Finding Stardust - Chapter 168 Prince Heron Prince Lich
Therius’ face suddenly turned red. It was clear that he didn’t like the important guest.
‘Heron is my cousin. He has no clear reason to come all the way here. I assume he only wants to intercept me on my way back,’ Therius told Emma and Xion using telemancy. ‘Emma has to hide, don’t let Heron see her.’
He frowned at Xion, and the young man immediately nodded.
“Let’s get on the ship first. Therius can take care of them,” said Xion as he pulled Emma’s hand.
‘Can’t you control their minds like what you did before?’ asked Emma. She wanted to know what Therius’ cousin was like and what he wanted.
Therius’ expression did not change at all, it remained stoic, so outsiders could not guess what he was thinking, but Emma and Xion could listen to the prince’s words and know how furious he was.
‘I cannot do it. Heron has two formidable bodyguards, and one of them is a telemancer. If I used telemancy here, he would be able to figure out my secrets. No one should know that I am also a telemancer,’ said Therius.
‘Then what would you say if they asked to see The Coralia’s mission leader? He will know it’s you,’ said Xion.
Therius sighed. He had no idea that his cousin would come all the way here to stop him.
‘I’m going to have Saul represent me,’ he said. He then turned to the officer who had come to greet him and asked, “Where is Prince Heron?”
“Professor Amara is giving Your Highness Prince Heron a tour around this compound,” replied the officer.
“Hmm … did he come with a bald man?” asked Therius. “And a woman with black hair?”
The officer nodded. “Yes, he did.”
Therius clenched his fists in annoyance. The bald man he was referring to was the telemancer who worked as Heron’s bodyguard. His name was Mayn.
Professor Amara, the space base leader, was the only person in Daneria who knew Therius’ real identity. If Mayn decided to force professor Amara to tell Heron about Therius’ arrival here, then surely Heron would have known the truth.
Therius turned to Emma and Xion and signaled that they should stay back on the Coralia ship as planned, while he hurried off the travs to enter professor Amara’s office.
Emma and Xion looked at each other. They finally decided not to make things difficult for Therius and walked toward the ship as instructed.
In Professor Amara’s office, Therius found Saul sitting waiting for him. He immediately rose from his chair when he saw his leader coming.
“Good day, Sir Therius. Prince Heron is here to visit Daneria, and he wants to meet all the mission leaders who are currently in this space base. Aside from our ship, there is another research ship stopping by Daneria,” said Saul respectfully. “Prince Heron is being shown around by Professor Amara. We were told to wait here.”
“Saul, I want to send a message to Akkadia. Prepare a messenger ship now. Hurry! This is an emergency!” said Therius. “We have to send a message before Prince Heron comes back here.”
Saul looked confused. Even though he was the Coralia ship’s captain, he didn’t know who Therius actually was.
“Uhm … Prince Heron made it clear that we should wait for him here. I dare not disobey an order from a royalty,” Saul said stubbornly.
Therius clicked. “I am your mission leader. It is my order that you must obey.”
“Sir, please don’t put me in a difficult position,” said Saul, this time he pleaded. “I must obey your orders, but I also mustvery well, Sir Therius. I will get a messenger ship ready for you.”
While Saul was talking, Therius had taken control of his mind and made the captain submit to his wishes. Therius didn’t have time to convince Saul to do as he said.
The captain immediately rushed to the hangar and ordered his men to prepare a messenger ship.
“Thank you, Saul. I’ll immediately send a message to Akkadia. You wait a minute,” said Therius.
He got into the small ship and recorded his message quickly. Five minutes later, he got out and ordered Saul to immediately send the messenger ship back to Akkadia.
“Now let’s meet Prince Heron,” said Therius firmly.
He and Saul returned to Professor Amara’s office and sat there, waiting for Prince Heron and Professor Amara to return.
Half an hour later, the door to Professor Amara’s office was opened from the outside and entered a staff member who bowed respectfully to Therius and Saul.
“Sir, Prince Heron is waiting for all of you in the hall. He would like to hear reports from all the research teams who are currently in Daneria. The other mission leaders are already on their way,” he said.
