Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 38 Date
Lu Fengyi sighed sadly, still annoyed at the limit to his cultivation that he had been set. While the system had no restricted him from continuing his cultivation independently, it would be without the Cultivation Affinity. With his current available resources, it was a pipe dream if he wanted to continue advancing from Zhizhun realm pinnacle.
As one who often played games that were still in beta, Lu Fengyi had an instinctive nature to find loopholes. Thinking that he had found one in the system, Lu Fengyi had instantly tried to exploit it, only to be met with a pre-prepared restriction. The Fictional Transcension System was a system that existed for who knows how long after all. It would be ridiculous to still have such obvious loopholes.
Seeing that he had nothing to do in the room, Lu Fengyi strode out in the direction of the village. Since he couldn’t cultivate, the best thing to do was to either gain more ranks like the official apothecary status or to buy some goods for future use.
Although he had already obtained the cultivation of Zhizhun realm pinnacle, something way beyond anyone in the entire kingdom, Lu Fengyi still did not dare to openly display his cultivation and prowess. Even though he may be fast, those with decent cultivation would still be able to see him and if he was exposed, who knew if it were would spiral into something way more major than what he could handle.
Having already limited his cultivation aura down to Dantian realm pinnacle, Lu Fengyi ran effortlessly from the school grounds to the village, not even stopping to take a break. One had to know that a Dantian realm pinnacle cultivator would still require breaks from time to time, however since Lu Fengyi’s true cultivation was miles higher, there was virtually no problem with him running for several days on end!
Upon entering the village, a rumble of footsteps followed by shouts and calls sounded from every direction.
“Look! It’s the Elite Student!”
“He looks really young, however I can feel the cultivation radiating from him. He’s a genius!”
“Of course he is. Did you expect a once in a millennia Elite Student to be a scam?”
Tens of villagers surrounded him, each trying to catch a glimpse of the Elite Student who had appeared within the village. Suddenly, one of the older farmers recognised Lu Fengyi.
“Hey! Ain’t he the boy that was carrying the Wang clan mistress a few days ago?”
“Now that I think about it, they do look really similar…”
“Looks like the Wang clan has picked up a good one!”
Lu Fengyi smiled to the villagers before shouting with the help of his cultivation, “Could everyone stop talking for a second?”
Instantly, the voices died down as each of the onlookers stared at Lu Fengyi.
“I’m actually in a hurry, so I’ll talk to everyone another day.”
Suddenly remembering that as a cultivator, one would have to invest most of their time into focusing on increasing one’s cultivation while the rest would be consolidating the cultivation base, the villagers hurriedly scattered. If one did not work hard, even if they were a genius, they would still be unable to reach Lu Fengyi’s level of grandeur.
Thanking the villagers, Lu Fengyi made his way towards the apothecary guild in order to see if he could buy the pills that Zhao Ya and Yuan Tao needed. Although Lu Fengyi’s current amount of money was far from enough to purchase the two goods, he had intellectual knowledge that could be used to trade for the pills as Zhang Xuan had in the novel.
Lu Fengyi turned the corner of the intersection, sighting the apothecary guild. He was just about to stride towards it when he was stopped by a familiar voice, “L-Lu Fengyi?”
Lu Fengyi glanced over to see Wang Ying struggling to hold what looked like bags of herbs. Hurriedly jogging over to assist Wang Ying, Lu Fengyi took up both bags, relieving her of her load.
Flustered by Lu Fengyi’s sudden actions, Wang Ying gasped the sides of her dress, however did not make a move to stop Lu Fengyi, “Why are you here?”
Lu Fengyi placed both bags in one hand before using his other to reach out and pat Wang Ying’s head, “I’m here to visit the apothecary guild to buy some pills. How about you?”
Blushing deeply and looking towards the floor, Wang Ying let out a small squeal before answering in an almost inaudible tone, “I’m buying herbs…”
Lu Fengyi chuckled at the girl’s embarrassment, “So are you free now?”
Wang Ying nodded slightly.
“Then how about this? Come with me on a date!”
Although Lu Fengyi had never had a relationship before in his life, that did not mean that it was hard for him to make the first move. In fact, the years spent living alone had only increased his need for mutual affection.
Wang Ying looked up in confusion, brushing aside Lu Fengyi’s hand which was still upon her head, “Date? What is that?”
Lu Fengyi mentally face-palmed himself. Of course! He had used a term from his previous world meaning that it was almost impossible for somebody from an ancient cultivation novel to know what he meant.
Twisting Wang Ying’s confusion to suit his purposes, Lu Fengyi beamed, “You’ll find out if you follow me.”
“But don’t you have to visit the apothecary guild?” Wang Ying questioned.
‘Visit those old fogies? If not for the fact that I need the goods that only the apothecary guild can provide, I wouldn’t even consider spending my time there,’ Lu Fengyi kept his thoughts to himself before answering, “What do you think I value more?”
Realising Lu Fengyi’s intentions, Wang Ying turned to face away from him, hiding her face in her arms. While Lu Fengyi had already done these embarrassing things multiple times in the past, every single time he did so, Wang Ying could not help be feel a pumping in her heart, resonating throughout her soul. It wasn’t that she didn’t want to interact with Lu Fengyi, it was just that she didn’t know what to say. Every time she tried to speak, her mind would go blank, face red, leaving her only option to hide away her embarrassment.
Lu Fengyi grasped at Wang Ying’s hand, pulling her towards one of the more famous restaurants in the city. While Lu Fengyi had not visited any of them, he had memorised the entire city off by heart when he was trying to locate the night market. He had considered taking Wang Ying over to the Hongtian Pavilion, the best restaurant in the entire province other than the emperor’s, it would be way too formal for a first date.
An ideal location would be somewhere casual, where the two could relax and have a chat. Having visited the night market during his first few days, Lu Fengyi knew of a place that opened in the morning and contained not only good food, but also a good atmosphere.
It was the perfect opportunity to get himself a girl!
