Fantastic Life Tycoon - Chapter 3
Brian had gone back to his room with around 10 minutes the first class.
This time, the corridors were full of people rushing towards the mess.
Brian checked his own calender and was relieved that he wasn’t stupid enough to choose an 8 am class, even in 2013. Not that he would be going. Lectures weren’t mandatory to attend specially the ones in freshmen year.
So, Brian had a holiday for all practical purposes.
Brian sat on his chair and felt his t-shirt sticking to him because of all the running.
“Not again.” For a person who didn’t like taking showers, doing it twice in a couple of hours was a real struggle.
Anyways, Brian did it with a heavy heart still enjoying the rebirth.
Although his system hadn’t given him anything solid yet, it had given him a good thing, maybe the best of…, It was hope. Hope of a better life than before.
Brian had worked on such sites before but one couldn’t get 1k really quickly.
Mind you, Brian used to earn about 90k before crossing back to now, so he felt more bitter.
I should use the college FB group to search for internships after school. Anything more than the minimum wage and I can have the money in 2-3 weeks.
Soon, Brian came across an ad which was to help in designing a personal website using a content management system.
Isn’t this perfect? 200$ if I can personalize it well.
Brian saved the phone number and texted.
“I saw your ad, I have some experience with it. Ping me a place and I can come.”
~ting~
“In the cafe near library after 6pm”
Brian confirmed the time and place.
I should revise some basics. 2019 web design was so much more refined than 2013.
With this in mind, Brian started preparing for the project, making a ppt to present his case like a professional.
He had already made a couple of layouts based on popular designs and was satisfied with his work and went back to sleep like a true college student.

It was a large building which looked more grand than his memorie, thought Brian.
He had reached a couple of minutes early to impress the “client”.
Brian was looking around at the young faces going in and out of the library. He was one of them last time and would have been the same if not for the system.
It was then Brian saw a familiar face. It was Andrea.
“Small world.”
“Yeah, I am supposed to meet someone here.”
“Yeah, same for me.”
Andrea looked into her phone and went to the side to make a call.
~Tring Tring~
Brian picked up the call.
“I am.alreadt outside the library.”
“I am wearing a white football jersey with Ronaldo’s name.”
Andrea looked around and saw Brian’s t-shirt
It won’t be him, right. What the hell. Should I leave? Now he will know. No I can just make a story.
Andrea came to Bryan and waved.
“Really a coincidence if you aren’t a psycho serial killer who is stalking me.”
Brian laughed it off.
They went to a bench near the library. Brian took out his laptop when Andrea spoke.
“Actually, my sister wants a personal website to blog and put some art on it. She doesn’t know anyone who could help her for as cheap as a student so she contacted me.”
Andrea spoke about the features and theme of the website.
Brian heard her.
“I can complete this in a couple of days. I will text you when I need feedback for the website or you can send your sister my number to give me a call.”
“No,no, my sister is busy, I will be intermediary for you.”
“Sure thing.”
Brian and Andrea had a coffee at the cafeteria while discussing the details.
“Andyyyy, ditching your roommates to secretly meet a boy. How scandalous.”
“Betty, he is Brian. I told you about the guy I met while running right.”
“Oh, Hi Brian. I am Betty, I am in the class as her. You must be really smooth to get her to agree for a coffee. Andy doesn’t like going out.”
Brian could only smile at what Betty had said.
Betty was taller and much fitter than Andrea. She must be in some sports team. This was Brian’s thinking when Betty went on talking.
“Betty, we were discussing something. Brian is making a website for my sister. That’s why we are here. It isn’t what you think.”
Betty winked at Andrea and said,”Sure.”
“Anyways, I am going to the gymnasium. Want to join me to shoot some hoops.”
“No.” Andrea had vetoed for both of us.
“I already feel tired because of running. She surely wants to kill me.” Andrea complained to Brian.
We discussed the basic layout and said goodbye after some time.
Brian went back to the tuition site and earned around 50 dollars for an hour of work. He had experience of negotiating with students who couldn’t afford the delay due to impending submission deadlines.
