Brian met Andrea and Betty who had tagged along.

I didn’t mean that she could be the third wheel when I asked her to be together.

Its alright, she is easy on the eyes, maybe I can.. She is her bestie, stop Brian, don’t be that guy.

Brian was having bad thoughts about Betty while they had their dinner

Andrea felt that they should address the elephant in the room, Kevin’s death had a huge impact on their lives.

“Didn’t we get lucky?”

Brian heard what Andrea was saying.

Yup, totally lucky. Definitely died due to drug overdose.

I dindu nuffin.

“He couldn’t have harmed us in anyway, still, it’s good that he isn’t around anymore.”

“I haven’t left the campus forever, I feel like. Why don’t we go out sometime.” Andrea suggested.

Brian was about to answer when Betty chipped in. She had to show her value to Andrea, there weren’t many chances when she could overshadow Brian.

“I grew up here. I will show you around. I will bring my mom’s car, we can go shopping.”

“Yeah, totally. I want to have my hair done and whatnot. Aren’t we going to the beach. I don’t know about you two, but I definitely want good pictures for my gram.” Andy added.

I am definitely not accompanying them for this. It is already sounding like a nightmare. Going around shoppingnope.

“I wish I could be with you guys but, unfortunately I have some things to finish regarding my work project.” Brian tried dodging

Such a showoff, I work in my freshmen year, look at me now, ain’t I the best.

Betty felt a little jealous when she heard Brian but replied in a different time.

“What’s the project anyway?”

“It’s not a secret, I have a startup that’s working with a friend. Personally, I am working on a translation software but it’s not available right now.”

Is this Brian a genius. He does not seem to be. His skin looks good though. What am I thinking. Yuck. It must be for better resume, mom told me something similar.

Betty thought after she heard Brian.

“You aren’t kidding right. I feel so insecure. I don’t even understand my classes and you are already working.”

Betty sounded jealous while Andrea felt a little proud after hearing what she said.

Why is Brian making it seem like it’s a small thing. Didn’t he say that he will be really successful.

“When will it be launched?”

“It’s already done but I can’t show you right now. I don’t have the full data with me, it’s not accessible remotely and I can’t take you to the lab. Don’t worry, It hould be up and running in a month or two. There’s a better product, I will.just bring that one next time.”

“Great.”

Betty shifted the topic to the beach visit. She already felt bored with all this tech stuff, she didn’t want Brian to hog all the spotlight.

“I saw the Instagram of girls who visited the beach last week,they had fun, some of them even went for surfing but, mostly swimming or kayaking. What do you guys prefer?”

“I am not even trying anything that’s too much work. Do you know any good joints to eat?” Andrea vetoed any exercise for herself.

How can a little body handle so much food. I can try surfing, it should be easier this time with this stronger body.

“I would like to catch some waves.” Brian had tried it once in his last life but he was sure that this time, with improved control over his body, the results would be different

“Huh, aren’t you from Nevada?”

“So, I have tried it once.”

“Ah, so you are a kook. How cute.”

Brian didn’t know what she said but it didn’t sound good.

Andrea interjected on his behalf.

“What’s a kook?”

“People who think they are good at surfing but are ba.. different.”

She called me noob. I knew it. Nothing good comes out of her mouth.

“We will see, who is the kook next weekend.” Betty didn’t know she had offended her dad with the “kook” quip.

“I won’t be a kook if I don’t try it right?” Andrea had her own agenda to push but it lightened the mood.

Finally, they walked back to the dorm.

Isn’t this Betty a third wheel? I can’t do stuff with her around.Even Andrea was realising it by the time they were going back since they always did things before separating.

Andrea didn’t want to bring Brian back to the dorm despite the fact that she wanted to do those things with Brian.

What if it gets loud, Betty will definitely know about it. I can’t stay quiet, he makes me forget where I am. Last time, I almost lose my cool.

They decided to go to the Andrea’s room since she was the link between the three but when Brian wanted to go in.

Entry was denied.

The death had caused the authorities to stop any kind of partying for sometime. Kevin didn’t stop bothering Brian even from his grave.

“You guys go in. I will go back. There’s no point in forcing it. It’s already on national TV. The university doesn’t want any scandal right now so they are being careful.”

As they were separating, Andrea stood on her toes to land a peck on Brian’s lips. Brian felt the wet lips and was to grab her waist but she fled like a cat whose tail had been stepped on. She had used up all her courage in doing it, she couldn’t let Betty realise who was walking in front of her.

Brian just smiled as he watched them walk into the glass door before he turned and left.
