Fantastic Life Tycoon - Chapter 46

The next few days were uneventful with Brian just attending classes with Andy and Betty. There was hardly any privacy for Andrea and Brian because of the changed dorm rules.

Kevin had transformed from a small time gansgter to a victim of drug abuse, the candle marches happening in the campus were a proof to how people could be influenced.

Today was the day that Andrea and Betty would go shopping. Coincidentally, it was also the day when Brian had to go for an office meeting. Brian was almost ready to leave for it.

It’s like Laura knew what I wanted. I didn’t have to make up a fake meeting to dogde the shopping. I hope they have completed the work I asked them to do.

Brian called a robot to take him to the office address.

When Brian entered the office this time, it was different from before. There were around 10 people, young faces, most of them looked less than 30. Brian walked further in before he saw the familiar faces, Laura and Edwin.

” Guys, this is Mr Brian West. He is our CEO.” Edwin stood up and spoke to the people around him. It was an open office with tables close by. Brian smiled and nodded as he looked at everyone.

Laura saw that Brian was here and her heart beat accelerated a little, thinking of what they had done last week while feeling relieved simultaneously. The relief was for a very different reason.

She had heard that a boy died due to OD, she thought could it be Brian but felt that Brian didn’t look like someone who could die, he was more the killer type, she cursed herself for acting like a little school girl when thinking about him.

“Hello, Miss Green. You are looking as beautiful as ever.” Brian came to Laura before he spoke lightly.

Laura just smiled and invited him into the conference room and the rest of the team followed as well.

She offered Brian the head position and Brian took it as he saw the chairs fill up.

A glass table. Can’t play footsie here. What a bummer.

Edwin sat opposite to Laura and introducedthe people who had been recruited. Most of them had experience working in advertising. A basic skeletal structure of a company had been set up. A lawyer was also part of the discussion.

Laura began the meeting by reporting the test results.

“The sleep studies being conducted have the same data as the test results given by the research team. The studies till now have only been done on about 50 people even after we collaborated with institutes around California. I want to continue the study just to be sure.”

Everyone looked at Brian.

“Yes, continue it but send me the results of the 50 tested. The website is ready to go up as soon as we deal with some minor matters.”

“Edwin, you carry on now.” Laura passed the ball.

“My team has studied our product. I am basing the campaign on the fact that our product is 100% safe. Since, our product is related to sleep, we can portray it as a basic necessity since 1/3 of our life is spent sleeping. We can popularise studies about effects of better sleep. I want it to be an item which everybody needs. We can ofcourse segment our product based on the quality of fibre or battery life if that could be an option. I had also contacted a few renowned designers. These are the designs which we got. I wanted your opinion on it.”

The designs were of all types with magic hats in them to magic wands. Brian didn’t like them much. There was a simpler design with words Magic much bigger than Tech.

“Mail me this design. We own the rights for using it right? It will probably be changed a little before we using it for now.”

‘Yes, they are paid for. Our company isn’t famous right now, otherwise we could hold an online competition for designing the logo with a big cash prize.”

“Don’t worry about it for now. How is the store redesign working.”

“I have rented the neighbouring stores to merge them Together. This should also be a temporary solution since it still won’t be big enough for the ambitions of our company. It’s fine for now. It can be opened tomorrow. There are 10 testing beds with fogged glass so maximum privacy and an alarm bell which automatically rings after a door is closed for 10 minutes. The occupied beds will also show a light so people can see if their is any free one. Thel lights will be based on traffic lights, red and green. With red being occupied and green is empty bed.”

“This seems good enough. You can open the store. The employee which was already working there should continue working. You can call this number for any stock issues. When will the ad be shot?”.

“none of us have filming experience. We will have to hire a studio to help us with it. Our finances are already stretching thin.”

“Ms Green. Now that we have the sleep studies, what do your friends at the bank say.”

“A 10 million loan can be done easily”

“Try to aim for more. Half of it will be for the research team at this stage. You already know the cost of improving the production line. It will take about 15 million to double our daily production from 1500 to 3000.”
