Fire Starter At White Day High - Chapter 27 3 Years Of Humiliation
The 25 handpicked students that will partake the Overall Skill Selection gathered at a room, and will about to be taught with things they need to know.
Lucas, Moon and Doll sat near each other as always. Doll at the center, with Moon allowing the girl to rest her head on his left shoulder.
Lucas, looking at the whole room, recognized some familiar faces —Steel, Winter, Ghaile, Scottie, and that irritating Nath. Lucas supported his head by his left hand, looking like uninterested.
Chatters and whispers were all over heard, until Principal Lyns arrived late as always.
“So, here it is..” Principal Lyns walked elegantly, talking at the very moment she entered the room. Holding a clipped papers supported with brown board, she stood at the front of everyone.
She pointed her gaze to everyone, speaking, “Do you remember what I told to you last night?”
Buzzes of sounds gradually become heard. Lucas was still bored.
“Remembered the Assassins thing?” Principal Lyns asked with a smile of malice. “It was a no-go false mission. All I wanted was to distract all of you..”
Moon looked bored, too. Even Doll fell asleep at Moon’s shoulder. Almost all of the students weren’t listening anymore, not even a single one.
“Since all of you have reached the ‘false mission’ I have given.. you all put your attentions into finding the assassins.. Haha,” she just chuckled, continuing still despite the group’s uninterested behaviors.
Principal Lyns later noticed it. She stopped abruptly, clearing her throat. She thought that when she speaks about the false mission, everyone will be enraged, but did not.
“Enough of the jokes,” she continued. “Did you know that once you’ve passed the upcoming selection and represent our school.. you can’t ever participate again?”
Everyone’s attentions hooked. It even awoken Doll, and made Lucas excited.
“It was once in your lifetime experience. So you must do your best, because the tournament is not just a tournament. It was an all-out country war. Schools over schools.. competing to win the title of the strongest school in the country..”
Lucas wanted this kind of lesson. He has no time for jokes, love, nor anything materials. All he’d putting his attention to was his meaning —to prove it.
“I am looking forward to our Three Beasts..” Principal Lyns gazed to those behind Lucas. Lucas turned back.
for visiting.
A tall boy stood, “Eyepatch Thunder..”
Another one, but a girl, was called. “Pea Hardshell..”
And, “Winter Dawn.”
Lucas was left in awe. Moon and Doll also looked back.
“The Three Beasts have a high percentage probability of getting selected.” Principal Lyns announced. “You can all be seated.”
As the three sat, Doll spoke. “You know what? Those three were the strongest among all of us.” she informed. “Even stronger that Two Bastions, Lucas..”
Principal Lyns continued by walking nearer to the group. “And I can only apologize.. Sorry, Lucas, for what happened yesterday..”
Lucas was shocked. She maybe referring to what the people called him. Those harsh words were never be replaced, they will stay as words.
“You don’t know why White People acted like that towards Asphoes..” she continued walking. “This is the perfect time for you to know.”
“Before the tenth year of the tournament started, White Day won two of its three titles. We’ve found out a way to continuously won all of the upcoming tournaments.. But Aspho High put their eyes onto us..”
“By that tenth year, Aspho High send us a batch of transferee from them. We accepted them, so they are all selected. Those students were really stronger from what we’ve expected. But it the end, they remained loyal to Aspho..”
Lucas and Moon were just quiet. Almost everyone, too.
“They acted weak at the actual tournament, and lost.” Principal Lyns stopped to clean her specs. She walked, wandering the whole room as she spoke.
“We thought it was only an incident that can be avoided the next time. Another year have passed and we accepted another batch of strong Asphoes. Unexpectedly still, they lost the tournament.”
“That year marked the White Day’s dark days; two consecutive years of becoming the weakest school of all, while Aspho was hailed as the strongest with their 2 consecutive wins, with an overall of 3 titles that time..”
Lucas knew that Aspho was the tournament’s first winner. So they won their second title at the tenth year? So that why they were too desperate to win at every rate.
“Next year, it keeps happening. Another set of super strong student transferred in to White Day from Aspho. Yet, unexpectedly, they all got defeated. And Coach Clive learned about the sabotage.”
They keep listening, not so similar from they were before. Even the youngest Ghaile, and the eldest one was listening.
“That three year mark, three years of Aspho’s Victory, and White Day’s Despair. Three consecutive wins for them made possible because of our team. They helped Aspho to win, and made White Day to lose; that’s how immature Aspho is until now.”
Lucas felt guilty. He can’t blame White People now at this point. They have a deep meaning from getting angry. But he was not like the Asphoes from before. He even wanted to crush Vacio, rather than to help him.
But, Lucas has no choice. Even if he was handpicked because he wanted to win for this school, people still think that he was sent to betray White Day again. How bad fate really is..
