Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 48 Ju Liu
“4-4 star master teacher…”
While it wasn’t anything special to have a 4 star master teacher as the story progressed towards the higher kingdoms, having one in such a backward kingdom was just simply…
“Indeed. The most peculiar thing that made me curious is the fact that not only is your flame of a relatively high grade, your learning speed and manipulation of knowledge to form a unique technique for yourself can only be described as top grade for a young man like you.”
Lu Fengyi swallowed in anticipation. Since the master teacher was of the fourth level, that would mean that his cultivation was completely beyond the Zhizun realm. Even if he were to resist, there would be no way for him to fight back against this monstrosity of a character.
Keeping a straight face, Lu Fengyi responded, “Such praise is undeserved. Instead, I am the one in awe. To achieve such greatness at a young age, senior must be a genius that even the heavens would be jealous of.”
The master teacher grinned at him, “Haha, unfortunately so. I became drunk on the attention I got when I ascended to become a 4 star master teacher at the age of 17, causing my temperament to turn arrogant and distasteful. Young man, if you ever obtain large amounts of power, always remember that arrogance is not the key to development, rather an amicable, flexible, however unyielding temperament is the optimal choice.”
Lu Fengyi’s eyes bulged in surprise, ‘This man looks as if he’s twenty of more, yet he just said that he ascended to become a 4 star master teacher at the age of 17.’
Seeing Lu Fengyi’s expression, the master teacher chuckled lightly, “You must be confused as to why my supposed age conflicts with my appearance. To tell you the truth, I’m only 18 this year, however this appearance was granted by my master and I cannot remove it until I complete everything I need to do.”
Lu Fengyi nodded.
“Hmm, if there is anything you’d like to ask, you can speak you know. You don’t have to treat me differently just because my identity has changed somewhat.”
Seeing that Lu Fengyi still had his mouth shut, waiting for him to speak, the master teacher sighed, “Young people these days… aren’t they all a little too antisocial?”
Lu Fengyi’s mouth twitched in humour. This man had just told him that he was 18. That meant that there was almost five year gap between their ages, and yet he had just been called a young person. Calming himself and willing a little confidence, Lu Fengyi spoke out, “My apologies. My name is Lu Fengyi and I’m a student of the Hongtian academy.”
The master teacher grinned broadly, “Now you’ve opened up! Nice to meet you Lu Fengyi. Mine is Ju Liu, but you can call me directly by name if you wish. No need for the formalities.”
Lu Fengyi was about to respond when he saw Ju Liu’s frowning expression. Instantly back on guard, Lu Fengyi asked tentatively, “Is there anything wrong, Ju Sui?”
Lu Sui eased his expression, however his brow was still creased thoughtfully, “No, nothing much. It’s just that your name sounds extremely familiar. You said that you attend the Hongtian academy…”
“Mm…”
“Shit, where did I hear that name before… it’s at the tip of my tongue…”
Lu Fengyi felt speechless at the display of the master teacher before him, ‘Aren’t you master teachers supposed to be renowned figures that represent the pillar of humanity. Aren’t you supposed to wield unprecedented knowledge? Why the hell are you acting like an easygoing teenager that doesn’t know what the hell he’s doing, but still trying to act knowledgeable?’
Suddenly, Ju Sui’s eyes lit up, “I remember now! You’re that Elite Student that made a name for himself recently. I did not know that you were an apothecary as well. Since you’re an apothecary and a genius in cultivation, doesn’t that make you even more heaven defying than before?”
Lu Fengyi felt a wave of conversational pressure as Ju Sui chattered away, ‘Isn’t this person a little too talkative?’
“You have remembered correctly. I am the Elite Student of the Hongtian academy.” Lu Fengyi clasped his hands in a gesture of respect.
“Haha, who would have thought that during this boring period of temperament set by my master, I would meet such an unpolished treasure in this backward kingdom.”
“Thank you for your high evaluation, Ju Sui.”
While it was true that Lu Fengyi knew that 4 star master teachers were like sheep upon a farm by the time he moved into conferred kingdoms, he still couldn’t help but be in awe of the formidable figure before him.
“Don’t mention it. If you’re to continue working hard, you’ll reach great heights. In fact…” Ju Sui paused in his speech.
“In fact?” Lu Fengyi felt a sudden tension within the room, however this time, it was a comfortable tension, as if waiting for something to happen.
“I have not completely decided, however if I were to extend the offer for you to become my student, how would you feel about it?”
At first, Lu Fengyi felt a rush of excitement, however as he thought more deeply about the offer, he realised that becoming Ju Sui’s student would most likely cause him many future troubles. It would almost be a god-sent gift in the first few months, however after, it would possibly become a burden to his growth.
Additionally, it would be quite the pain to hide his extreme growth from a 4 star master teacher and a single slip up could cause endless suspicion. Not only that, but the fact that he would most likely leave the world in a few weeks would mean that the relationship would become unstable when he came back, possibly adding additional loads on him.
Sucking in a deep breath and praying for the best, Lu Fengyi gathered his determination before responding, “With all due respect, Ju shi, while I don’t disrespect you in any way, this decision may be too quick for me to make.”
To his surprise, Ju Sui did not make any dangerous movements, nor did he show any displeased expressions. Ju Sui smiled, “That’s good. If you were impulsive and instantly accepted my proposal, I would have been quite disappointed in fact. Your decision has showed that you have a certain level on mental stability and will always consider your decisions before making them.”
Lu Fengyi bowed deeply, “Thank you Ju shi for understanding my motives.”
Ju Sui nodded his head wisely, “Mm, though the offer is still open if you ever need my help or you wish to seek advice. If you come to this cauldron store and don’t see me here, then I’ll most likely have already returned to the nearest ranked Empire to meet with my master.”
