Father, I Won’t Do Anything - Chapter 6
“I’m sorry, but could you give me a blanket? I need something to cover me up when I sleep.”
“What? Are you trying to sleep here? This isn’t a place for people to sleep. Especially for a young lady like you.”
“It’s okay. I’m stronger than I look.”
“No, but…..”
The maid hurriedly tried to warm up Jayna.
She didn’t say that she was the daughter of the Tower Lord, and even when the maid knew that tower’s people hated interferences, she was here, openly showing her concern to the kid in front of her.
She seemed like a warmhearted person. Jayna was grateful for her feelings, but she shook her head again.
“It’s really all right. Most of all, Michael wanted this place.”
“But….”
When Michael was mentioned, the maid hesitated, unable to speak.
The maid still wanted to warm up Jayna while handing over the blanket, but Jayna waved her hand and closed the door.
Jayna was fine with this room. Rather, she wanted to praise Michael for choosing the place wisely.
As he said, in her current situation, if she had occupied a room in the central tower, it would have been against Diamide’s will.
And now Jayna had no time to see the table in the room. It was because this situation was so touching.
‘It’s the first time I’ve ever had a room by myself since I was born.’
In her previous life and even in this life, Jayna had always been a fool. For her, a private room was just a luxury that she could never dream of.
‘It’s too late today, so it’ll be rude to make a noise now. Let’s just borrow cleaning tools tomorrow and clean up the cobwebs and dust in the corner.’
Pull
It turned out that the blanket that adults used to cover them was very large for a small body.
‘Ah- it finally came out.’
As the tension was relieved, a large tail crawled out.
Other places were okay, but the tail was a part that humans don’t have, so sometimes it came out like this whenever I relax.
“Ha.”
Beyond the window, I could see the long shadow of the garden trees I saw earlier in the library.
‘I’m glad I came to the tower without saying a word.’
I felt much more comfortable than when I lived in a Balaur village, and there were many things I could enjoy.
‘I wish my days could continue to be just like today.’
Even though it was spring, the night was still chilly.
Jayna curled up as she looked at the shadows swaying in various shapes by the wind.

The next morning, Jayna came to the restaurant and met Michael.
He smiled lightly and raised his head to look at Jayna.
She inherited the blood of the Balaur, and with her sensitive ears, she heard the wizards around them gossiping.
It’s surprising that Michael, who always ate with his reagents, now came to the restaurant after yesterday,
“Hey Kid, did you sleep well yesterday?”
He didn’t even look at the food in front of him but only looked at her.
No matter how, it looked like he didn’t come here to eat, but to meet Jayna.
“Yes.”
As Jayna replied, tearing the bread hard with her little hand, Michael pulled himself even forward.
“Earlier I heard it was a narrow warehouse used by servants. Are you okay? Doesn’t the long branches and the trees look like ghosts? But it might be real. Wizards were also gossiping about it whenever they passed there.”
Jayna remembered the scenery of the trees in the garden through the window last night.
Certainly it would be scary for a child to live alone in that desolate, cold room. But she found the room quite nice.
Jayna opened her mouth as she looked at Michael looking at her with an anticipation.
“The room yesterday…”
As she put the bread in her mouth, she saw a man, raising her head lightly.
It was Moben.
As he was kicked out of the library yesterday, he looked at Michael and her with a glaring glance.
‘Should I ask Michael about him?’
It wasn’t due to good intention, but there are times when Michael can help me. If so, should I use it?
Jayna looked at Moben for a short moment, but naturally turned her gaze as if she doesn’t notice him.
“It was a good room. I like trees. I appreciate your consideration.”
“You…. Aren’t you afraid of ghosts?”
“The living are scarier than the dead.”
Jayna replied, recalling the words she often heard in Korea.
“You are really beyond your age, you speak like an old man.”
Jayna wriggled her small hands under the table.
“It’s the first time I’ve ever had a room by myself.”
Michael’s expression became weird when he heard that.
“What? First time? You belong to a dragon’s family, and it’s not like there’s only one or two rooms to dwell there.”
“Yeah I know, that’s right.”
Michael seemed to be on a thought with a suspicious gaze, and then immediately said to himself, ‘What do you know?’
“I don’t know anymore. The strangest thing is your personality. Are all the dragons like you?” (Michael)
“I’ll ask one question too. Are all pure-blooded humans like Michael-nim?”
“What did you say? Like Michael-Nim?”
Michael frowned and stretched his words long. Then Jayna asked back with an innocent face as if she knew nothing.
“Ah. If the title was unpleasant, I’ll correct it. So, are all pure-blooded humans like you*?”
