Forbidden Zone of the Human Race - Chapter 443: Law Enforcement
After searching the entire main hall of the Hunters Guild, Xiang Ning still hadn’t found anything useful other than a map that marked all the recommended places for a hunter depending on their cultivation. The outermost layers required at least tier three for a person to protect themselves, while the innermost region meant certain death for anyone under tier seven. Xiang Ning was looking for an area that contained tier five to six beasts.
That region was far from Kunlun City, but it was a huge place. Xiang Ning knew how to get there; all he had to do was travel to the canyon, then it was two hundred and thirty kilometers in a straight line ahead. That place had all the necessary geographical features for life—mountains, rivers, lakes, marsh, and jungle. It was perfect for beasts.
He walked around but there wasn’t any information worth buying, so he decided to return to Liuyuan Hotel and take a nap before leaving at night.
He had just arrived at the crossroad outside the hotel when he heard an argument.
“What are you doing… no, you may not pass! I dare you to try!”
“Heh, you’re a bold one. What if I want to? What will you do, you three-inch witch?” Li Youlong laughed.
The three-inch witch in question was naturally the boss lady of the hotel. Although she was barely more than 1.5 meters tall, she wasn’t THAT short. That was her main insecurity, so when she heard him say that, she exploded.
“Three-inch witch?”
“Hehe, you look like a… FUCK!” Li Youlong suddenly bent over like a cooked shrimp, his face red. All the men in the crowd instantly covered their crotches, a chill running through them. She was very strong.
“Boss lady is awesome.”
“That’s Li Youlong, a tier five martial artist… he was hit just like that. Heh… heheh… maybe even a Sect Master wouldn’t be able to take that blow.”
“Tsk, tsk. She got herself in trouble.”
“You bitch!” Li Youlong took a deep breath, straightening his back, then his aura exploded. Everyone, including the boss lady, turned pale.
Then there were a few gasps and Li Youlong felt a sharp pain on the back of his head. His eyes rolled up and he fell to the floor face-first, unconscious.
“Xiang… Xiang Ning.”
“Good day, lady boss!”
“Shut your mouth. The guy was here for you, what the hell’d you do?”
“I don’t know either. I just found something good and they wanted it.”
“Let me tell you this. Even though you’re very handsome and you’re eye candy, if you cause trouble here and affect my business, I’ll still kick you out.”
“Yes, yes, yes. I apologize for troubling you, boss lady.”
The boss lady looked down at the unconscious Li Youlong, hands on her hips. “Take him away, this isn’t a garbage dump. You deal with that before coming back.”
The people who had led Li Youlong over finally came to their senses. Their boss had been ambushed and knocked unconscious, and the attacker was an eighteen-year-old brat! When they were about to retaliate—
A siren sounded. “It’s the guys from law enforcement!” someone gasped.
The guild members stopped and snickered, “Hehe, you’re in trouble, kid!”
They had no fear because they’d bribed the law enforcers. Although they didn’t know why such a minor incident had triggered them, as long as Xiang Ning was caught, he would be much easier to threaten later.
When the boss lady saw them coming, her expression darkened. Everyone knew Li Youlong was prominent in Kunlun City; although he wasn’t very strong, money was his power.
“Hehe, officer, look. You look at this! My brother was hit by this kid for no reason and he’s unconscious now. That was a deliberate attack! What if something happened to my brother? What would become of his family?”
Xiang Ning frowned. He wasn’t nervous and would cooperate with any investigations. Even if there were already other hidden arrangements, he wasn’t afraid either. He had the power, money, and the fifty beast cores he’d just bought. He could stone someone to death with the number of beast cores he had.
The leading officer had a strong aura. He came up to Xiang Ning, and when they all thought he was going to take him away, he said, “Good day, please follow me to the law enforcement office for recording purposes.”
“Hahaha, you’re in deep trouble!” The minion of the Dancing Dragon Guild had only just spoken when he heard a click. He looked down and saw that his hands were cuffed.
“Uh… Brother, what is the meaning of this? Have you cuffed the wrong person?”
“We received a report that you people were disrupting the peace. Follow me now.”
“Wait, we’re cuffed, but what about him?” He pointed at Xiang Ning.
The officer ignored his question and shoved his shoulder. “Shut your mouth and go!”
Based on such harsh treatment, even an idiot understood what happened.
“Wow, did Law Enforcement change leadership?”
“Interesting development, did Li Youlong not properly pay his bribes? Haha.” Although no one had direct conflict with the Dancing Dragon Guild, it still felt good to see a man with a bad reputation getting ambushed and caught.
The boss lady was also confused. Since when had their Law Enforcement been so just?
Xiang Ning guessed that someone was orchestrating the entire thing. Who else could it be but that Sect Master? Xiang Ning was the one who had ambushed Li Youlong, so he should have been cuffed as well. Yet now, he was basically invited into the vehicle so it was all out of the ordinary.
The officers were very respectful to him. At the law enforcement office, everything happened smoothly. His witness account was recorded, and since there wasn’t anything else, he was immediately discharged. It felt like he was just there to sightsee, and he didn’t like owing people favors. It was just a minor problem that he could have settled himself! However, only Bo Yan knew that now wasn’t a good time for even a tiny spot to dirty Xiang Ning’s name, even if his opponent was a bad person. Xiang Ning’s life was about to change in a year’s time.
Although he had come to Kunlun City alone, many parties were well-informed of his arrival.
Bo Yan was very impressed by his excellence since even the Eight Pillars were paying attention to him.
Back at Liuyuan Hotel, the boss lady stood at the entrance, relieved, when she saw Xiang Ning return. Xiang Ning felt the warmth in his heart—he had just arrived, but she still cared for him.
“Haha, can’t believe you returned so quickly. They didn’t cause you any trouble, did they?”
“No trouble at all, it was all very quick,” he grinned.
But the boss lady and the young man next to her ignored him. “Come, come, we cooked a few eggs for you. Your luck has been rotten these days, meeting them. Time to replenish it with an egg or two.”
