Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 54 Repeated Breakthrough
Shaking his head in annoyance, Lu Fengyi put up an embarrassed look upon his face before turning towards the five students, “Indeed. While I was practicing my new martial arts, I fell into a state of mindless training, causing me to instinctively begin attacking and destroying every single object within the nearby vicinity. Thankfully, Zhang laoshi was there with me and stopped me from continuing my rampage.”
Convinced by the explanation, the students nodded before looking back towards Zhang Xuan for further instructions.
Seeing that Lu Fengyi had successfully rid himself of confused suspicion, Zhang Xuan turned towards the students before waving his arm grandly, “As you heard from Lu Fengyi, the classroom Is currently destroyed due to his extreme strength, however I will also capitalise upon this opportunity and make the most out of our loss.”
As the group of students and Zhang Xuan traversed the steps and proceeded towards the entrance of the academy, Zhang Xuan quickly dropped a notice to the receptionist, who covered her mouth in surprise, before waving the children out of the hall. Unlike the previous few days, the sky boasted a lack of looming clouds, radiating the warmth of the sun while a cool breeze ran across the hills that lead towards the academy.
As every cultivator knew, the most optimal time to train one’s body through qi circulation would be in the morning as not only was there an abundance in yang energy, but the natural qi was the densest at the time. If one were to compare the effects between cultivating in the morning and in the afternoon, although there would not be a prominent difference, the gap would become substantial after long term cultivation.
Leading the students out of the academy and onto the plains that separated Hongtian academy from the city, Zhang Xuan began to expand upon the topic of cultivation that he had begun several days beforehand while Lu Fengyi was still crafting pills.
“From what I’ve seen so far, most of you have already reached the pinnacle of the Juxi realm and are only a single step away from breaking through. Since it has come to this, I’ll be conducting a special lesson upon breaking through effectively to the next realm.”
The student’s eyes gleamed with surprise and excitement as they heard the words. Being still of the first realm, they had all yet to experience the feeling of breaking through to the next realm, making the idea more appealing than simply increasing their strength. While it was true that consolidation of fundamentals was an exceptional method of increasing one’s strength, the bottleneck that most would experience while attempting to break through would not only allow one to experience difficulty before enlightenment, but also grant the immense difference in strength that divided cultivation realms.
“As you all already know, Lu Fengyi has already broken through multiple times and does not need to participate in this exercise, however, in place of me, he shall guide those who have just broken through, the method to consolidating cultivation and creating a solid foundation.”
Of course, Lu Fengyi had no problems with these arrangements. Since he would not be able to do anything else, he might as well help the students that would be breaking through for the first time in their lives.
After walking several kilometres from the academy, Lu Fengyi stopped before extending his arm towards the skies and breathing in deeply. The profound, layered depth within the qi that channelled through his nostrils filled his lungs as energy circulated throughout his body. While it was true that he had already reached the Zhizun realm, that did not mean that circulating energy did not do anything for him. Of course, the most practical use of absorbing the energy had already been nullified to the point of uselessness, however the pure enjoyment of breathing pollution free air was always comforting.
Seeing the enjoyment upon Lu Fengyi’s face, the other students looked at each other before standing on the spot and breathing deeply as well. Zhang Xuan’s eyebrows twitched in slight annoyance. While there was nothing wrong with what Lu Fengyi or his students were doing, the fact that Lu Fengyi seemed to be stealing his prestige of a teacher away felt like a pin beneath his foot.
Sighing to himself, Zhang Xuan shook his head before calling to the students, “Alright, everyone take this opportunity to circulate qi several times before we begin.”
‘If I can’t even assert any authority right now, I’ll have no chance of competing at all!’ Zhang Xuan could almost feel the authority slipping from his fingers.
Nodding at the words, the students sat upon the floor, each circulating energy throughout their bodies like their usual routine.
“Guide the air throughout your body and this time, make sure”
Setting aside his previous thoughts, Zhang Xuan began to earnestly guide the students, starting from Zhao Ya. The most important thing to a successful breakthrough was obviously the over-accumulation of energy, however even with that, many with higher levels of cultivation would struggle immensely with breaking through. What Zhang Xuan needed to impart was not methods of gathering energy, but the skill of focusing one’s cultivation upon a single position, breaking through in a single go.
Of course, being new to the world of cultivation, Zhang Xuan only knew the conventional method of breaking through, which comprised of gathering enough energy and pushing through in a single go, however Lu Fengyi knew of exceptionally profound methods of breaking through that would not only be seen as unorthodox, but possibly impossible.
Closing his eyes and memorising the numerous methods he had seen in other novels, Lu Fengyi quickly compiled a list of methods for each of the students within his mind before stepping towards Zhang Xuan, whispering the contents into his ear.
One may think that the most important aspect was to gather energy and push through with sudden power, and while it was not wrong to think that, it was not complete either. Narrowing it to a single person, if Zheng Yang were to try and breakthrough in the most effective way possible, the most optimal method for him would not be the conventional method, but instead to gather his strength during his spear training, thrusting his energy through as if piercing the defences of an opponent, and destroying the barrier to the next cultivation realm.
While the method did not sound much different to the one that most cultivators would use, during the process, one would not only breakthrough much easier, they would also experience an increased affinity towards the method in which they broke through.
As the sun began to rise towards the peak, blasts of powerful energies radiated one by one, each giving off a different feeling than the last. Before long, faint projections of swords and spears formed upon Zhao Ya and Zheng Yang’s heads respectively while clumps of different natured energies hovered above the other three students.
Juxi realm pinnacle? What a joke! If he wasn’t even able to raise a few student’s cultivation to the next realm by the teacher’s evaluation, wouldn’t he be a transcender for nothing?
