Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 49 Hidden Ques
“That will be eight thousand gold coins including the apothecary discount of twenty percent!” Ju Sui smiled, placing out his hand for the money.
Lu Fengyi sucked in a cold breath as he heard the number. While it wasn’t that he wasn’t able to pay that much, buying the cauldron would leave him with less than a hundred gold coins. If he were to buy several meals with the coins, it would already be all gone.
Knowing that the cauldron was a priority for him, Lu Fengyi shook his head and handed over the amount to Ju Sui.
“Thank you for your purchase, respected customer. Come visit again if you have any problems with the cauldron.” Ju Sui waved goodbye energetically.
Lu Fengyi waved back, smiling awkwardly. Just a moment ago, Ju Sui had transformed from a shop attendant to a 4 star master teacher, somebody that nobody in the kingdom could offend, however now that Ju Sui was back in the shop front, his temperament had shifted back to that of an excited shop assistant.
Shaking his head to dispel the lingering thoughts, Lu Fengyi breathed deeply before concentrating his mind on his current goal. As of now, he had completed all the mandatory quests other than the face slapping quest which was still on 2/3 completion progress and from what the system had told him, it seemed that the smartest move would be to finish the current world as fast as possible.
Not only that, but Lu Fengyi felt an intense curiosity towards what lay outside his current world. Since he was completely clueless during his first entrance into the Fictional Transcension System, he had not looked into anything related to the system other than selecting worlds, only to find out via questions that not only was he not alone in using the Fictional Transcension System, it was likely that there would be competitions and leader boards based of transcending into different worlds.
From what Lu Fengyi could remember, Zhang Xuan should have ordered the pills from the apothecary guild after the pill debate and hence the student competition would begin within half a month. What would he do within the time…
Just as Lu Fengyi was still deep in thought, the familiar sound of the system notification rang within his mind.

[ Evaluation of Hidden Quest 17 completion ]

“Huh? What the hell is this?” Lu Fengyi muttered as he read through the notification, ‘Hidden notification? System, would you care to explain?’
[ Ahh, yes. In fact, you’re one of the only people who I’ve seen complete a hidden quest without any prior knowledge. A hidden quest is exactly the same as a normal quest, however the difficulty is generally more difficult and not only that, but you won’t know what you need to do. Since you just accomplished a feat that was listed in one of the hidden quests of this world, you naturally received the reward ]
Lu Fengyi contemplated for a moment before continuing, ‘So does that mean that when I go about my daily busy, there is always the off chance that I coincidentally complete a hidden quest?’
[ Hmph, of course not. If that was the case, the difficulty wouldn’t be higher than normal quests. Hidden quests generally are extremely difficult to complete and even the most experienced of the transcenders cannot accurately determine the requirements of a hidden quest ]
Learning of another part of the system, Lu Fengyi quickly remembered it before proceeding to open his Internal Storage. Along the remaining hundred or so gold coins, lay a small book the size of a notebook and upon it, small glowing circles of magic seemed to twist and turn, forming magical objects of different varieties. Reaching out towards the interface before him, Lu Fengyi removed the book from the Internal Storage, transferring it into his hand.
Flipping open the first page, Lu Fengyi began to read the foreword.

[ Diary of the Pills ]
[ This diary serves as a record of the pill forging recipes created by the owner and the main usage is a simple documentation of records to arrange and organise the formulated recipes ]
[ Grade – E ( Up to twenty recipes can be stored within the system ) ]
[ Remaining Slots – 19/20 ]

Lu Fengyi frowned at the item within his hand, ‘System, what is with this item?’
[ Didn’t you read the first page of the book? Seeing that you have it opened, I’ll assume that you have and you are simply an annoying person trying to overwork me ]
Lu Fengyi shook his head, ‘No, I didn’t mean that. Could you please explain the meaning behind the grade of the item? From what I remember, the Cultivation Affinity had an S level grading, so there must be some sort of meaning behind it right?’
While Lu Fengyi already had a vague idea of what the grading meant, it was still good to ask.
[ Sigh, to think that your problem solving skills were this terrible. Listen up, the grading system is a way for the Fictional Transcension System to label the items available to users with tiers so that there is a clear difference between the level of gear ]
[ While most items have a single grade, like the Cultivation Affinity you got from before, many items also have several other grades that indicate a relative power difference to the original. For example. if you were to obtain the Grade S Diary of the Pills, not only would you be able to store unlimited recipes, you would obtain different options that would help you with your pill forging ]
[ Counting from the bottom, there are a total of seven commonly known tiers, respectively F, E, D, C, B, A and S. Other than those, there are also three special tiers, however you do not need to delve into those just yet ]
Hearing the extensive explanation, Lu Fengyi nodded contentedly before going back to his original thought. Since he had over ten days left before the student evaluation examination and the fact that he had just obtained a new item, the task he wanted to complete most would be to continuously forge pills until he became proficient at pill forging. Not only would this decision advance his knowledge of pill forging, it would also be beneficial to recovering his body to its original state, healing all his more serious internal injuries.
Hurrying back towards his room in the dormitories, Lu Fengyi rushed parallel to the path that lead to the academy at peak speeds, avoiding detection from peering eyes by staying within the dense forests that grew along the path. Before long, Lu Fengyi had arrived before his door.
Rushing inside and shutting the door behind him, Lu Fengyi set up his cauldron in the centre of his room before laying out hundreds of bundles of herbs and sitting beside the cauldron. Lu Fengyi’s eyes gleamed with determination. Since he had reached the Zhizun realm pinnacle, there was basically no need to sleep for extensive periods of time, and now was the opportunity to make use of such a fact.