T/l: She used an informal way to say you.
“You!”
Michael jumped as if Jayna’s title was unpleasant.
“Why am I that way to you? You cheeky bastard!” (Michael)
“Then what should I call you? I can’t call you brother right.”
“That…. !”
Michael, who was about to refute, kept his mouth shut as if he was speechless.
He mocked Jayna’s birth yesterday. No matter how many times you saw it or heard it, it wasn’t what ‘Brother’ in blood should do. He opened his mouth but was unable to say anything.
‘Huh…..?’
When Michael, who is known for loosing his temper easily, hesitated, Jayna looked at Michael with a puzzled face.
The two, who were busy staring at each other’s faces, did not notice that someone was approaching them.
“Oh my goodness. You’re having a lot of fun, can you put this old lady in too?”
A woman who naturally came through the soundproof walls casted by Michael, approached their table.
She said she was just an old lady, but her sleek, white face looked so cute that she could be mistaken to be in her twenties.
Only the hair was white, but it was waving softly like a gift in the light. Jayna faintly noticed that it was indicative of her original age.
“What? This guy is stupid and noisy every day. That’s why I am interested in this new child.” (Hilvenzia)
Noguemui Hilvenzia.
With her pale green eyes, she turned her head towards Jayna.
“I thought you enjoyed my food for only one day which was yesterday, but it wasn’t. You ate a lot today too.”
Her gaze briefly touched the empty plate where the bread was put before.
“Hi. Are you the kid that is said to be the daughter of the Tower Lord?”
“You already knew it so I have nothing more to say.”
Hilvenzia smiled, bending around her eyes.
“I love the Balaur. Did you know that the first reagent was mixed with dragon blood?”
“I also know that the sacred sword of the temple was made of dragon bones.”
“You’re a smart kid.”
Hilvenzia covered her mouth with a languid gesture. Her eyes were once again enchanting.
“And you have the guts.”
Hilvenzia reached out and stroked Jayna’s hair.
“I’m not that popular with children. You’re not afraid of me, are you?”
Jayna could feel her long fingernails grazing her scalp. She glanced up at Hilvenzia without avoiding her gaze.
“Should I be afraid?”
“Well. How about it?”
The hand that was stroking her hair came down and headed toward Jayna’s eyes.
“Blue eyes… It is the same color as the lord’s eyes. It’s a pretty color. I don’t know if the other places are similar. But even if it isn’t…”
Soon Hilvenzia stroked Jayna’s white cheek. The little face was all caught in the hands of Hilvenza.
“I’m quite interested in you.”
“Hey, old lady.” (Michael)
“Don’t interrupt me, Michael. I’m talking to her right now.” (Hilvenzia)
Hilvenzia said in a low voice, the smile disappeared from her face as she answered Michael.
“Aren’t you just playing with this child after all? Also I have a pretty important business, so can you get out of here?” (Hilvenzia)
“What’s up with you Old lady? Stay away from this little girl. Do you know her? When did you ever talk to her?” (Michael)
Michael’s fine face was roughly distorted.
As Michael didn’t retreat easily, a light of surprise passed on Hilvenzia’s face for a moment and then disappeared.
“Do not interrupt me? That’s what I should be saying. I was talking with this little kid first, What is this old lady saying?” (Michael)
A bloody energy spread from Michael’s surroundings. The overwhelming magical power even made the wizards in the restaurant stiffened.
As it was a tower with great talents, the nerve warfare between each other was great. They were the kind of people who thought it would be better to get hurt or even die than to break their prides.
‘How did they get caught up in a fight… .’
Jayna felt perflexed. The timing was not good. Hilvenzia approached her when Michael was still there.
“It’s obvious that the old lady is trying to take this little girl.” (Michael)
“What you were trying to do with this kid was also something else, wasn’t it?” (Hilvenzia)
“I at least don’t see it as a material.” (Michael)
“Material. Hm.”
Hilvenzia laughed at the words with a gentle smile.
“Ashrid, I think that’s what your relative wrote in the letter, right? Your hair looks pretty useful, too, but unfortunately it’s very short.” (Hilvenzia)
“Old lady!” (Michael)
“That’s not my real name but rather the one that was given to me by my relatives. Please call me Jayna, the name my mother gave me.” (Jayna)
While Jayna, the party concerned, answered quietly, the momentum coming from Michael grew more and more violent.
But Hilvenzia was still relaxed. No, rather she was making a more interesting expression.
As she covered Jayna with one hand, the magical power that seemed to crush her surroundings just a moment ago, vanished.
