Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 18 Enlightenmen
Lu Fengyi turned quickly around to see grand elder Li striding through the door of the house while stroking his beard and laughing. “Perfect timing as usual, senior Li!” Lu Fengyi grinned before calling to the approaching grand elder.
“Haha, I’ve always been one to sense the right moment to intrude youngster. What I wanted to talk to you about was your broad knowledge upon the topic of cultivation.”
The grand elder took a seat opposite Lu Fengyi and Wang Ying, forming a small triangle before continuing, “After hearing your understanding, I’ve realised so many things that even now, I could improve on. If possible, could you talk a bit more upon cultivation?”
Wang Ying stared in awe. Grand elder Li had always been an extremely strict man to not only outsiders, but to the elders and even the clan head daily. The only exception to his strict nature was Wang Ying as not only was she quite the genius in cultivation, but grand elder Li had spoiled her ever since childhood. Now, in front of a child he had met less than an hour ago, he displayed this amicable attitude that one would display to a close friend.
Lu Fengyi nodded and was about to begin talking when Wang Ying quickly interrupted him, “Uncle Li! On the day that I found Zhang laoshi, I also met Lu Fengyi and during his conversation with Zhang laoshi, I realised that he knows the answer to a dilemma that you’ve had for a while.”
“Oh? Is that so? Lu Fengyi, I’ll be counting on you then.”
As both the grand elder and Wang Ying stared at Lu Fengyi, smiled hopelessly, “May I ask what dilemma would cause even the grand elder of the prestigious Wang clan to be unable to figure it out?”
Grand elder Li nodded, “The issue I’ve been having recently is that I’ve been unable to comprehend the phrase, circulating a cycle of qi, reflecting the sight of ten thousand creations. Does junior know how one would interpret this statement?”
Lu Fengyi quickly nodded before looking into the setting sun, “In fact, I do know how to interpret this statement, grand elder Li. It refers to the phenomenon where while one’s qi is circulating throughout one’s body in a complete cycle, one’s mind would seem to be in a state of wandering around the entire world as they comprehend the rules behind creationism. I read this in a book left behind by my father.”
As Lu Fengyi looked back towards the grand elder, he saw grand elder Li with a shocked expression upon his face before it transitioned to a contemplative one. Almost as if entering a cultivating state, grand elder Li sat up straight, cross-legged, and closed his eyes.
Noticing that the grand elder was not absorbing the surrounding energy, Wang Ying asked curiously, “Uncle Li? Is there something wrong?”
The grand elder did not respond, shutting his eyes tight as his confused expression became an enlightened one. Instantly after, the grand elder stood up and a surge of energy accompanied this action, sweeping away the leaves that had gathered upon the courtyard, forming a vortex of power. Soon, the surging energy died down and the leaves rained upon the trio.
Although there had been no evident breakthrough, Lu Fengyi and Wang Ying could feel a powerful aura from the grand elder standing only several meters away. “Hahaha! Brother Lu, your advice has given me insight and allowed me to break through the minor bottleneck that I had in my physical body cultivation. Thanks to you, I have now increased my strength by almost a single fold and my defensive abilities by half a fold.”
Lu Fengyi nodded, “It is not entirely my efforts. The main factor was due to grand elder Li being extremely close to breaking through in the first place. My advice only gave you a small push.”
“Brother Lu, you must not refer to me as grand elder. From now, we are brothers. You shall call me brother Li and I shall call you brother Lu.”
Wang Ying stared in shock. It had only been barely a minute and yet Lu Fengyi’s status had soared from a cultivation genius of the Hongtian academy to a brother of a prestigious grand elder of the Wang clan. And to think that she had begun developing embarrassing feelings towards this Lu Fengyi, only to have him become her uncle’s brother in a single minute. This was too exaggerated, was it not?
“I’ll have to thicken my skin then brother Li.”
“Mhm, it’s completely deserved brother Lu. After all, without your advice, I mightn’t be able to advance a single step in my life due to that bottleneck.”
As the newly formed brothers laughed and discussed what had just happened together, Wang Ying turned away and poured herself a cup of tea to drink. That’s right, tea was the only way to calm oneself after a shock.
“That’s right, I can’t take your profound advice for free. Are you lacking anything, brother Lu?”
Although Lu Fengyi was a bit hesitant to take up the offer due to his personal nature, he was truly lacking in solid, hard cash as of now. Deciding to take up the opportunity, Lu Fengyi thickened his skin to ask the grand elder, “Brother Li, I’m quite ashamed to say, however I am quite lacking in gold coins right now. I do not have enough to even buy a meat bun on the roadside. If you’re willing, that would be the most optimal for me.”
“Of course, that is no problem. Since you are currently short on cash, I’ll provide you with some more from my own pocket.”
Grand elder Wang Li pulled out a small bag of jingling coins before handing it to Lu Fengyi, who had his head bowed low, thanking him for his grace.
Seeing that Lu Fengyi had hung the bag of coins upon his waist strap, Wang Li looked at the sun which had just set below the mountains and called out to the two youngsters, “Ying’er, brother Li, the dinner should be ready, follow me to the dining hall.”
Although Lu Fengyi had already set his expectations quite high, the Wang clan was able to completely surpass his expectations once more. With high piled delicacies and no lack of elegant servants, Lu Fengyi was once again overwhelmed with the sheer grandeur of a prestigious clan. Throughout the meal, Lu Fengyi had been sat down next to Wang Ying due to some string pulling from the grand elder, who displayed a thumbs up towards him before leaving towards his own seat. Countless elders had pressed their own urgent questions towards Lu Fengyi regarding the matter of cultivation and by the time the dinner had finished, most of the elders had broken through in one way or another.
Lu Fengyi finally understood the advantage that a knowledgeable transcendent had over every single other person in the world.
