Follow You To The End - Chapter 1
I thought there was a firework in the sky.
Aris thought so the moment he saw her…
Red flames fluttering in the wind.
It was because of the woman’s bright red hair fluttering in the wind.
The woman with her thick curly hair tied high into one, stood out.
She fell fluttering in the wind, and this time she struck hard.
Then, she cut off the leg of Masu, who was chasing after Aris, with a sword.
Translucent fluorescent green blood spattered.
The running beast, Masu, could not overcome the inertia and fell with a loud sound.
A pair of swords fell in the middle of its large skull before the demon could rise again. As the skull split, a light-emitting nucleus emerged. The owner of the swords used the sword like a lever to pull out a nucleus that was covered with cerebrospinal fluid. The nucleus fell to the bottom and contaminated the surrounding land, but the beast turned ash and began to disappear.
Her red hair fluttered along with ashes, it was like a real firework.
The woman slowly turned in the direction of Aris, chasing the rolling core of Masu with her eyes.
The red hair rose slightly in the wind and sank.
Aris looked at it with fascination, and his eyes met her eyes, which looked like olivines in between her floating red curly hair.
Something thumped in Aris’ heart as he looked through the goggles he was wearing. The woman’s eyes, which he thought to be flames, were unexpectedly like fresh vegetation with spring sunlight projected from above. She was a pretty person with a young face.
Is she of his age?
Even if he estimated a lot, she didn’t look over early 20s.
Aris recalled the day later and said that he was definitely in love at first sight at that moment. Now he had a bigger idea of what that was.
“Are you all right?”
Aris later came to his senses, when the woman asked him in a slightly slurred Myryan language.
As if when he had a stupid expression, Aris’ face filled with alertness, he narrowed his eyes and hesitated a little.
He was chased by a wolf-like beast with three pairs of legs, so she saved him as much as possible, and this was his reaction.
Aris drew his gaze from the woman and struck the nucleus that fell one step forward, with his sword. Fragments splattered with a crack in the glass.
The woman laughed blankly when she saw it.
She did not understand why a man who knew swordsmanship was running away from the attacking beast. And as the woman thought, that Aris was not in a situation where he needed help, although he was chased by evil. He was just less bothered with running away than dealing with it.
“Thanks to you, I was saved. I almost got into trouble.”
It sounded ironic
The man sharpened his double swords and put them in his waist-dancing sword collection.
“On my way here, I saw the demons moving and came after them, and I am glad I followed them.”
The woman looked at the nucleus that Aris split in two and laughed awkwardly.
“Did I possibly do something unnecessary?”
Anyone with a basic level of swordsmanship would’ve killed the beast, but he wondered why the woman had come out.
“No, I was running away because I was too lazy to deal with it, but I’m grateful you took care of it.”
This also sounded ironic. The woman made an awkward expression. Aris looked up and down at the other person to the point of rudeness.
“But what brings you to a place like this? How did you get here?”
She was the first intruder he had seen in almost half a year. The woman rolled her eyes at his words.
“Well, I was on my way to deliver relief supplies to the village. However, it seems that the demons were sticking to this side while moving. After I arrived at the village, I heard that some people had not returned yet, and I couldn’t help but come because of my guilty conscience.”
At the words, Aris crumpled his face as if he had no intention of managing his expression.
“Did you say it’s relief?”
“Yes.”
“Where do you belong? I’ve never heard of anything like that.”
The moment the woman tried to answer Aris’ question, the cry of a beast could be heard from far away. At the same time, the two stopped talking and turned their heads toward the direction of the sound. It wasn’t right near, but it wasn’t heard from a safe distance.
He had a lot of questions, but Aris packed his few things because it would take a long time to hear the whole situation. He spoke to the woman in Roamena Eastern language.
The woman looked at Aris speaking in a different language, not in the Myryan language, so she also answered in the language Aris spoke.
“How did you know that I speak Roamena Eastern Common?”
“It’s obvious from the accent.”
“I haven’t said much, but you’re sharp.”
Unlike the woman’s surprised voice, Aris spoke indifferently.
“And it’s your unique appearance.”
“Most of the time, that’s it, but I don’t make such a detailed inference.”
“It’s Aris Klineshire.”
Aris introduced himself and touched his disheveled bangs, taking off his goggles. The woman looked happy looking at Aris’ face.
“You said I’m an outsider, but you’re not from this area either. The name, the appearance, and the last name… Kleinshire…?
