Fate/Heroes - Chapter 41
The sound of gunfire echoed on the beach of Themiscyra. The screams and shouts of women could be heard from any spot on the hidden island. Despite their enhanced strength, speed and agility, in the face of fully automatic weaponry, as well as copies of Noble Phantasms the Amazons were forced to take a defensive position, the heavy gunfire shredding their natural cover minute by minute.
The light armored bodies of their sisters lay dead on the beach, the beautiful young looking women whom they had spent thousands of years with.
A burning rage filled the eyes of the remaining Amazons. The sound of bows firing from the top of the cliff above them twanging, shortly following the sound of bodies hitting the ground behind them.
Hippolyta beautiful face was marred with sweat and blood. Not hers, but the blood of the heathens who supported that mad-man Ares.
Turning her head slightly the Queen of the Amazons looked at the figure of her daughter, covered in dirt blood, just like the rest of her people. She rushed into the battle headstrong, the same sword and shield in hand she had the say she left. Her face was marred with a ferocious expression as she initially knocked out her opponents, letting them keep their lives as a mercy.
But the moment one of the other Amazons took a bullet for her, a powerful aura came out of the demigod, flooding the entire area with her divine power.
Diana was the daughter of Zeus, lightning posed no threat to her. While not completely bulletproof, her superhuman reflexes allowed her to block bullets coming from all directions, her shield and vanbraces without a single dent due to their supernatural origins.
Wonder Woman sliced another human with a trace of her half-brothers power in them. The injury that she dealt out would be fatal, if they didn’t get medical attention in the next few minutes.
She roared out as she was encircled by dozens of metahumans. All wearing a four-horned helmet as they glared at Diana, lascivious looks in their eyes.
“The God of War said that although you can’t belong to anyone in particular, we’re free to do whatever we what to you when we capture you, hehehehe”.
It wasn’t easy to fight dozens of metahumans, some whose powers stacked and others whose strength had been enhanced to even her own level.
Those that could manipulate metal tried to force Diana to stop by manipulating her armor and weapons to stay still. Those with telepathy tried to break threw her steel trap of a mind, distracting her from the blows that were sent her way. Those with superhuman speed and strength attacked the demigod from all sides, swapping out every time she landed a blow on the members of the Church of Areopagus.
Diana had been fighting for well over an hour by now, and her back was up against the wall. She had already unleashed her Divinity through her vanbraces multiple times already, draining her stamina quicker than normally.
And she hadn’t even once laid eyes on Ares. Her half-brother who started World War II by whispering destructive thoughts into the hearts of influential personal.
She looked back at the cliff side, her piercing blue eyes met her mothers if only for a moment before turning back towards the oncoming waves of metahumans.
She let out a deep breath, her figure attracted the gaze of all the combatants on the beach. Both her forces and the Church of Areopagus’.
“Don’t falter! Themiscyra is protected by Zeus himself! Do not fall in the face of-“.
A loud bang echoed throughout the battlefield. The Amazons had grown used to the extremely loud sound of gunfire as it rained down upon them, but they all turned to look at the louder than normal bang that had come from a nearby ship. Diana’s eyes widening in fright as her irises darted towards the incoming projectile, the target of which was not her.
Wonder Woman leaped off the ground, surpassing any metahuman power that bȧrėd weight on her body. Her arm extended towards the line the 50 caliber bullet, slipping in between the gaps of her fingers as her eyes widened in shock.
“Mother!”.
Hippolyta instantly stopped her words and turned to face her daughter that was standing in her line of sight. Despite being the Queen of the Amazons and a demigod in her own right, she did not possess the same level of power as her daughter. The faint blurry image of a projectile caught her eye, aimed straight at her ċhėst.
It grew closer and closer, and Diana’s screams blurred out the sound of everything else on the battlefield. The formerly white sandy beaches of Themiscyra were now covered in the blood of her sisters.
The Queen of the Amazons closed her eyes and let out a shallow breath, a relaxed expression on her face. Ready to accept her fate as the bullet grew closer and-.
“Today is not your day to die”.
A gush of wind blew over the Amazonian Queen instead of a painful feeling through her ċhėst. Somehow the bullet had been blocked, and she opened her eyes instantly and the image of a warrior she hadn’t seen in over thousand years came to mind.
Spiky green colored hair which fell down like bangs on the left side of his face. Beautiful golden-amber eyes which looked more like gems rather than irises. A handsome smirk which both intrigued her and caused a seed of anger to bloom in her heart. Light armor only seen on cavalry or warriors that boast speed covered his body. A single red cloth fluttered in the wind and a electric green lightning coursed off his body.
The entire battlefield grew still at the arrival of this new warrior. Her blocked a killing blow against the enemy commander, so the members of the Church of Areopagus instantly took him for an enemy.
This figure walked forward slowly, his boots crunching the sand as he patiently walked towards the battlefield.
A metahuman, whose ability was to absorb kinetic energy and store it as fat hobbled towards the green haired young man, a playful grin on his face. It raised its hand above his head and swung at the figure, the image of him going flying as his pretty face bleed uncontrollably went through his mind.
A passive expression was on this figures face, as a strange intent flashed through his eyes.
With a B+ rank Strength and a A rank Endurance, the young man caught the blow of the enlarged man, sending a look of shock to go through the eyes of many metahumans.
A rather attractive voice came out of the young man’s mouth. Green lightning streaked around his body as his tall figure disappeared before reappearing behind the large mound of fat.
“Hector would be disappointed…..”.
Blood spurted out from the large man’s neck, his head rolling onto the floor as a spear appeared in Gray’s hands.
He turned back to the other members, all wearing the same four-horned helmet as their so-called “One True God of War”.
With a single flourish of his spear, a massive line appeared on the sand, cutting the battlefield in half, with him, Diana and the other Amazons on one side, and the ships with the members of the Church of Areopagus on the other.
“The next person to cross this line, will hand over thy head”.
