False Love, True Marriage - C22
Chapter 22 – Uncontrollable Intimidation
After eating, they drove back to the mansion, and the two went back to their respective rooms. They didn’t meet up in the slightest, nor did they see Lin Xiu Hui.
When Qi Yuan Ming walked from the study room to the bedroom to take a bath, he saw a small bowl placed beside the bed.
He walked closer to take a look.
It was still warm. He did not have the habit of eating supper, but the delivery time was accurate.
After staying in the Qi Family for so many years, Aunt Lin naturally understood her rules. As expected, his next question was as expected, “Young Master, Young Mistress told me to bring this over and place it here. She said that you need more nourishment.”
She?
Qi Yuan Ming fiddled with the red dates in the small bowl with one hand, his gaze deep. “Got it, you can go and rest.”
To be able to control the Aunt Lin, what was even more strange was that she actually noticed that he did not have any appetite at night. Could it be that Wen Hui did not hear the fierce words he said in the restaurant?
He took a sip and frowned. His mouth was filled with a sweet and greasy taste. Even though he didn’t like it, he still poured the whole bowl into his mouth.
Although she still went out to eat dinner with him everyday and pretended to be a good wife in front of Lin Xiu Hui, her heart was still in pain. Maybe she could consider acting as an actor for the rest of her life, her future prospects were limitless.
At the breakfast table, Wen Hui was using her chopsticks to nudge at the mountain medicine porridge. She looked to be in low spirits and had slept rather late, she would normally not be able to follow them to eat breakfast.
Qi Yuan Ming glanced at her, put down the financial newspaper, took a sip of his milk and asked: “Are you tired of eating?”
“Hmm, in the future, you don’t need to ask them to spend so much effort on brewing medicinal porridge for me.”
The man firmly said, “No, you have to eat all three meals according to the food prepared by the dietitian. This is not a business deal, so don’t bargain with me.”
He even pushed the fried egg in front of her, indicating that she should finish it, “You’re not allowed to eat any leftovers.”
Wen Hui silently took the plate, and did not retort because she could not beat him, so she simply kept her mouth shut.
“Yo, to see all of you acting so lovingly this early in the morning, I really want to find a wife.”
Zhou Yi automatically pushed aside the chair and sat in front of Wen Hui, smiling as he continued to tease them: “It hurts to marry this wife, I say brother, you’re not too gentle right?”
Zhou Yi laughed innocently, not caring if the main character bought his money, Wen Hui’s impression of him was neither good nor bad. He had helped her last time, so he did not feel disgusted by his teasing.
Wen Hui was a little embarrassed leaving the two of them behind, especially when Zhou Yi kept looking at her with that playful expression. She asked embarrassedly: “Why did you come here so early in the morning? Did you eat breakfast?”
“Sister-in-law I’ve eaten, I’ve made an appointment with Brother Lin to do something. Sister-in-law you don’t need to call me after you eat, there are a few young servants here that I can count with my eyes closed.”
Wen Hui held back her laughter, and was overjoyed by his ruffian power. She took a peek at the direction of the stairs, and quickly poured the leftover porridge into a small trash can by the side.
Zhou Yi did not ignore her actions, he just glanced at the sumptuous breakfast on the table and smiled like a spring breeze, “My brother really loves sister-in-law. Before, he always fooled his with a cup of bitter coffee, but now he has done so many different things.”
“He and I are not like how you see us. Actually, we are just as separate as gods and gods. There are many things that are just an act.”
This time, Wen Hui’s words were very clear, she did not want to hear Zhou Yi’s teasing again.
His voice was calm as if he was narrating an important fact, “You don’t even know how anxious my brother was when you were being tied up, he almost dug the entire Ming City out of the ground and dug you out. That damned stupid woman Lin Bi Ting, if my brother didn’t say that he could take care of her himself, I would have killed her already.”
As if he had thought of something interesting, Zhou Yi smirked, “But my brother’s methods are really not as unearned as they say. In just three days, that woman was almost toyed with to death, and I don’t think anyone will dare to touch you again.”
Wen Hui pushed the bowl a little further away and put her little arm on it. The expression on her face did not look as touched as Zhou Yi expected, and she asked back with a bland voice: “From what you’re saying, he’s avenging me?”
It wasn’t that she didn’t pity Lin Bi Ting’s actions, but the moment she thought about the hideous face she had been facing that day in the dark private room, that bit of guilt was blown away.
Zhou Yi looked at her and nodded.
Wen Hui shook her head lightly. She knew that a man who distinguished between kindness and hatred like Zhou Yi would naturally misunderstand Qi Yuan Ming’s intentions, and explained: “I’m not that important to him. If he had to come up with a reason for me, that would probably be my identity.”
Zhou Yi laughed, “Sister-in-law, do you really think so?”
“He told me himself.”
She had not guessed, she had asked, but the man had not given her the answer she wanted.
Zhou Yi sighed, “My brother is truly a person who shouldn’t be pinched. No, you two are practically on equal footing.”
Fortunately, he liked those sexy and brainless women. They could bring him to bed if he wanted money, and he could use his body to communicate when he was in love. He was scared to death when talking about deep love like that, it would only take half his life.
“If you queue up for Madam Qi’s position, then it would really be a long wait. Many women would flock to it, it wouldn’t matter if you had more than one. If something really happens, you can find another woman to take your place. Isn’t that better for my brother?” Why did he have to spend so much time and effort to save you and vent his anger for you?
He paused for a moment, then continued, “Even when I came back from the United States to take over from Shengming and face a bunch of old antiques, forcing him to prove his strength within three months, he didn’t pay any attention to me. He didn’t even frown when he was hospitalized after a few months of suffering, but that night when you disappeared, my brother, was obviously flustered. That expression on his face was too horrifying, so I was deeply impressed.”
A faint fragrance of flowers wafted in from the door and entered her nose. She inhaled deeply and her nose was filled with a sweet fragrance.
