Finding Stardust - Chapter 157 Long Live King Therius
With a face full of anticipation, Emma watched Therius who was staring at the entrance and saw the staff enter the hall, one by one.
The hall they were in looked like an auditorium with a fairly big stage and Therius stood in the center, while Professor Amara stood on his right and Emma on his left.
‘When I raise my hand, you must turn off the electricity in this auditorium,’ Therius told Emma using telemancy.
‘You don’t want your actions recorded on any camera?’ asked Emma.
‘Smart girl,’ Therius nodded.
‘All right,’ Emma replied. She acted like she didn’t hear Therius complimented her just now.
Emma did not show any expression on her face. However, inwardly, she felt really excited, and she couldn’t wait to see what Therius would do.It felt like she and the prince today were conspiring to commit a crime together.
Xion, who was standing by the auditorium door, watched the two with squinted eyes. Therius and Emma’s expressions looked flat, but somehow Xion could guess that they both were up to something.
“Soon you will be able to listen to various reports on the progress of our research in this nebula cluster,” Professor Amara explained. “Our researchers have arrived.”
“Thank you, Professor.” Therius nodded.
‘Any moment now. Get ready,’ Therius said to Emma using telemancy without taking his eyes off the door.
Once the last person entered and the auditorium door was closed. Therius then turned to Emma and smiled. “Now.”
Emma swiftly waved her right hand
ZING
ZING
All electrical equipment in the hall suddenly turned off. No equipment worked, including the cameras in the four corners of the auditorium.
Therius casually crossed his arms on his chest. His voice sounded happy when he told Emma to look ahead. “Watch carefully.”
The 51 people in the auditorium, including Professor Amara, suddenly knelt and pay their respects to Therius. They looked like they were moved by something divine.
“Long live the king!” they said in unison.
“LONG LIVE KING THERIUS.”
“LONG LIVE KING THERIUS.”
Even though there were only 51 people who knelt down and chanted Therius’ name, the atmosphere turned really solemn. Emma was mesmerized by what happened.
Was this how it felt to be a revered ruler?
‘There are only 50 people here… When I become the king, all 300 million Akkadian citizens will bow down to me and revere me as their king,’ Therius said. ‘And you, as the Akkadian queen, will also get the same treatment.’
Therius stared intently at Emma and his lips gave a thin smile.
Emma was stunned for several seconds. She realized, at that moment, it felt like Therius was offering her the world. Akkadia was a very advanced and big empire, and it controlled their entire planet. They had also expanded their territory by exploring various corners of the universe.
Being the ruler of Akkadia was almost like being the ruler of the world.
Emma bit her lip. This power was so massive and tempting.
Therius looked satisfied when he saw the change in expression on Emma’s face. He then lowered his hands to the side, and suddenly, all the people who had just knelt down to pay their respects to him and Emma got up and returned to their respective seats.
“Now, you can restore the electricity here,” Therius said softly.
Emma, who was still dazzled, barely heard Therius’s words. So, the man touched her hand and gave Emma a signal to turn on the electricity in the auditorium.
“Oh … all right,” Emma nodded. With a sweep of her hand, the lights and all other electronic equipment immediately came back on.
‘Your electromancy is amazing,’ Therius said without turning to Emma. He smiled at Professor Amara and immediately nodded to her. “All the research staff are here. We can start the session.”
“All right, Sir,” said Professor Amara with a smile. There was no slightest hint on her face showing that she and her 50 staff members had just knelt down and called Therius their king several times.
Emma got off the stage and walked over to Xion by the door, leaving Therius and Professor Amara on the stage. Professor Amara called in some researchers who would present their reports.
“Did you see that?” Emma whispered to Xion. Her voice was filled with disbelief.
Xion nodded. “I have eyes, of course, I saw it.”
“He can control that many people …” Emma whispered. “I can only control one.”
