Falling For The Bad-boy Superstar - Chapter 86:Ultimate Chaos
Detective Jackson was about to accompany Jordan to the visitor’s room when one of his officers rapped his fingers on the door.
“Detective we have a problem. Can we speak in private?” He entreated.
“Sure. Please excuse me? I’ll be right back guys. Just give me a second to attend to this?” He requested courteously. Jordan nodded a quiet assent in response to his question as he answered his phone.
“Yes?”
“Mr Carter. We ran into a..challenge-at the hotel. You need to come over now Sir.”
“Is it Lana? Is she okay?”
“Can’t say over the phone Sir. But she is hyperventilating Sir..it’s difficult to handle her-”
“Tell me what happened to her?? Screw protocol!”
“It’s Mrs Logan-we found her body in the hotel room Sir.”
“Her body?? You mean she’s…?”
“I’m afraid so Sir. It seemed like she had been strangled-”
“Lana saw it…?”
“Unfortunately Sir. We tried to stop her but she was very persistent-”
“Take her straight home. I’ll be there right away.”
Jordan sprang from his chair and began walking towards the exit. “I need to go home. It’s Lana-she’s-I just need to get to her now.” He raked his hair and let out a heavy sigh.
“What happened? Was she attacked again?” Ryan inquired as they hurried along the passageway.
“No-it’s-I-her mother-”
“You’re not making sense JC..” Barry frowned as he exchanged confused looks with Ryan.
They saw the detective walking forward, out there in the corridor. “Gentleman. I’m sorry I got held up.” He halted in front of them. “There’s something of utmost importance to discuss with you. Can we please go back to my office?”
“Is it about my-mother in-law?” Jordan struggled for composure.
“You heard?” Dylan’s face contorted in a pained expression.
“Yeah.” Jordan ran his hand down his face and grimaced.
“Do you think-?
“I want to see him.”
“Follow me.” The detective said gravely as he led the way.
They meandered around the corridors until they got to the visitor’s area, where Alexander Carter was already seated at the other side of the table. As usual, Jordan, overcharged with emotion, dove straight at him and assaulted him. The security officers dragged him away with some difficulty and pushed him to the corner of the room until he calmed down. Alexander was placed back on his seat and was in fits of laughter, while he tried not to cough his lungs out.
“I’ve got your tapes.” He shook and snickered with anticipation of the glory of it. “Tread carefully son..”
“Then sell them to the highest bidder! Release them! Post them on the internet! I don’t care!” shouted his son wildly, wrenching himself free but he was held back due to safety reasons.
“Are you sure about that? Are you sure you want everyone to get a glimpse of you and your doe-eyed beauty consummating your marriage?” Alex taunted in the most vulgar, low, indecent tone.
“Go for it!”
“I know your marriage isn’t real. Linda told me everything-”
“Is that why you killed her??!” The accusatory tone prompted him to place himself opposite his father.
“That’s a very strong accusation son.”
“Why did you do it??! How could you do that to her Alexander?!”
“Why do you care? You didn’t like her anyway?” He regarded his son with contempt.
“Where is Jones? What did you do to him? Did you kill him too?!”
“Wouldn’t you like to know?”
“Where-is-he??”
“Like you said…probably lying in a ditch somewhere waiting to meet his maker.” Alex cackled at his own joke.
“You’re inhuman! I never want to see you again!” Jordan stood up abruptly, toppling the wooden chair backwards. “Don’t ever ask me to come and see you because I won’t!” Jordan was now white, but his jaw shot forward and his teeth closed.
“Since you not willing to save your old man, that’s going to happen sooner than you thought..” He mocked as his offspring made his way to the dark doorway.
“You’re already dead to me.” He declared in a tone of finality, his back turned to his father.
“What do you want? An apology? Okay-I’m sorry-”
“I would say I hope you rot in jail-but that’s too good for you.” The officer standing guard opened the door and Jordan stormed out.
“She’s about to sleep. Please make sure she rests. She’s gone through a very traumatic experience. She will probably need counseling.” The doctor suggested. “I just hope her blood pressure doesn’t shoot up because it could harm your baby. We need to monitor it.”
“How do we prevent that? She’s just lost her mother and she witnessed it..it’s not going to be easy doc…”
“I understand Mr Carter but we need to keep a close eye on her.”
“I will doc.”
“Call me if you need anything. The nurse will be here if you require further assistance.”
“Carter…” Lana breathed his name out and he held her in his arms as they lay down together.
“I’m here baby. Get some rest okay?” He stroked her hair gently; as she lay her head on his shoulder.
“She’s gone Carter..My Mom is..”
“You don’t have to talk about it now baby. Don’t do this to yourself okay?”
She knocked out and Jordan could hear her steady breathing.
Everything was such a huge mess.
Ever since his father came back in the picture, his life-and everyone that he cared about-was in turmoil. He didn’t even know how to fix it and even if he did he didn’t know where to start. He had never lost control of a situation before-but this was-this was ultimate chaos. All this was because of one person. The man was bad news and left destruction in his path-death was too good for him.
Lana and his child almost met their death. Jones was still missing-and he hoped that he was still alive. Linda Logan was dead and her daughter had the misfortune of witnessing the finished product.. His whole world had fallen apart right before his eyes and he had no idea how he was going to piece it together.
