the geyser of his anger roaring and spouting in the face of the earth. He was practically foaming at the mouth. A volcanic eruption waiting to happen.
“What are you doing here?!!” He fumed. “LEAVE!”
“I’m not going anywhere until I see my daughter.” His mother-in-law contested.
“Exactly.” Alexander Carter stepped forward with a smirk.
There was a loud thud as Jordan’s fist collided with his father’s face, sending him spiraling onto a rickety, squeaking table in the corner of the room. As though he were blown by the wind, Jordan charged forward and began to finish what he started as he began to throttle him. He was already so weak you could hear him wheeze but Jordan tightened his grip. Even when his father was wrenching at his forearms and red in the face he did not relax his hold.
“You almost killed her! Do you know that?!” Jordan’s voice reverberated through the hall. “You almost killed my wife and my child!”
Lana’s mother screamed hysterically for security, urging them to come to the aid of her lover. Jones got there first and managed to pry Jordan’s resisting hands from the semi-conscious body that was lying helplessly, on the floor.
“Alexander!” she rushed over and knelt by his side. “Are you okay?” she asked as she put on the weeps. “Someone get a doctor! He can’t breath-please! Help him!” Medical staff hurried over and examined him then called for a stretcher, that wheeled him away speedily.
Jordan stood on the side and looked on, almost with resentment. He had no remorse whatsoever.
“You could have killed him!” Jones said with evident distress.
“Good.” He looked at Jones with vacant eyes before he turned on his heel, and strode away.
Evening fell and his mother-in-law finally made an appearance. The specialist was doing the evening rounds when she walked into her daughter’s ward. She waited for the physician to complete the examination before she had the confrontation with Jordan.
“You should be ashamed of yourself!” She hissed.
“On the contrary-it’s you that should be ashamed Linda,” Jordan responded, trying to keep a level of calm.
“He has been admitted-because of you! I hope you’re proud of yourself-”
“Shame or pride?” He creased his brows and pretended to contemplate. “Gee..Just like you, I can’t seem to decide..”
“He could die-”
“Well, Boo-hoo! I’m so touched!” Jordan mocked as he clutched his chest. “The man you’re defending tried to kill your daughter Linda!” He vented his displeasure upon her.
“You have no proof-”
“Come on Linda don’t be blind! The sex can’t be that good!”
“How dare you!” She clenched her fists as she stepped forward and screeched in his face.
“You can’t be that dumb. He’ s playing you and your stupidity can cost your daughter’s life!” He snapped back.
“You have no right to talk to me like that!” she raised her hand to slap him but he caught her wrist mid-air and pushed her away.
“I have respect for you as my Lana’s mother… but you’re pushing my limits lady.” He issued a stern warning.
“Jordan don’t!” Jones stepped in between them and held him back.
“Tell her to leave. Otherwise, I won’t be held responsible for what happens to her from here on.” He looked straight past Jones and scowled at Linda Logan.
“You’re going to regret this!” She shouted out before she grabbed her handbag from the chair.
“The only one that’s going to regret is you. I hope it won’t be too late by then..”
“We’ll see..” she gave him a look of disgust before she stormed out.
“I think your lack of rest is making you cranky JC.” Jones observed. “Why don’t you get some sleep? I’ll be here to keep an eye on things.”
“Maybe you’re right..” Jordan sighed as he hopped on the bed and sidled up behind Lana. “Wake me up if anything happens.”
“Will do. Get some rest kid.” Jones said as he turned out the lamp on the nightstand.

The next morning his eyes flew open when he felt someone running their fingers through his hair. At first, he thought it was a dream but the caress was so soothing and seemed very familiar.
“Lana!” Never in his life had Jordan felt so elated as he did that morning. “You’re awake!” he sat up and cupped her face; his smile lit up the room.
“Good morning Carter.” She said her voice hoarse as she gave him a wobbly smile.
“I can’t believe this! You’re here! You came back to me, baby!” He kissed her forehead tenderly and leaned back to gaze at her face.
“You’re not going to get rid of me that easily..” she murmured.
“Should I get the doctor? Are you okay? Do you need anything?”
“I saw the doctor last night and… this morning.” She cleared her throat and smiled.
“You’ve been awake since last night??”
“Let me get you some water.” He slid off the bed and poured some water in a glass. “Why didn’t you wake me up? Jones-”
“Because I told her you weren’t sleeping..at all. “Jones said from behind his newspaper.
“And I kind of asked the doctor to give you something to make you stay down..” Lana added with a guilty look.
“I guess if you’re conspiring behind my back-you must be feeling better.” Jordan laughed as he sat at the edge of the bed and leaned in to kiss her on the lips. “I missed you. I missed you so much, baby.” He whispered to her.
“I missed you too.” She replied as she stroked his cheek.
“Good to have you back kid.” Jones grinned from the other side of the room.
“So..who’s going to fill me in on how I got here?” She looked at Jordan and Jones expectantly.
Suddenly uniformed policemen burst into the room and went straight for Jordan. “Jordan Carter?”
“Yes,” Jordan replied.
“What’s going on?” Lana cried out in fear.
They grabbed Jordan, pinned him against the wall and they handcuffed him as they read him his rights. “Jordan Carter you are under arrest for attempting to murder your father, Alexander Carter. You have the right to remain silent. Anything you say can and will be used against you..”
