Fictional Transcension System - Chapter 82 Joining The Class
“Please take your seats!”
Although he had arrived half an hour early to the school, there wasn’t much to do as it was still the middle of the school term. In the main story, Nie Yan only joined back into school in the final semester of high school, completing only the most important tests to allow him to enter the military academy. Since the system had already set him to attend school, it was only natural that he complied, in fear of receiving unneeded attention.
Unsurprisingly, Lu Fengyi had been transferred into the same class that Nie Yan would join, something only to be expected by the humorous system he had. While he did not recognise any of the other students due to their faces never being shown in the novel, he was still able to decipher from the more common names, the people around him.
Xie Yao, the love interest of Nie Yan and an exceptional beauty that had skills in taekwondo and excelled in academics.
Liu Rui, the son of an influential stock holder in the Dragonsoar Financial Group that was owned by Xie Yao’s family. An arrogant prick that believed himself to be far above others, only to be crushed miserably by Nie Yan later on due to his insistence on being together with Xie Yao and simply being a pain to everyone around him.
Zhai Hao, although quite weak in both academics and physical ability, he was one of the few people that stood with Nie Yan in his previous life, indicating his strong sense of camaraderie and brotherhood.
Xia Ling, the crush of Zhai Hao and Xie Yao’s best friend. While she did not play a major role in the novel, she was still a good person to get acquainted with, due to her friendship with Xie Yao and her connections with the other students.
While there were still many other students, the most prominent ones listed above were the best to become friends with. Of course, he wouldn’t blatantly do so, in case he triggered a phenomenal change in the story line, however it would be good to eventually get closer to Nie Yan, no matter if he decided to team up with him, or contest his position as the god of the Viridian Empire.
The teacher stepped up to the table at the front before speaking, “We have a new student joining us today. Since none of you probably know him, he’ll come out and do a self introduction before we get into the lessons.”
Lu Fengyi nodded before getting up and walking to the front of the classroom. Performing a light bow, Lu Fengyi introduced himself, “My name is Lu Fengyi. I just transferred to this school, and I hope to be friends with everyone. I’ll be in your hands.”
The teacher nodded his assent at Lu Fengyi, waiting for him to sit back down before continuing, “So as I was saying, your termly examinations are coming up soon. While they won’t affect your final mark in deciding your future university, it is still important you try your best in the test as only this way, will you improve and be able to compete with every other top student.”
“Uh, before I begin lessons, someone needs to show our new student around the school. Is there anyone here that is willing to?”
Yang Boyi, the teacher, glanced around the classroom. Seeing no hands, he went ahead and singled out a random person from the role.
“Xie Yao. Since you’re the top student of the grade, you can take him round.”
Lu Fengyi swore internally. Not only would this attract the attention of every single other person in the class, it was highly possibly that Liu Rui would come and try beat him up through a duel in due time. While Lu Fengyi was confident in his taekwondo, the disparity in strength was truly too large, and even if he had the strength to defeat Liu Rui, since he had been switched out into a new body, who knew if was still flexible enough to perform all his moves. Even now, he could already see the most physically built student in the class that he assumed to be Liu Rui, gaze at him with a dangerous eye.
“With that settled, we’ll continue on with finding the integral…” Yang Boyi moved into his lesson and Lu Fengyi made sure to take down as many notes as he could. While he was still confident that he knew most of the content, it never hurt to be prepared.
Several hours and a multitude of different subjects later, the lessons had ended and Lu Fengyi began to move towards the door as quickly as he could. Just as he was about to exit, a pleasant voice called out to him, “Lu Fengyi! The teacher told me to show you around the school.”
Sighing inwardly, Lu Fengyi relented before turning around and scratching his head, hiding away his displeasure, “Ah! I forgot about that. Thank you for your consideration in advance.”
Just like everyone conventional Chinese novel ever, whispers instantly broke out among those within earshot.
“Forgot? How could you forget a pseudo date with the class goddess?”
“If it were me, I would have made triple sure that I was going with Xie Yao!”
“No, no. He must be trying to avoid being with Xie Yao, as to prevent Liu Rui from going after him!”
Knowing that backing off was not the best choice in his current position, Lu Fengyi thank Xie Yao once more before walking out of the room, leading the beauty behind him. Suddenly, a system notification popped up.
[ An optional quest has appeared, would you like to open the quest? ]
Making sure to reveal nothing about his thoughts, Lu Fengyi replied, ‘Of course. Read it to me.”
[ Alright. The title of the quest is Stealing Xie Yao from Nie… ]
‘Rejected. I will not take the quest.’
[ Aren’t you going to at least consider it? There are rewards, you know? ]
‘Rejected. I’m not doing it!’
[ Are you sure? It’s a duel world, so unless you choose to overwrite your true data on the Rebirth of the Thief Who Roamed the World, this won’t be saved ]
‘I said rejected. That’s too low, even for me.’
[ Sigh, alright. It’s your choice ]
Perform a ‘steal yo girl’ when the story had an actual nice development to the romance in the untranslated raws? Even if it was not going to be saved, there was no way that he would put himself in that position. Especially considering that both Liu Rui and Nie Yan would come after his ass if it did so, making it impossible to accomplish his true goal of defeating Ji Xun and winning the duel.
He would become a hated figure if he even considered doing such an a atrocious act!
