Fate/Heroes - Chapter 31
“As I said before, you are welcome to stay for the party if you three so dėsɨrė. However please try and keep yourselves well behaved for the duration of the event. In the eyes of the public, I am trying to raise money for orphans all across the city. Although I doubt you will, I can never be too careful when dealing with….. minors”.
Gray was surprised when he received a glare that could stop a bull in its tracks when he was about to refer to the three as “children” rather than minors.
Kara he could understand considering she was technically older than Gray, but still, Mareena and Cassie eyed the twenty year old with a narrowed stare that would make almost any other man quake in their boots.
“And what about in private hmm? I doubt someone like you would care too much what other people think about you”.
Cassie’s voice resounded from behind a slightly open door that Gray has left open, giving the girls time to change from their casual clothes to a slightly more formal attire. This was Gray’s event after all, he didn’t want “children” running around in the face of New York’s elite.
He sat on his island table on the east side of his penthouse. The west side level of the highest floor of the building was just one massive room currently being outfitted with tables and decorations fitting for someone of his “statue”, even if it only was just a facade.
The rest of the penthouse level, the east side was Gray’s home, for lack of a better word. It was also where he kept his money, treasures and any other item of value that he may be interested in. Although the latter part of was a work in process seeing as though he didn’t have anything of particular value.
“Maybe I should try and collect artifacts that could be used as catalysts? Although they’d have to be a Grail War for me to even attempt to summon a Servant….. Is there a Throne of Heroes in this universe?”.
The question did befuddle Gray but he threw those thoughts to the back of his mind.
He heard the door open behind him and opened his mouth to speak but found himself unable to bring together the words to even describe the visage in front of him.
A foreign sounding seductive voice stepped out from behind the door.
“What’s this about a Servant?”.
Achilles gulped using Gray’s throat.
The three girls that came through the empty bedroom that Gray had set up had completely transformed, in both appearance, and demeanor. Their presence, which couldn’t be hidden by such normal looking clothing was enhanced by mȧturė dresses and light makeup. They didn’t look like “children” anymore, thought Achilles….
Cassie, who had the most developed figure of the three, wore a loose fitting black dress that was held up by one strand of string on each shoulder. While trying to hide her curves, which neither of her two friends had, it only made one want to look more, to try and find said curves. Her lips were a darker shade than Gray had previously seen, indicating the use of a dark red lipstick.
Mareena, the princess of Atlantis and daughter of Aquaman, wore a pale blue dress that contrasted nicely with the color of her eyes. Out of the three, she had the most gentle personality, while also being able to remain strong under pressure. Unlike the former’s, Mareena’s dress hugged her body quite nicely and emphasized everything that she lacked when compared to Cassie.
All three looked like the goddesses Gray saw in the memories of his Class Cards. Not losing in the slightest to Scathach or Tamamo-no-Mae in the slightest.
The three saw Gray’s emotionless expression falter for a moment, before he cleared his throat and turned the other way, reaching for the top shelf drinks he had on the tallest shelf.
They all gave each other a smile and walked over to Gray sitting down on the island bench where he was previously sitting.
“Can we get a glass?”, asked Mareena, a strange pleasant edge in her voice.
Gray, who had his hand placed on a bottle raised an eyebrow at the Atalantean who gave him a demure smile in return.
“Club soda only”.
With a speed far greater than any normal human’s, three glasses, filled to the brim with bubbling carbonated water, with a little bit of lime on the side appeared in front of the three girls, with Gray pouring his own alcoholic beverage on the side.
Kara eyed her drink, and then looked at the drink Gray was pouring for himself and her eyes widened as she exclaimed,
“That’s alcohol from Daxam! How did you come into contact with stuff from off-world!”.
Wondergirl leaned over the island bench, giving Gray a full view of her personality as well as her face.
“Can you spare a glass for little ol’ me? I promise I won’t tell”.
The girl fluttered her eyes and bit her bottom lip as she looked up at Gray’s black eyes, a sliver of emotion flowed through them as he looked straight at into Cassie’s piercing blue ones.
“No”.
Closing the bottle, the young man took a swig of the alien alcohol, feeling a strong fire grow in this throat and a buzzing sensation to cause him to lean back on the bench behind him.
He scrunched up his face and saw Kara reaching out to grab the Daxam alcohol, before she used her super speed to return to her seat faster than the alcohol-induced Gray could see.
He sighed.
“No matter what universe I’m in, all teenagers are the same….”.
Due to his Pseudo-Servant physiology, the effects of the alien alcohol vanished after several minutes, but he put the bottle back on the top shelf, smiling a little at the effects of a single sip. If only a single sip did that, how much would the entire bottle, thought Gray.
He glanced at the girls drinking their club soda’s before his eyes darted towards the analog clock on the wall.
“Are you three still going to follow me around? Don’t you have places to see and people to meet?”.
The line of questioning surprised the three girls, but all of them shook their heads.
“Not really. I have a feeling that something eventful will happen soon, so we don’t want to miss out on all the fun”.
Mareena gave Gray a disarming smile before looking at the clock that Gray was staring at.
“Is something wrong Graham? Isn’t the party about to start?”.
The people that Gray had invited to the event had already arrived and were waiting on Gray’s arrival. He liked to wait until everybody showed up before making an appearance. He also had too wait for Cassie, Mareena and Kara, who took longer than he thought to get ready.
If it wasn’t for the three of them, he might’ve already arrived at the party next door.
The twenty year old looked at himself in the reflection of his window. A young man, tall dark and handsome if the words of Caster were to be trusted stood in front of her. Long raven locks that reached just below the collar and deep black eyes that couldn’t be read, not with the amount of experience hidden behind them.
A completely black suit, from the shirt to the shoes, everything was black. Leaving only his jade like skin from his face and the slightly rougher skin of his calloused hands.
The memories of his Class Cards weren’t always pretty after all.
“Just have fun. There’s no point in worrying”.
He turned around and headed down the hallway Cassie, Mareena and Kara had head down earlier.
His party awaited.
The distance between the ones targeting him and Gray slowly shortened.
