Fantastic Life Tycoon - Chapter 34
Brian saw Andrea at the library cafe waiting for him. She smiled and waved towards him and Brian went in.
“Where were you yesterday? I wanted to text you but stopped after realizing that you might be working.”
I was taking care of my employees. Which boss would do that.
“I was testing the new office equipment. I will take you there someday to show you the equipment.”
Brian lied through his teeth and Laura had become his equipment which would be tested by Andrea in the future, atleast that’s what Brian hoped for. It wasn’t a lie in that case, just a minor misrepresentation of facts.
Andrea didn’t think much about it. It was alright to have private space for some time. It also helped her with writing.
“Oh by the way, Betty asked me to accompany her to the beach tomorrow. So be ready for it, I will drop by at 6am to take you.”
“I already knew she would do this. She had tried to invite me before I rejected.”
~tring tring~
Andrea’s phone beeped.
“Speak of the devil and here’s her text.”
“See what it is, it might be related to tomorrow’s plans.”
Brian asked Andrea to check it.
Andrea read the message and passed her phone to Brian.
“Hey, I can’t go to the beach tomorrow. I will be staying at home because of a little trouble. I can introduce you guys to the group or we three can go next weelend. Ask Brian about it.”
“Let’s postpone for next week. We can’t go with strangers. It won’t be any fun or do you want the two of us to go.”
“Betty will hate me if I go without her. We have to take her with us.”
“You are right. Just postpone it for next weekend then and ask her if she is alright. I don’t know if she needs any help to solve her trouble.”
“I will do.”
Andrea texted her for some time and realised it was nothing serious. Just taking care of her mother who had a little accident. She told Brian and both went into the library after finishing their drinks.
The library wasn’t used much except when exams were approaching. The area where Andrea had little tables which could accommodate 4 people but everyone just used one for themselves and even left a gap beetween the tables.
Brian and Andrea sat upon opposite sides of the table just like most other couples sitting face to face.
Brian felt that the arrangement looked like how men left a gap in public urinals.
What the fuck am I thinking about? Was I always this weird. Hmm, now that we are here. Let’s start with a basic math book for freshman. I want to see if there is any difference.
Brian took out his notebook and started understanding the calculus book.
Brian felt something hit his foot. He looked up and saw it Andrea.
She leaned on to the table and whispered softly.
“How are you so into it. I felt you had asleep with open eyes if not for the turning of pages.”
Brian had almost finished the whole book which wasn’t even used entirely for the course. He looked at his phone to check the time.
2 hours already. I almost completed the book. It’s super easy then. Let’s just complete all the courses for this semester then.
“Are you bored?” Brian asked.
“No, I stay here all the time and I wasn’t even studying. I was using Facebook. Actually, I looking forward to the beach. I haven’t had any new pictures for so long.”
Brian saw Andrea using an old iPhone.
Oh, I almost forgot about Bella. I have to send her an iPhone as well. Let’s just buy 3. I will also gift one to Andrea. She is already thinking about clicking pics next weekend.
“Yeah. My mom was also complaining about not sending her pictures of my college days.”
“Moms are the same everywhere.”
“Yeah, it’s been more than a month when I went home.”
“It’s only a short flight away. You can go back if you feel homesick.”
“I am not. I will go back after I sort the things I am working on. It will be take a few weeks. Why are you talking about me. You also live far away from your parents.”
“It’s different. My mom has already visited me for 4 times in last 2 months. It’s embarrassing at this point, she treats me like a little child.”
“That’s what you are.”
Andrea kicked him under the table when she heard it.
“And what does that make you?”
Liking little gi…. No.
“A babysitter.”
Brian countered and Andrea giggled.
