Brian had already the address of the office space leased by Laura.

Brian entered the building and reached the destination. The whole floor had been leased by MagicTech. There were no signoboards yet but it would be a nice space with ample light. Brian saw Laura and nodded.

Laura looked at Brian little weirdly.

Does Boss apply makeup. Why does he look different.

Little did Brian know that a woman like Laura who really good at observing things had noticed his huge difference due to the gene potion. Obviously, she couldn’t guess the true reason so she put the blame on makeup.

Laura was wearing a similar dress to the one she wore on the first day they met. A tight office blouse with a pencil skirt. It seemed like her go to attire. Brian thought about what was under her shirt and almost embarrassed himself with the tingling in his pants.

“Let’s go in.”

Laura went into the conference room and there was already a man sitting on a chair. The man had noticed the door opening and stood up.

“Brian, this is Edwin. He has worked with me before and was excited to join our company when he came to know about our product. It’s just that he has trouble sleeping without medication so he just resigned from his last job and took the first flight here from San Francisco.”

“Welcome to San Diego, Edwin. I made the smart pillows with a few friends who don’t like getting outisde their labs so I will be handling the things for them.”

Both Laura and Edwin nodded.

Is this Brian a love child of some billionaire. How can he make those pillows.

Laura and Edwin had doubts about his claims of making the pillows.

~Cough~

Brian coughed and said.

“Edwin, I have given her full power in the hiring decisions so welcome to the team. Did you get all the information about the company from Laura.”

“Yes, Mr West. I believe the company has unmatched potential and will be a billion dollar company in no time. We just need to take care of our quality of products and there should be no problems on our road.”

“What do you suggest should be the immediate strategy.”

“I have talked to Laura about everything till now. I know that company is operating on a loan. I have an idea to generate free publicity for the opening of the store. This can also help up in getting visits on our website which I assume will be functioning soon.”

Brian interrupted him.

“Our website is already under work, I need some designs and logos which we will use.”

“I will hit up my contacts to find a creative designer. My idea is to use the TechCrunch Disrupt which will be held in SF in 3 weeks time. We need to apply now if we want to compete. By this time, our website should be ready and the results of sleep studies should also be there. We don’t even have to win it. The final event is livestreamed all over the world and big names like Zuckerberg will be attending it.”

What a productive idea but it’s so simple. Why didn to think about it.

“I like your idea. You register for the event. We have a working product here. Just escalate the sleep studies. We will be needing another loan very soon if we want to expand our production. I need atleast15 million to double production, maybe even more.”

Scamming my own company. Feels weird man. The sleeping pillow production line only costs 10mill.

” I will find a logo and website designer. I will text you the details as soon as it’s done.” Edwin replied

” Our company really needs a legal department to deal with so many contracts flying around.”

“But we don’t have any revenue.” Laura told.

“Then, get revenue. Expand the store and design the logo first. We will need it first. Decide the theme of our company. Our company will always sell products which are technology but more like magic. I want something unique. Start thinking or hire someone who can think. Anyways, you have full discretion on the administrative side of things. Miss Green is the executive VP and Edwin can be the Head of Strategy. Just work well, you will compensated way higher than you can imagine.”

Edwin and Laura looked forward to the day.

“Don’t save an office for me here. This place isn’t big enough. Laura will be the top leader here for all practical purposes. I mostly focus on research and can’t deal with the everyday running of the show.”

Laura and Edwin nodded.

“Let’s disperse then, you guys can apply for a bigger loan and that Tech Crunch thing. Notify me when we have to leave for the event. I will bring along a member of R&D to answer the questions at the event.”
