Fantastic Life Tycoon - Chapter 11
The next two days were very hectic. Brian just followed Rob around offices with the lawyers.
Finally, the company was registered. The logo had not been designed yet so only the name was registered.
Brian wouldn’t be applying for patents. Rob had said that the technology was uncrackable. Brian was relieved after hearing it. Rob even boasted that no one could even operate the production line without a worker robot.
With this much security, Brian decided to lease land which was at the edge to the industrial space and extending outwards away from the city. There was scope to extend the factory outwards if he had money in the future.
The industrial space that Brian leased for 10 years with an upfront payment of 120000$ was around 9000 sq feet and Brian had to pay for a year to get it.
Brian looked at the balance in their bank accounts.
380,000$ left and I still have to pay the lawyer’s fees and the sales complex lease which should be considerably expensive per sq ft compared to this.
Brian talked to the lawyer about his plans to buy a sales point in the city centre mall. It had the most footfall in San Diego.
The law firm was happy to help with anything. They would just add to their payment. One more contract wasn’t an issue.
Everything is almost set up now. Just the raw materials.
When the lawyers left and Brian and Rob were alone in the factory, Brian asked Rob.
“What are the raw materials needed for the pillows.”
“Cotton bolt for pillows, we can even sell covers since it part of production line but that would complicate the process. Besides this, we need plastic which will be molded into a nano machines inside the production line. Boss, you don’t have to worry about it. I will arrange it, I have seen sellers in the city when I delivering pizzas.”
“Okay, don’t buy a lot. How many pillows can we make in a day?”
“About 1500 if I work at the production line. Boss, you should exchange another worker bot. I can’t do multiple things and you also need to protect yourself. Those guys who planned to attack you are still alive.”
“Yeah, I will exchange another one after I pay for everything here. We don’t have a business plan, it would be a hassle to get a loan without a product. We will buy enough material to operate the machinery for a day first. 1500 pillows are a lot to sell. We don’t even know how much it will cost us.”
Brian and Rob left the factory after closing all the gates. It was their property now. They had to take care of it. Security needed to be improved.
While, the factory space at the edge was a boon since it could be expanded, the security was pretty lax. Anyone could jump the fence and come in.
So many issues and so little money.
Rob drove Brian to the place where raw material were sold. It was a giant warehouse. Trucks were lined up outside it with machines filling them in large ship containers.
Do they export it or what.
Brian went inside their office.
“Hello?”
“We want to buy.”
“We don’t sell to small buyers. You will have to make a purchase of over 50000$ to barely qualify.”
Brian looked at Rob and Rob handed a paper with list and the amount.
“You can take this in 2 days. I need an advance to arrange all of it.”
“Make a bill and I will pay.”
The bill was finalised and everyone was happy at the end of it.
The man who had just sold the cotton bolts and other materials was a bit confused.
Is there a new textile industry here. Wouldn’t it be better for them to directly negotiate a purchasing agreement with the sellers who sell to us. Weird
The man didn’t bother with it. There were plenty of weird people in Cali who bought stuff weirder than this.
Everything was done, Brian had told the law firm about his requirements at the mall. They would have picked a good enough place, the place would not be a permanent thing anyway. Brian had decided to mainly sell online. It was the initial phase where he could make people believe in a physical store. When the sales picked up, the store could be abandoned or moved away.
The shop would not have much furniture, just a glass room where everyone could see from outside but inside it was foggy. There would be a counter with a cashier. There was no need for security inside a mall so it was a bonus.
After Rob had reminded Brian of the attack, Brian wasn’t going anywhere in Cali. He also wanted to know who was behind the attack.
Andrea could also be targeted. I should probably call her.
Andrea was even more paranoid after the attack. She stayed in the library and came back to her room before it was dark. She had taken Brian’s advice to be careful very seriously.
Andrea was about to go back to the dorm when he phoned ringed.
