Fiance Is A Crime Lord - Chapter 20
“Alright Miss Peng, it looks as if you are both healthy and are showing no signs of any physical or mental damage. I would recommend seeing someone or just being more up front with your feelings when talking to close friends and family.”
“What you have been through today, is not your fault and you need to remember this. Our Flower Continent is filled with some very evil individuals, but please do not think that there are no good people in that mix from what you have experienced.”
“Your father made it clear that he would like both you and Yao Ling to head back once my checkup on you two concluded. In the meantime, I believe one of your uncles is at the house while your father is still stuck at the office for the remainder of the day. I am unsure if Yao Ling has any relatives close by, but I am only following my orders as well.”
“So if you can, please just wait outside as I conduct my checkup with Yao Ling. If you have any questions, please feel free to come by at a later date. I normally am unable to make house calls, and from your father’s request since he owns this hospital of mine, he would rather have you come down if anything occurs later.” the doctor told Peng Zedong as the two walked out of the room.
Usually, Crime Lords of course had quite a few family members, but Peng Zedong was in a much different set of circumstances. If her father had told her before that he was a Crime Lord and gave her proper guidance, Peng Zedong wouldn’t look as if she never experienced the fear of being tortured or severely injured.
Though there was never any way of knowing that someone else within Maple City would even think about targeting her or her friends, Peng Zedong’s father never felt the need to explain the situation to her. Being left in the dark since she was little, made her feel rather uneasy, but deep down, Peng Zedong wanted to understand her father’s decision.
She still had no idea why her mother had died so young, but Peng Zedong chose to continue putting pressure on her father to eventually tell her before she became too old. Feeling this pressure for so many years, Peng Zedong decided that soon, she would ask her father once more.
After several minutes, Yao Ling was escorted out of the room by the doctor and both were smiling. It seemed that the two got along fairly well, but this was to be expected since Yao Ling was a social butterfly. “Alright, you two are free to head back. I hope you both think hard about what we have discussed.” the doctor said as the two sisters were escorted to their car and driven back to the mansion.
With so many bodyguards now in the car with them, the sisters only gave a look at each other before both deciding to save the conversation for when they would be in a more private setting. This was the only way that they could guarantee that even if they were to get in trouble or scolded by their families, at least they could openly talk about what had happened with each other.
Back in her home, Peng Zedong continued to calm Yao Ling down. The guards at her house, told her to go up and wait in her room since her uncle was still running a little late due to meeting with her father just mere moments after hearing about what had occurred in Maple City. During this time in Peng Zedong’s room, Yao Ling started to cry for several minutes.
As this was happening, Peng Zedong thought back about how Zheng Qigang casually grabbed her as if she was his property. Yao Ling finally calmed down, decided to wipe away her tears before talking things out with her sister.
“I swear to you sister, when I discuss this matter with my father back home, he will send leagues of men to Maple City and will completely destroy whoever that man’s leader was who told him to bully us in such a way!” Yao Ling shouted out before punching the pillow next to her on Peng Zedong’s bed.
“You shouldn’t do anything rash, and I believe your grandfather will have his own say and ideas on how to handle this situation. I am unsure what the reason was, but I believe this trip of yours was not just to check in on me, I feel as if your grandfather needed to talk to my father about a few things.” Peng Zedong told her sister as she patted her head to calm her anger down.
“You know what Peng Zedong, you are right I am approaching this wrong. What I need to do is act as if I am not completely broken so that my family sees how strong I can be!” Yao Ling after thinking about what Peng Zedong had just told her responded with as a fierce aura shot out from her causing even Peng Zedong to feel somewhat scared.
