Fenrir’s Journey: I Shall Devour The Heavens - Chapter 47
In the middle of her hunt for goods within the Fen Clan Manor, Fenrir sensed the presence of several enemies approaching. As for how she could tell they were enemies, it was that she could smell that the same scent as the man who had tried to attack her ice pillar the previous night. Fenrir had noticed that many of the people within the same Clan had very similar smells and the energy in their body gave her the same ‘feeling’. These people all smelled like ‘burning’ and Fenrir’s own internal energy activated whenever they were around, likely the result of their contrary affinities.
Leaping out from one of the buildings she had been searching, Fenrir looked up into the sky and saw thirty-one people, most of them standing on swords. The only exception to this was the man standing at the very front, who was able to stay in the sky using his own energy. Even so, Fenrir wasn’t intimidated and immediately jumped up to meet them, coldly stating, “Leave this place, or I will come to your Sect next…”
Seeing the rather young woman who had just jumped up to meet them, many of the gathered members of the Flame Jade Sect were shocked, especially since she was able to stand on the air. This meant that she was, at the very least, the peak of the Foundation Establishment Realm, just like their Third Elder. However, given the fact that she had been able to destroy the Fen Clan, it was very likely this girl before them was even stronger, at least, assuming she was alone. The man at the head of the group, Huo Yan San, believed the girl before him must have some secret Master protecting her in the background. After all, she looked to be around the age of 14-16, making it almost impossible to consider her a ‘real’ threat.
Snorting, Huo Yan San responded, asking, “Tell me, lass, where is your Master? I can see that they used Ice Elemental Qi in their attacks, similar to the person who had murdered my son. I have come seeking a reckoning from them…I will give you three minutes to bring them to me before I force them out using you…” As he spoke, Huo Yan San and several of the Disciples behind him began to eye the woman before them up and down.
Though she was young, the girl had already become very attractive and, given the fact that she was able to stand in the air for so long, her cultivation realm was very high for her age. She must have a powerful cultivation method and, if they were able to capture her and extort her master, there was a chance they would be able to increase the overall level of their disciples in the future. At the very least, if the girl’s Master didn’t show up, they would be able to pry some information out of her. The methods with which information could be extracted from women…well, there were a few amongst their number that had gained some proficiency with those methods over the years…
Seeing the way they were looking at her, Fenrir took in a deep breath through her nose and closed her eyes for a few seconds. It was starting to seem like every man in this world was a despotic cur, so far removed from the image of her Master that it was genuinely disturbing. She didn’t understand how so many people could be so vile, even though they put on pretenses and tried to act ‘above’ everything. Now, Fenrir would show them the reality of the situation, laying them low upon the ground like the worms they were…
(Fenrir’s Commentary: ‘Not worms…nematodes…bacteria…disgusting…!’)
