Finding Stardust - Chapter 165 Visiting Salt Flat 1

Therius watched the two people who practiced with gusto and a faint smile curved up on his face. Once he was happy with how they trained, he got ready to prepare the animal he had caught, skinned it, and cleaned the meat in the river. He quickly cut it into sizable chunks of meat and then prepared to make a fire for cooking.

After everything was ready, Therius called Emma and Xion to wrap up their training and help him grill the meat for their breakfast.

Emma looked exhausted after almost an hour of training with Xion, but her face was immediately filled with joy when she heard Xion praise her progress.

“The first time I met you, you were still around Level 2,” said Xion. “Now, I think you’ve leveled up to Level 3. It’s quite a bit of progress.”

“Is that true?” Emma was overjoyed to hear that. “Ahh.. ”

“Don’t be happy just yet. The higher the level, the more difficult and longer it will be for you to level up,” said Xion. “So, you have to keep training diligently.”

“I know,” said Emma. But a moment later, she nodded obediently. “Thank you for your help.”

Emma felt the temperature behind her suddenly go up, so she automatically turned around and said the same thing to Therius. “Thank you to you too.”

She saw Therius’ face beaming, even though the young man didn’t say anything and only nodded back.

“All right, shall we have another grilled meat for breakfast?” asked Emma. “I really like it!”

While in the ship, even though their food was always delicious, fit for the future king of Akkadia, the choices were still limited compared to fresh game meat which they could catch immediately.

Emma really liked this kind of adventure as she liked living in harmony with nature. She also loved eating what the nature produced, just like how they ate fish freshly caught from the river earlier, and now a wild animal from the savanna.

“It’s good if you like it. You must eat a lot then,” said Xion. The man glanced at Therius as if giving the prince his sign of approval.

‘Emma is kind of cool. She can hang out with us just fine. She also never complains. I like her.’

Therius smiled as he read Xion’s thoughts.

‘I know,’ he said.

The prince then helped Emma light a fire and grill their meat. The three of them sat around the fire to make sure their meat was cooked well and could be eaten right away for breakfast. They also used the fire to warm their bodies against the freezing temperature and talked warmly.

They discussed the condition of the planet Daneria and the numerous discoveries stored in the Daneria space base by the research teams.

“How many space bases have you been to?” Emma asked Therius while she was boiling water in a metal pot by wrapping her hands around it. She then offered the two men tea. “Do you guys want hot drinks? It’s still very cold here.”

Therius and Xion nodded. Emma then took some tea and brewed it in the pot until a nice smell of tea wafted in the air. She then poured tea to a cup for each one of them.

While drinking hot tea by the fire, the three young people continued chatting and grilling their meat. Emma repeated her question when Therius asked her what was it that she wanted to know.

“How many space bases, including Daneria, have you visited so far?”

“Only two. I haven’t had the chance to visit all of them because of their remote locations. I just so happen to stop by Daneria because of the route that our ship took on its way to your planet and back from there,” Therius explained.

“Are all those space bases as beautiful as Daneria?” Emma asked again.

“Hmm … based on the reports I received, not everything is like this. Some planets are actually quite rough. They only have the elements to build a space base but not really habitable. There, we have to do terraforming so that the planet’s condition could be improved.”

“Ah, how interesting,” said Emma.

“Actually, what you’ve seen in Daneria so far is nothing,” said Therius. “After eating and cleaning up, I’ll take you to another place in Daneria which is also quite interesting.”

Emma’s ears perked up. She realized that even though Daneria was a small planet, it was still huge. She hadn’t explored it and saw everything this planet had to offer.

“What’s in that place?” asked Emma.

“There is a huge salt flat in the area, and when you are standing there, you will feel like the border between heaven and earth disappear. It looks like a giant mirror, reflecting the sky to the ground,” said Therius. “Another interesting thing is, around the region, there are some very exotic animals. We actually took some of these amazing animals to Akkadia and bred them there.”

Emma was excited to hear that.

“If I’m not mistaken, we also have such a place on earth, in Bolivia. Its called Salar De Uyuni. But it is a prehistoric lake full of salt that has dried up, so the surface is now covered by salt reflecting the sky. You will feel like you are in a fantasy world with a gigantic mirror. Also, you almost can’t tell where heaven ended and where the earth started….”

Emma had heard a lot about Salar de Uyuni. She had never been there, but if she and Haoran weren’t trapped in the ship bound for Akkadia like they were now, Emma would definitely make Salar de Uyuni her bucket list to visit with Haoran.

Ahh … never in a million years, she thought she would visit such a place in outer space.

“Yes, it sounds similar to the salt flat we are about to visit,” Therius nodded. “That place looks especially beautiful when you go there at nighttime and watch the billions of stars in the space. You will see the reflection of the night sky together with the moons and stars reflected on the salt flat. It will make you feel like you are drifting in outer space. It feels really magical.”

Emma pursed her lips and involuntarily sighed. She couldn’t imagine it. It must be super beautiful!

“Is it far from here?” she asked Therius. The man could see anticipation and excitement plastered all over her face.

“It’s not far. If we leave after eating and washing up, we’ll have enough time to enjoy the night view for five hours,” said Therius.

“That’s enough. I can’t wait!” said Emma happily.
