Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 40 Battle
“LoHP.”
While the word may have meant nothing to people of this world, the man’s eyes instantly contracted before backing several steps away, holding a glowing dagger towards Lu Fengyi, “Who are you?”
Taking Wang Ying’s hand, Lu Fengyi gestured towards the door as he guided her protectively. The last thing he would want was for somebody who was completely innocent to be hurt due to his suspicions.
Although Wang Ying felt panic within her heart and was displaying a stricken face, she followed Lu Fengyi’s instructions, quickly leaving the shop and running as far as possible.
Shutting the door shut, Lu Fengyi turned back towards the man before releasing his Zhizhun pinnacle aura. Based on what he had sensed and check multiple times already, the man had no cultivation as there was not even the slightest aura leaking out of him, however due to the existence of the Cultivation Sealing Application that he had obtained, there was no telling if the man was extremely strong or not.
“My name is Lu Fengyi. I assume that you are a transcendent?”
The man snorted in derision, “What? You bounty hunters are here to catch me because of Kang Lu’s stupid grudge? I bet he paid you plenty to do this!”
“Bounty hunters? I’m afraid you may be mistaken. After all, you’re a threat to my existence within this world rather than the other way around. From what I could see, although you’re posing as a cultivation-less weakling, you should actually be a powerful expert.”
Lu Fengyi gambled upon his words. When he released his aura in the past, he could clearly feel every detail, as if the aura was reporting the positions of everything, however when he did so just then, not only could he not feel anything with his aura, the surge of cultivation energy did not even reach a meter’s radius of the man, stopping short as if blocked by a barrier.
“Hmph! You can’t trick me. I fell for your damn plots time and time again. This time, I’ll make absolute sure that not only will I stay alive within the world, I will also get rid of you lackeys, kicking you back to where you belong!”
The man harrumphed before lunging forward with his dagger.
Reacting in an instant, Lu Fengyi launched a powerful side kick towards the approaching dagger, sweeping it cleanly across the room. While his strength might possibly be weaker than his opponent, that did not mean that he could not disarm the man. Just the simply concept of levers in physics could allow him to use his force perfectly, ripping the dagger from the man’s grip.
Completely unfazed from being disarmed, the man seemed to mutter something before a broadsword appeared within his hands, glowing like the dagger lying halfway across the room. With a blazing glare, the man swung forwards once more, forcing Lu Fengyi to dodge back with all his speed.
“Not bad for scum like you! If it were not for the limitations set upon me when I accepted the world quests, you would be dead by now though!” the man roared.
Feeling in impending sense of danger, Lu Fengyi tried to escape through the door, desperately channelling his cultivation, however the man suddenly flashed forwards, slamming into Lu Fengyi’s shoulder and slamming him into the wall.
Groaning in pain, Lu Fengyi tried to stand up, however a foot stepped mercilessly upon his back.
“How odd. The last one that bastard sent was quite strong so why would he send such an amateurish weakling. He should’ve sent someone on par with his guards at least…”
Lu Fengyi felt the foot lift from his back before his entire body was lifted off the ground. From the impact earlier, one of his eyes had gone bad, leaving him staring lopsidedly at the man who was now holding him up by the collar.
“Did Kang Lu send you here? Tell me now!”
Lu Fengyi choked through the blood in his throat, barely muttering a reply, “No…”
“Do you really think you can get out of this one? I’ve caught you already meaning that you cannot escape. Now fess up, did Kang Lu send you here?”
Lu Fengyi shook his head.
The man’s eyes glowed with excitement, “If you don’t confess, I’ll have to beat you until you do!”
“I really haven’t…”
Lu Fengyi felt his entire world turn as he was thrown roughly onto the wooden floorboards. While his cultivation still existed within him, the man’s power far exceeded his own, not in cultivation, but in sheer physical power.
Lu Fengyi opened his remaining eye to see the man raising his fist, a menacing smile upon his face. Although the expressions were genuine enough and power seemed to radiate from the man, the technique in which the man was about to punch him with seemed unrefined. Not that he could do much even with that knowledge.
Just as Lu Fengyi thought that he would be beaten to death, he saw the flicker of a shadow pass over his head, smashing into the man and bringing him to the floor. Hurriedly propping himself against the wall, Lu Fengyi saw the figure of the newly arrived individual. Although the face was not facing him, the frame of his saviour told him enough.
It was the system representative!
While the system representative still had the body of a teenager, his hands were tight against the man’s throat, pressing Lu Fengyi’s attacker against the floor.
“Whether human, cultivator or magician, you may not harm the boy. I have been set to protect him.”
The man on the floor widened his eyes in surprise, “You… how could you have a Guardian? And such a strong one at that! If you’re already so amazing, why the hell are you coming after me for Kang Lu’s sake?”
Just as Lu Fengyi was about to answer, the child who was serving him from before leapt out from the side of the room, directly kicking the system representative into an already broken desk.
“Master! Are you hurt?” the boy shouted.
The man shook his head, “If not for you, I would’ve been done for today.”
Completely incensed by the child’s actions, the system representative stood up in fury before launching a fierce assault on the duo. While the moves seemed simple, it was obvious that the system representative was going all out.
In a matter of moments, the duo were suppressed, both sprawled across the floor completely ruined by the demonic system representative.
[ Ahem, I forgot to tell you, but the system representative is an employee, so he gets super angry from time to time ]
Lu Fengyi shook his head. He had tried to consume some recovery pills, however since his body was of a Zhizhun realm pinnacle expert, the had minimal effect upon his body. Struggling to sit in the most comfortable position, Lu Fengyi glanced over to the store owner and child. While it was true that he was extremely annoyed to be attacked out of nowhere, it was evident from the man’s words that he had been tracked and hunted for a long time.
Holding up his hands in a sign of peace, Lu Fengyi spoke.
“Can we talk in a civil manner now?”
