Fenrir’s Journey: I Shall Devour The Heavens - Chapter 49
Like a midnight blue phantom, Fenrir dashed across the skies of Heavenly Moon City with the Flame Jade Sect as her goal. Though the City was much larger than the one from her previous world, it only took a few short minutes for Fenrir to reach her destination, standing high above the massive compound with her scarlet eyes reflecting the image of various people below. Because of the differences in her energy, nobody had even reacted to her arrival at first, giving her a short period of time to think about the actions she would take.
Fenrir was afraid she was getting too used to the idea of slaughtering people, something she knew her Master would often try to avoid. This time, she decided to reign in her anger and try to keep her mind calm, crippling anyone who stood in her way unless they seemed like monstrous people. She knew that, if a severe enough blow was dealt to their overall strength, other groups would step in to finish the job or, as was likely to be the case, the crippled members would flee. Fenrir wondered if, by living without their Cultivation, the people that had once considered themselves above everyone would become more humble…
After a few minutes, a group of people had come out from the interior of the Manor and jumped up to the sky to meet her. Leading the group of five, there was an elderly man with white hair and a long beard, both extending to his waist. Fenrir could sense he was even stronger than the woman she had fought at the Fen clan and wondered if he was their leader. When he gave a polite salute and asked, “Please, Young Miss, tell this Old Huo Yan Er what he could do for you. What brings you to our Flame Jade Sect today…?”
Snorting, Fenrir wasn’t willing to play games with the old man who smelled like he had been spending the last few years bathing in medicinal herbs. With a cold expression on her face, she turned her gaze over each of the five men, stating, “First, one of your members tried to drug and kidnap me in the middle of the night, even though I had never done anything to earn the ire of your Sect. Then, after I killed the fool for his attempt, another one of your members deigned to believe he could teach me a lesson while trying to steal what was mine. I gave them the option to back down and, as they had refused to listen to reason, I am here to make good on my promise…”
Forming a long and thin blade with her index finger, Fenrir focused her eyes on the elderly man in front and continued, “Since he had come to me seeking a reckoning, I am here at the Flame Jade Sect to seek one for myself. I have already destroyed the Fen Clan for harboring ill intentions towards me…now, you have the option of choosing if you will follow in their footsteps…” Towards the end of her words, Fenrir had moved forward with [Shundo] in an instant, cutting off the arm of one of the men who had tried to draw his sword. All five of them, including the man who just lost his arm, widened their eyes in shock as they saw her almost instantly move back into her initial position, the entire action taking less than .04 seconds to perform…
(Fenrir’s Commentary: ‘Maybe I shouldn’t be killing them so easily…perhaps it will be better for them to suffer, just as they had forced others to suffer…’)
