Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 61 Battling Lu Xun 2
Throughout his entire life, Lu Xun had never experienced any pain or humiliation, hidden behind his father’s umbrella of protection. Although he had come out from the umbrella to explore the world on his own, trying to make his own name, he still had never been humiliated before.
And yet his first true meeting with the Elite Student of the academy resulted in not only forcing him to expend some of his stronger moves against the opponent, but also to be pummelled into ground despite already performing his strongest defensive measure. If this wasn’t humiliation, what was?
Pushing himself off the floor, Lu Xun wiped away the blood before looking towards Lu Fengyi, a mixture of hate and fear within his eyes. For one to break through his Coiling Dragon Hands, their power would have to come close or equal to a Tongxuan realm expert, and yet, Lu Fengyi had achieved it so casually, as if there was no challenge at all.
Slightly pleased with himself for being able to pull off the kick, Lu Fengyi glanced towards Lu Xun once more. Although he did not have any available martial techniques to help him, it seemed that his fighting experience was enough to aid him in fighting Lu Xun. One of the biggest advantages that he had over the cultivators of this world was not his endless understanding of cultivation concepts, but the understanding of physics that he possessed. While others may not know Newton’s three laws of motion, Lu Fengyi was able to manipulate them at will, causing his battle prowess to soar.
“Lu laoshi!” Lu Fengyi clasped his hands together before stepping into a ready position, “Please go all out!”
Seething with frustration and pent up anger, Lu Xun stood up before gathering and condensing his energy into a serious battle stance, “Then I shall. Lu Fengyi, face my strike!”
With a roar, Lu Xun charged over with a sword within his hands and a faint glow around his body. Reacting instantly to the aggression, Lu Fengyi unleashed all the might that he had not sealed off, allowing his muscles, viscerals and meridians free reign. If he were to defeat an experienced fighter like Lu Xun, he would have to go all out!
Just like the previous exchange, Lu Fengyi did not back away and instead, pushed forwards with a twisting kick towards Lu Xun’s chest. Dodging barely in time from the sword strike sent towards him, Lu Fengyi could only abandon his attack before spinning back and engaging once more. When fighting against a swordsman, the most important point was not to dodge the sword, but to deny the opponent the opportunity to make use of it. Similar to spears, swords would be more effective at mid range, however if Lu Fengyi was able to pressure Lu Xun the entire time, the offensive capabilities from Lu Xun would decrease several fold.
While Lu Xun was caught off-guard by the sudden attacks, his reaction speed did not pale much in comparison to Lu Fengyi. With a twist of his hand, the sword swung in a deadly arc towards Lu Fengyi’s body. Under normal conditions, Lu Xun would control the sword strike so that he would be able to stop it right before impact, however if he were to even come close to winning the duel, he could not hold back in the slightest.
Trusting his instincts, Lu Fengyi ducked underneath the blade, sliding along the floor beneath Lu Xun before grasping his legs and knocking the teacher off balance. Sweeping his legs in a semicircle, Lu Fengyi managed to trip Lu Xun before leaping to his feet and rushing towards the prone opponent.
“Illusory Shadow Steps”
Lu Xun muttered the words before streaking back several metres, gaining him the precious time to get to his feet and enter a defensive position. If Lu Fengyi were to try and engage once more, it would be much more difficult than before, when he was still at close quarters.
At that, the two opponents panted slightly as they stared at each other for the slightest movements, muscles tense with adrenaline. Even though the exchange of attacks had been fearsome and intense, in reality, only several seconds had passed since the first attack. Seeing the attacks halt for the time being, whispers from the audience began to spread around the hall.
“The Elite Student is quite skilled, isn’t he?”
“No, from what I could see, the Elite Student did not use any martial techniques at all, only making use of his body to perform attacks.”
“You have to admit though, the Elite Student’s normal attacks far outranks our strongest abilities. What would happen once he uses a martial technique?”
Lu Xun grit his teeth in annoyance and humiliation. It was one thing that he couldn’t defeat the opponent, but the fact that the audience was rooting for Lu Fengyi, that pushed him over the edge mentally.
Lu Fengyi sighed internally as he witnessed both his attacks failing against the other party. While it was true that Lu Xun would have lost to his last move if he did not possess escape abilities, the issue was that he did have them. Realising that he had spent most of his time crafting pills when he could have been reading upon useful battle techniques, Lu Fengyi felt quite stifled.
‘How much easier would it be to win if I had learnt some of those…’
[ How much easier? If you were to learn several engage based techniques, this man wouldn’t of even survived your first counterattack. Do you really think that the Cultivation Affinity is a joke? You must know that even though you limited your cultivation, that does not mean that the natural buffs from the Cultivation Affinity don’t apply ]
‘You were listening?’
[ Of course I was. If it were any other person, possessing the Cultivation Affinity can only mean one thing. Complete and utter dominance over the world, not stopping to create relationships and friends, but to sweep the story clean of opponents. Using it like you are? They would be crazy to waste such an opportunity ]
‘Also, why has the quest not notified me of completion yet? I’m pretty sure I’ve caused Lu Xun to feel enough humiliation to be counted as a face slap.’ Lu Fengyi raised his concerns.
[ Huh, feel humiliation? Are you kidding? You’re the Elite Student, do you think that he would feel extremely ashamed from losing to you? He should be feeling honoured that he’s even battling you right now. If you want to complete the quest, try thinking outside of common sense. Trust me, it works ]
‘Outside of common sense? How else would you face slap someone without humilia…’
Suddenly, Lu Fengyi’s face lit up with a devilish smile. Seeing the instant change, Lu Xun’s began to sweat in fear. Seeing the smile was as if seeing a pre-written death sentence for himself, positively bone-chilling.