“Hmmm … I think he can control far more people than this,” Xion said, “But he doesn’t want to waste his energy on unnecessary things.”
“I can’t imagine what his true abilities are,” Emma commented.
Xion crossed his arms on his chest and looked at Emma with a grin plastered on his face. “Hmmm, looks like you are fascinated by Therius’s demonstration of power just now?”
Emma narrowed her eyes and clicked in annoyance. “Tch. That was just okay. I’m not fascinated or anything.”
“If you are not fascinated by my handsome, strong, and awesome friend who also happens to be the future king of Akkadia, then I would say you are not a normal girl,” Xion said sarcastically.
“You…!” Emma was really annoyed by Xion’s behavior. She slapped the man’s shoulder and refocused her vision on Therius and Professor Amara on the stage.
The two people walked down from the stage to the honorary seats at the front. They sat gracefully watching a researcher in his 40’s wearing a green uniform climbed onto the stage and began to present his reports. He was presenting the result of their exploration conducted by several research teams from this base.
The stage immediately turned into a 3D simulation showing a bluish galaxy with hundreds of billions of stars in it.
Emma’s attention was fully focused on the researchers’ report. He presented some information about how they found one more small inhabitable planet in the Terra galaxy. Ahh … as it turned out, in this vast universe, even among so many hundreds of billions of stars and planets, it was very difficult to find planets with life on them.

“The presentation was quite interesting,” Emma said to Therius after they came out of the auditorium and walked into one of the rooms prepared by Professor Amara’s staff for them to rest.
“I think so too.” Therius nodded in agreement. “Akkadia has 20 space bases like this across the universe. I wish I could visit all of them one by one in my lifetime.”
He opened the door and invited Emma in, followed by Xion. In the room, they could see a dining table with various delicious-looking dishes served on it. Two servants respectfully served these three esteemed guests for lunch.
“Where are we going after this?” asked Emma, sipping her drink. She saw Xion’s face beaming while he ate his food. Emma shook her head and smiled. “Uhm .. Xion, you look like you haven’t eaten in week. You must really like the food.”
Xion shrugged and chuckled. “I told you, the food here is really good.”
Therius explained to Emma. “He once told me the curry served here tastes exactly like what his mother made for him when he was young.”
“Oh … no wonder,” Emma said. She could understand that the taste of their mother’s cooking certainly had special memories for a child. Unfortunately, she didn’t remember the taste of Arreya’s cooking. She was too young to remember it.
Ahh .. all of a sudden, Emma was reminded of Grandma Lin. She missed the old lady who lived with her for a year in Singapore and loved her like her own granddaughter.
Emma remembered that Grandma Lin really loved cooking for guests. She always looked happy whenever Emma invited Haoran or her other friends to eat together in their simple apartment.
Ah … Emma really missed Grandma Lin’s cooking. How was Grandma Lin now? Was she alright? Was she lonely without Emma at home? Did the government send another youth to live with her?
Slowly, tears were flowing down her cheeks. Therius, who raised his face to see if Emma was enjoying her food, immediately looked concerned.
“What is it that’s bothering you?” the man asked attentively.
Emma shook her head. She took a deep breath and rubbed her wet eyes. Why did her life have to be like this?
On earth, she always missed her father and mother, and she was so eager to meet them. But now that she was going to see them, Emma also missed Grandma Lin and her friends.
Why couldn’t she have everything?
“Nothing. Stop asking questions while people are eating,” said Emma. She pretended to be okay and quickly ate her food.
Therius didn’t say a word after that. He could kind of guess that Emma was missing someone related to food, and he didn’t want to probe further.
They ate in silence and were busy with their own thoughts.
Once they had finished lunch, Therius, Emma, and Xion were escorted to one of the hangars and shown a small vehicle that they could use to explore.
“This is good. Thank you,” Therius nodded to the staff and signed him to leave them. He then turned to Emma. “Now, we’ll go on an adventure together.”