Therius nodded. He walked out, followed by Saul and two of the other Coralia leadership staff. They headed to the hall, which was now filled with staff and members of the other mission teams.
When Therius entered the hall, he immediately saw his cousin sitting on the distinguished seats. Prince Heron was a young man with curly brown hair. His face was handsome and looked dignified. On his right side was Professor Amara who looked at him in reverence.
To Heron’s left was a bald, middle-aged man. He was one of the prince’s two famous bodyguards. Mayne was a telemancer and Izia was an electromancer. Both of them were very dangerous.
Therius furrowed his brow when he didn’t see Izia. He wondered where could the woman be if not around her boss.
“Ah .. is this the mission team from the Coralia Ship?” Prince Heron rose from his seat and walked over to the small group that had just arrived. His face was smiling faintly as he stared at Therius intently. “How’s your mission so far?”
Therius narrowed his eyes, and there was a dangerous glint there. He understood that Heron recognized him but deliberately said nothing in front of the others about Therius’ identity.
Therius suspected that his cousin intentionally pretended not to recognize him as the crown prince so that Heron wouldn’t need to show his respect to Therius.
“Our mission is well underway,” Therius said shortly.
In the hall, only Heron, Professor Amara, and Heron’s two bodyguards were not surprised by Therius’ indifference toward Heron. They all knew that as the crown prince, Therius did not need to be respectful of Heron at all.
However, the other audience members immediately shuddered when they realized that a man dared to be rude to a prince.
Whispers rang among them and the audience looked at one another in astonishment. Why did the Coralia’s mission leader seem so arrogant?
“Ah … then please give us the report. I want to listen …” said Prince Heron, folding his arms across his chest. He didn’t seem angry at all to see Therius’s curt attitude.
Prince Heron’s demeanor remained calm, and it quickly aroused sympathy among the audience. Ah, as it turned out, the royal family was anything but arrogant and snobby. Prince Heron wasn’t bothered by Coralia Ship’s Mission leader, they thought.
Therius shook his head. “I am sorry, we cannot publicly present Coralia’s mission progress to anyone. We carry out this task directly from His Majesty King Cassius. I suppose Prince Heron would understand what that means?”
“You think I’ll believe your words? I am the Prince of Akkadia and I just met my grandfather a few months ago before I came here,” Heron said with a mocking smile. “What is the proof if you were sent by King Cassius?”
Therius read Heron’s mind to find out what his cousin’s plan was and he immediately became furious. Fortunately, he kept his ability as a telemancer a secret, so no one kept their guard up while he was around.
Therius quickly got all the information he needed. Apparently, Heron brought a battleship with him, and he planned to kill Therius on his way home. His presence in Daneria was to ensure Therius was indeed on board the Coralia ship.
“Prince Heron, I just sent a messenger ship to Akkadia to let the king know that I am meeting you in Daneria. If anything happens to us and the Coralia does not return safely to Akkadia with all its crew, King Cassius will hear all this,” Therius said sternly.
“Ah .. why does the mission leader look so annoyed? Of course, we will make sure all Coralia’s passengers arrive safely in Akkadia. We do know how valuable the people you have onboard are.”Heron smiled mockingly and raised his hand.
A ruthless-looking woman with black hair fashioned into an elegant bun on top of her head suddenly entered the hall from the door to the left.
She forcefully pulled a girl who was trying to escape. The girl’s beautiful face seemed filled with anger.
“Emma!” Therius held his breath. His forehead twitched. He didn’t know how Izia could get a hold of Emma. Didn’t Xion protect Emma? Where was he?
Finally, Therius decided to stop pretending and called Heron by name. His face was filled with fury. “Heron. Let go of her. Don’t you dare touch even a single strand of her hair!”
Everyone in the audience was shocked when they saw the commotion. What was happening now?
“Ahh.. Prince Licht. You no longer want to stay in character?” Heron mocked Therius. “That’s a shame. You acted so well as a lowly mission leader.”
