False Love, True Marriage - C28
Chapter 28 – Second Uncle Qi Mao
The pinpricks on his arm looked ferocious and terrifying, “Will these marks disappear in the future?”
If these marks could disappear, they wouldn’t remind her again and again. The scars on her heart would also fade.
“You have a scarred physique. It will take a very long time for you to completely disappear.”
As Wen Hui looked at the cold needle entering her blood vessels, she felt a slight stabbing pain. She still remembered the feeling when her blood was drawn out for the first time.
She had always been afraid of shots, and people who refused to take them even when they had a fever of 39 degrees were now used to it.
Just as she stepped into the hospital, a dark Porsche stopped in front of her, rolled down the window and revealed a face that was not young at all. His face had a fine stubble, his hair was extremely groomed, his skin was not dark, and he looked at her with a slight smile, “Miss Wen, are you free to come to my place for a cup of tea?”
Her questioning tone didn’t allow her to refuse. The car door on the other side was already open, waiting for her.
Wen Hui carefully sized up his appearance. How could a man with an outstanding temperament that looked to be over 40 years of age recognize her? You even know her surname is Wen?
She took a few steps back and moved to the side. Although she was considered a rich girl, her social circle was very small, and she had never appeared in public for the Wynn’s’s cooperation. Almost no one knew her.
“Sorry, I don’t know you.”
Wen Hui thought that she did not have the habit of being hit on, nor did she have the [Inherent Skill] of being familiar with others.
Qi Mao could see that she was smiling at him as he said in a cautious tone, “I have no ill intentions, I only wanted to invite Miss Wen over to take a seat.”
It was more appropriate to threaten than to invite. Two tall, powerful men were already standing next to her.
Out of the corner of her eye, she took a glance at the good-looking man. No matter how she looked at him, he didn’t look like a bad person, but neither did she feel like a good person.
Qi Mao sat upright, and upon seeing that she was deep in thought, he had no choice but to remind her: “Miss Wen, we have arrived.”
Hearing that, Wen Hui looked towards the ancient house outside, it had a different feeling, it was just that she was not naive enough to think that she was here as a guest.
The landscape paintings on the walls were definitely worth a lot. Wen Jun Guo liked to collect these types of paintings too, and he had to admit that the people who lived here were people who would enjoy life very much.
Qi Mao indicated for her to sit opposite to him, “Please take a seat.”
When the water was boiling, Wen Hui withdrew his gaze from the decorations in the room, his gaze fell on Qi Mao who had a cold body, feeling that he looked familiar, but was sure that she had never seen him before, “Sir, I do not know you, why did you go through so much trouble to invite me here, just think that you are here to treat me as tea?”
She could even be sure that this person had been waiting for her outside the hospital. Thinking about the car crash a few days ago, she calmed down and told herself to calm down.
She looked at the cup of bright red robe with the orange color and the yellow color that was placed in front of her. The fragrance that assaulted her nose made her feel that this was a good tea, but she didn’t touch it at all.
Qi Mao noticed that there wasn’t any unhappiness in her heart, and that smile still hung on his face. Wen Hui was a very sensitive person, she could tell that his smile was not real.
“Miss Wen doesn’t like tea, how about I get someone to change your cup of coffee?”
“I’m not interested in the food of strangers.”
Qi Mao’s emotions were not affected at all. He tasted the sweet and fragrant Da Hong Pao alone, and laughed: “Good tea.”
He put down his teacup and looked at her. “Miss Wen, you don’t have to be so unfamiliar with me.
Wen Hui looked at Qi Mao in a daze, “You know my father?”
She searched through her father’s friend’s records, but she didn’t notice this person. If she had seen him before, then it would definitely be a photographic memory.
He spat out a few words, “I’ve seen it a few times.”
A familiar voice came from behind. “Second Uncle is really in a good mood today.”
She was so happy that she didn’t even have the time to turn around before a powerful arm wrapped around her waist. A familiar aura then assaulted her senses.
His casual khaki shirt was very stylish. He untied two of the ties on his chest, revealing an enchanting collarbone. The man spoke with a manly tone, “You came to Second Uncle’s side without saying a word, causing me to look for you at home for a long time.”
This intimate tone made it seem as if she was very clear about his family background. How would she know that he still had a second uncle? He had never studied the family tree of the Qi family before, so he wasn’t in the mood to start with. Now, he was aware of his own ignorance.
From Qi Mao’s perspective, he saw that Qi Yuan Ming doted on her cute wife very much. From her acting point of view, Wen Hui and Qi Yuan Ming playing husband and wife who loved each other dearly was already part of his show.
“Yuanming, don’t blame Miss Wen. I just got off the plane today, so I had nothing better to do, so I wanted to invite you here to reminisce about old times. Coincidentally, I met the Miss Wen on the side of the road, and was just about to call you over.”
Not far away, the smell of burning incense drifted over. Wen Hui held back the itch in her nose, this smell was really unpleasant, did she coincidentally bump into her at the hospital? What a coincidence.
“Second Uncle, you just came back so I should be the one welcoming you back. How can I let you take the initiative to treat me?”
When Qi Mao said this, the wrinkles at the corner of his eyes became especially obvious, “We are all family so we don’t need to talk, I am just interested in what you are doing.
Family?
Qi Yuan Ming scoffed from the bottom of his heart, it was truly funny, Qi Mao had long left the Qi Family to start his own family, and his family had long since left.
Wen Hui did not interrupt him. Instead, she sat quietly beside him and felt a trace of indescribable coldness come out from her surroundings.
“Previously, I was worried that she wouldn’t fit into my circle, but now that I think about it, she should be openly standing by my side, making Second Uncle worry.”
“Looks like the Miss Wen is really blessed. This kid, Yuan Ming, has always had a solitary personality. It’s rare for him to be so interested in a woman.”
