Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 57 The Pummelling Begins
“Reporting to teacher, the Teacher’s Evaluation is about to begin. Our turn should be coming up soon.” Zheng Yang rushed up to Zhang Xuan before clasping his hands respectfully.
“Mm, good! I see that you all have worked hard over the last few days to consolidate your cultivations. From a single glance, Wang Ying and Zheng Yang has both reached the intermediate realm of the Dantian realm, while Liu Yang and Zhao Ya are on the verge of breaking through. As for Yuan Tao, you seem to have listened to my words well.” Zhang Xuan looked around with a satisfied smile. It wasn’t easy to groom students, however the feeling of exhilaration that one would obtain as they did so far exceeded the effort required.
“Teacher, teacher! What about Lu Fengyi’s evaluation?” Wang Ying quickly raised her hand.
Almost wanting to spit a mouthful of blood, Zhang Xuan swallowed the urge before answering with a crooked smile, “Uh… Lu Fengyi said that he would show us all his prowess during the Teacher’s Examination.”
This time, Liu Yang spoke out, “But since Lu Fengyi is the Elite Student of the academy, no student would want to spar against him.”
Zhang Xuan scratched his head, “About that, Lu Fengyi also said that he had his own plans.”
Looking towards the other students, Lu Fengyi smiled and nodded in confirmation, “Don’t worry, I’ve got a perfect, one-man show planned out.”
Just as Lu Fengyi finished his statement, one of the teachers from the academy ran out towards the group before nodding lightly towards Lu Fengyi and announcing, “Zhang laoshi, you and your students should go in now. Lu Xun laoshi gave the word that he will arrive very soon.”
Zhang Xuan nodded, indicating for his students to follow before striding towards the centre of the examination hall. Generally, the hall was used to receive guests and high level authority figures that came to the academy, however it was also the best place for duels to be held as not only were there thousands upon thousands of seats for spectators, there was also a large, circle-shaped stage in the centre of the hall.
Stepping across the pathway, Zhang Xuan lead his students towards the duelling platform. A flurry of whispers came from all around as the audience noticed their entry.
“Hey, isn’t that Zhang laoshi? The one who has the Elite Student as his disciple?”
“It is! He looks a lot different from what I’d imagined.”
“Is that what you care about? What I’m wondering is whether Zhang Xuan is truly a trash teacher as the rumors presented him to be or not. I guess we’ll see in due time.”
Eventually, the whispers quietened down as Zhang Xuan stopped next to the arena, awaiting instructions from the overseeing teacher for the duel. Just as the silence began to last, soft mutterings and occasional cheering sounded from the other end of the hall.
“It seems that Lu Xun laoshi has arrived. Remember, since he was the one who challenged us two weeks ago, you must fight for real. No playing around with your opponent and use the right amount of means necessary to defeat them.” Zhang Xuan gave a pat on each of the student’s shoulders before facing the duelling ring.
“Ahem, uh… Lu laoshi and Zhang laoshi have both arrived. Today is the day of the Freshmen Tournament. But before that, we shall first hold a competition between the teachers, the Teacher Evaluation between Lu Xun laoshi and Zhang Xuan laoshi.”
As the Principal announced the proceedings, Zhang Xuan turned back towards the students, “Alright, who wants to go first?”
After an exchange of glances, Yuan Tao raised his hand before replying, “Teacher, allow me.”
Zhang Xuan nodded in acknowledgement. After several days worth of consolidation and applying the blood of the rhinoceros, Yuan Tao had already awakened his Emperor’s Bloodline to a certain degree. Even if the opponent was several realms higher then him in cultivation, they would still find it difficult to break through Yuan Tao’s natural defence. Not only that, but since Yuan Tao was basically the worst of the bunch in terms of examination ranking, he would be the best person to send up first.
As Yuan Tao began to ascend the steps, Lu Fengyi quickly called to the fatty in a mocking tone, “Yuan Tao! Don’t pummel him too hard!”
Seeing this, the approaching opponent, Kong Jie, snorted in derision. It seemed that his opponent was so weak that even his peers would call him out for being weak. It wasn’t as if there was no student comradeship, however if one was truly too weak, the only path left would be exclusion and neglect from everyone else.
With a disheartened face, Yuan Tao clasped his hands together towards Kong Jie, “Senior Kong, please go easy on me… Look at how plump I am, my cultivation is only at Fighter 1-dan as well…”
Something that would piss Kong Jie off a lot was when an opponent would request for him to go easy on the other party. If he were to fight, he would fight like a man!
“Hmph, I never go easy on anyone. Either you admit defeat, or be kicked off the ring by me!”
Yuan Tao showed a pitiful and afraid expression before leaning closer to Kong Jie, “I can’t admit defeat, but I don’t want to get beaten either. How about this, I’ll give you a thousand… No, five hundred… three hundred gold coins as compensation if you pretend to beat me up before letting me go.”
Of course, Kong Jie being a teenager like the other students could not help but be slightly interested towards the proposal, “Three hundred? Do you really have that much?”
Yuan Tao nodded his head slightly, “Of course.”
Reaching his hand into his pocket, Yuan Tao’s eyes suddenly gleamed with a sharp glint, however it went unnoticed by Kong Jie who was completely focused on the hand within the pocket.
Of course, Lu Fengyi had not planned to let the same things happen as it would only be boring. Originally, he had thought about telling Yuan Tao to kick Kong Jie in the privates instead, however remembering the pain he had felt as that tennis ball slammed into his own privates during his high school days shook him from his evil state. The thing between the legs was not something that should be touched or abused due to malice. This was an unspoken rule between true men!
With a swift punch, reinforced by the awakening of the Emperor’s Bloodline, Yuan Tao easily launched Kong Jie off his head, soaring across the duelling stage and out of the set space.
Even though the audience erupted into cries of displeasure and cat calling, Yuan Tao beamed as if he had just won righteously before returning to Zhang Xuan.
Seeing his actions, those who were about to berate him for his actions were completely stifled by the shamelessness that he displayed.
Aren’t you all students? Aren’t you all freshmen? Where’s the sportsmanship? This is a friendly spar, not a life and death situation!
