Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 27 Addressing The Illness
Zhao Yanfeng struggled through the rubble of the wall, sitting himself up and checking quickly for any severe injuries. Other than a dull pain in his side, Zhao Yanfeng sighed in relief as he realised that there were no major issues.
Rushing up to Lu Fengyi, Zhao Yanfeng cried out in despair, “Aren’t you a first year student? How can you be so powerful?”
Lu Fengyi smiled before gesturing wordlessly towards Zhang Xuan.
Scratching his head in confusion, Zhang Xuan decided to play it out casually, “Indeed, this student has improved under my tutelage.”
“But that’s not possible! When I was your student, you almost made my cultivation go berserk!”
Zhao Yanfeng was almost about to pull his hair out from the roots, ‘Back when I was your student, the theories you taught me were shallow and did not have much meaning at all, you also drove my cultivation to go berserk. Yet only half a year later, you’re able to impart such powerful moves upon a freshman? Isn’t this a little unfair?’
“I believe that Zhang laoshi has a perfectly good explanation for why he drove your cultivation berserk, so I ask you to listen to him.” Lu Fengyi put on a serious face.
‘This kid is really too bright! No only is he standing up for my pride, he’s also helping me use the Library of Heaven’s Path! If it wasn’t for the fact that I’m in another world, I would’ve suspected him to be something like a game master.’
Zhang Xuan silently praised Lu Fengyi in his head before speaking, “Zhao Yanfeng. Do you wish to know why I drove your cultivation berserk?”
“Of course!” Zhao Yanfeng decided internally to trust this teacher that he had hated and despised for many months.
“If I were to tell you that you had Innate Sealed Meridians when I met you, would you be able to recall anything?”
Zhao Yanfeng sneered, “I already told you earlier, I’ve never felt any issues with my body when I was your students.”
“Hmm? What if I were to ask, before your cultivation went berserk, did you feel short of breath when you cultivated in the past? Every time you gather spiritual energy, did you feel as though your entire body was being severed apart?”
Zhao Yanfeng’s jaw dropped in surprise, “H-how did you know?”
“I’m your teacher, why wouldn’t I know?” Zhang Xuan tilted his head at a 45 degree angle.
Realising how rude he had been before, Zhao Yanfeng quickly bowed, “Sorry, I was extremely rude earlier. Please continue with your explanation.
Noting Zhao Yanfeng’s change in attitude, Zhang Xuan nodded before continuing, “Does everyone know the symptoms of one’s cultivation going berserk? The symptoms are that one’s internal energy will go on a rampage and become uncontrollable, causing one to lose his sense of self and going into a deranged condition.”
Lu Fengyi feigned a contemplative expression before speculating, “Go on a rampage… it couldn’t be. Could it be that you were trying to make use of the symptoms of going berserk in order to clear Zhao Yanfeng’s clogged meridians?”
Zhang Xuan’s eyes twinkled in awe at the boy’s comprehension ability, “Once again, the speed of your understanding truly leaves me in awe. You’ll become quite powerful in the future.”
“Thank you teacher.”
Turning back to Zhao Yanfeng, Zhang Xuan made a dismissive gesture, “So do you realise why I drove your cultivation berserk now?”
“Yes, Zhang laoshi,” Zhao Yanfeng’s eyes reddened. All of the doubts Zhao Yanfeng had of Zhang Xuan cleared from his mind and within the depths of his heart, he was convinced that all that Zhang Xuan had did for him was for his own good.
‘To think that I doubted such a noble teacher to the point of even insulting him! I’m no different, no… I’m worse than a beast! I must have been blind then to leave this teacher before going to acknowledge Lu Xun laoshi. If a chance presented itself, I will withdraw from Lu Xun laoshi’s lessons and return back to Zhang laoshi.’
Although Zhao Yanfeng would usually continue being quite sceptical of Zhang Xuan, the clear cut theories that Zhang laoshi put forward were simply impossible to refute. Not only that, but Zhang Xuan’s student, Lu Fengyi, was such a powerhouse that even most of the third years would not be able to match up to him.
How could a teacher with such powerful students be a trash teacher?
Seeing the almost tearing Zhao Yanfeng, Zhang Xuan sighed before indicating for the red-eyed boy to follow him into one of the rooms on the side.
“Is there something you need, Zhang laoshi?” Zhao Yanfeng questioned.
“Sit down. As an apology for causing you to experience going berserk without your consent, I will help you breakthrough now.”
Zhao Yanfeng’s eyes narrowed in surprise, however he contentedly sat down cross-legged on the floor. Seconds later, Zhao Yanfeng felt several needles lightly pierce his flesh before the energy within his body began to circulate at impossible speeds. Within no time, his body had absorbed enough energy to make of for months of his normal training. With an aura burst, Zhao Yanfeng stood up abruptly before yelling loudly within the room.
As the two stepped out of the room, each of the onlookers noticed something vastly different. Although Zhang Xuan’s hair seemed to be slightly more dishevelled than before, the main difference was not from him, but from Zhao Yanfeng. When Zhao Yanfeng first arrived, he was still Juxi realm pinnacle, and yet his current aura said otherwise.
Elder Shang stuttered a few times before managing to speak his thoughts, “D-Da-Dantian realm?”
“What?”
“How could this be.”
“Although that child was Juxi pinnacle, he was still far off from breaking through. How did Zhang laoshi…”
Zhao Yanfeng leapt towards the centre of the room before pointing his finger at Lu Fengyi, “Now, let us duel once more!”
“Alright!” Lu Fengyi walked up to Zhao Yanfeng before stopped several steps short.
Again, with a roar, Zhao Yanfeng sped towards Lu Fengyi with speedy steps. If he had been a jogging man before, he was now a sprinting shepherd dog. Bolting from his standstill position, Zhao Yanfeng had arrived before Lu Fengyi in the blink of an eye.
Although the Wang clan was still confident in Lu Fengyi’s ability, they couldn’t help but be a little worried.
“Haha! It looks like it’ll be my win now!” Zhao Yanfeng moved his fist into the same punching position from before, locking onto Lu Fengyi’s chest in order to prevent fatal injuries, knocking the boy back at most.
Zhao Yanfeng’s abilities were evidently much greater than before, yet if one were to describe the difference between the previous Lu Fengyi and the current one, ascension wouldn’t even be an exaggeration.
Performing the exact same spin manoeuvre and the exact same, powerful roundhouse kick, Lu Fengyi slammed the vulnerable Zhao Yanfeng into the wall once more.
Zhao Yanfeng felt tears well up within his eyes, ‘Are you serious? I just powered up several fold but you simply match my ability and kick me again? Not only that but you slam me into the exact same wall? Brother, can you be any more ruthless?’
