Fix Smile Order - CH 113
Tang Tianyuan’s primary purpose for bringing Tan Lingyin to his courtyard was for her safety. That aside, it was great to have her live so close to him; he could see her more often.
All of a sudden, two more people and a lion lived in the small courtyard, which made it much more lively. At this sensitive moment, Tang Tianyuan didn’t plan to recruit new servants from the outside. He had Xianggua to serve Zheng Shaofeng, Xiuli to serve Tan Lingyin, and he temporarily assigned a scullery maid for himself. None of them were needy or delicate people, so this would make do.
All three of them were exhausted, especially Tang Tianyuan, who only slept for two hours in three days. So they fell into a deep slumber as soon as they returned; they were not called up to eat until noon.
Tan Lingyin doesn’t want to get up yet, she hasn’t slept enough yet. She buried her head in the quilt, pretending not to hear Xiuli’s call.
Xueli snickered and asked, “Head Commissioner Tan, how about I tickle the soles of your feet?”
“…” Tan Lingyin got up silently.
After washing up, Tan Lingyin came to the dining room. Tang Tang was already at the door waiting for her; it had long smelled the fragrance of cooked meat. Seeing Tan Lingyin approaching, Tang Tang happily ran over and followed her into the dining room.
Zheng Shaofeng sat at the table, pointed at Tang Tang with his chopsticks, and laughed, “This lion is about to reach spiritual consciousness.”
Tan Lingyin was pleased to hear Zheng Shaofeng compliment her dog, as if he were complimenting her. This was not the first time she was told that Tang Tang seemed to have reached spiritual consciousness.
She picked Tang Tang up and put it in Zheng Shaofeng’s arms, patted its head, “Tang Tang, be good.” Then she sat on another stool.
Tang Tianyuan pulled the stool for her. He then glanced at her nonchalantly with a faint smile on his lips.
Tang Tang was indeed very obedient; honestly, he doesn’t care who is hugging him at the moment. Tang Tang leaned on the edge of the table with its two front legs and stared greedily at the dishes on the table.
Zheng Shaofeng was a little flustered. This, this, this was a real lion! He had never dreamed that one day he would be eating with a lion in his arms! Zheng Shaofeng touched Tang Tang’s head with some caution, and asked softly, “Tang Tang, what do you want to eat? I’ll grab it for you.”
“My lord, there’s no need to serve it on the table.” Tan Lingyin was embarrassed, “It’s too flattering.” Then, she lightly knocked on Tang Tang’s head across the table, “Tang Tang, get down.”
Tang Tang’s full attention was on the bowl of braised pork; it didn’t listen to Tan Lingyin’s command this time.
Zheng Shaofeng disagreed, “How can you say that? Tang Tang is the great hero in suppressing the bandits, so he should be seated here.” He then followed Tang Tang’s gaze and saw it was looking at the braised pork. Zheng Shaofeng happily picked up a large piece, put it in a bowl, and pushed it before Tang Tang.
Tang Tang excitedly ate it. He then licked his tongue after eating, and gave Zheng Shaofeng an approving gaze.
Zheng Shaofeng kept feeding Tang Tang as if he had been injected with adrenaline.
Tang Tianyuan also kept serving Tan Lingyin food as if he had been injected with adrenaline.
So for this meal, both Tan Lingyin and Tang Tang overate their fill.
Tang Tianyuan left them to digest in the courtyard, and went to the Retreat Hall by himself. Xueli took two girls to the Southern Study to get Tan Lingyin’s things. Tang Tianyuan had given his opinion, it was best for Tan Lingyin to live in his courtyard until the case was settled.
When Tang Tianyuan came to Retreat Hall, Li Dawang told him that there was an emergency at County Deputy Zhou’s home. He had wanted to ask the County Magistrate for a leave since he had to rush back, but the County Magistrate didn’t get up for a while. He left first and asked Li Dawang to inform him and left him an application for leave.
Tang Tianyuan glanced at the application for leave, and then replied lightly, “Got it.”
He knew there was no such coincidence for Zhou Zhengdao to have such an urgent matter at home. They were most likely in a mess. Unable to think of any counters, Zhou Zhengdao must have hurriedly went to Zong Yinglin for further instructions.
Zhou Zhengdao no longer understood the methods of the County Magistrate. He didn’t know how this young man moved so many rescuers overnight without the support of the Prefect Magistrate. Such extraordinary power was very frightening.
He also couldn’t figure out why the County Magistrate wanted to complete the interrogation overnight. Why did he strengthen the defense of the cell, and even spread news that someone was going to kill the prisoners?
There must be something he doesn’t know, and it must be something serious.
So Zhou Zhengdao got up early in the morning and went to Chizhou Prefecture Mansion immediately. Since everyone knew that he was sent by the Prefecture Magistrate, as tacit people, there was no need to hide so much.
Zong Yinglin didn’t see Zhou Zhengdao immediately. This was because he was receiving another group of people.
“My lord, this little one did find a lot of skilled people, but unexpectedly someone would have a tryst at the door of the cell in the middle of the night. Their verbal and physical display of affection, caused the assassins to accidentally leak their positions. Because the assassins were soon discovered, they could only retreat.”
The corner of Zong Yinglin’s mouth twitched. “Nonsense. Who would choose such a place for a lovers’ rendezvous?”
“Really! They even kissed!… The assassin comrades were also surprised, otherwise they wouldn’t have been discovered. Oh, this little one was informed that the person who discovered our assassins was an extremely skilled person.”
“There was someone else?” Zong Yinglin was taken aback. He then realized immediately, and sighed, “They were waiting to ambush us!” Fortunately, they were discovered early, otherwise they would have been captured alive if they entered. From this point of view, he had to thank the psychopaths who chose to have a tryst at that location.
“Then… my lord, what shall we do now?”
Zong Yinglin snorted. “That Tang Feilong has quite a few tricks up his sleeves. He probably already obtained some information from the interrogation.” He sighed suddenly. Not because the opponent was too powerful, but because this powerful person turned out to be an opponent, not for his underling.
The man asked again, “My lord, what shall we do now?”
Zong Yinglin was quite impatient being asked the same question over and over again. He was a highly intelligent person, but he had to wipe the a*ses of a group of idiots all day long. This made him feel depressed, as if he was born ahead of his time; as one of Heaven’s favored talents, he was forced to bear so much hardship. If he had known this before, he shouldn’t have gotten involved in this matter. He didn’t get much money, yet there were troubles every other day.
But thinking about the potential of endless wealth, Zong Yinglin had no choice but to grit his teeth and endure.
