Forest Survival: From Logging to Login - Chapter 37
F*ck!
Ed cursed in his heart.
His hands trembled as he sent the video out.
With a thought, he quickly switched back to the chat interface.
“Look at that corn field!”
“A god is a god. Even getting corn is a piece of cake.”
“This is a life that we can’t even begin to envy.”
Many survivors had still been discussing Ed’s last video.
The chat interface seemed to fall silent for a moment as a brand new video suddenly popped up in the chat interface. The people who had been spamming texts across the screen had all seemed to have disappeared, giving the interface a rare pause of silence.
Yet, Ed knew that it was going to erupt again soon. He had accidentally sent out the video of his feast.
As he expected, one message after another started to sweep across the entire chat interface, more outraged than before. Many who had just been secretly lurking had also started to speak up.
The entire interface was now in heated discussion..
“Holy shit! Fish soup?”
“And grilled fish! The sound of his chewing makes me hungry!”
“Releasing poison in the middle of the night, damn it! Damn it!”
“And a whole Beggar’s Chicken!”
“Could it be that chicken dude?”
“It must be. Damn… This meal is too rich! Is he here to survive or is he on vacation?”
“I suddenly feel that the apple in my hand is not sweet anymore.”
One after another, the others in the chat interface started worshiping the owner of the video, Ed. There were even people who sent him seductive videos to curry favor.
However, he wouldn’t fall for that. In this world, he couldn’t be too careful, and he wouldn’t trust anyone. It would be too late to regret it after getting stabbed in the back.
More and more people offering their services started contacting Ed.
Just as he was about to close the chat interface, he noticed that a new video had been sent out.
Out of curiosity, he clicked on it to take a look.
The video revealed a hunting scene, the target of the hunt being a wolf. However, judging from its condition, it had already been suffering pre-existing serious injuries.
A long spear abruptly pierced through the wolf’s brain.
“Hunting a wolf, another big shot!”
“It accurately pierced through the wolf’s brain just like that!”
“There’s chicken man eating a big meal, and then there’s a warrior killing a wild wolf!”
The voices of the fans began to pour over to the other side.
The owner of the video was the brawny man who had traded for Ed’s tiger teeth. As he hated Ed with a fiery passion, he naturally despised that Ed was starting to become popular.
As such, he had posted the video of himself hunting a wolf, to much praise.
Although it had clearly been an injured wolf, the video itself was still very amusing.
The brawny man sent out a text.
“Kid, don’t let me find you, or I’ll let you experience the power of my spear too.”
No explanation was needed to know who this sentence was referring to.
In the eyes of the brawny man, Ed only knew how to catch fish and chickens. It wasn’t something befitting of a man at all.
A real man should be going out bravely, seeking experience and exploration. That was what made life interesting.
The burly man thought to himself that Ed had probably never even seen a wild beast before.
As soon as he had sent out the text, he had immediately amassed a large group of survivors who began to agree with him.
People’s hearts were like this, fickle and always wanting to point out the faults of others.
“Wolf guy is right. Isn’t all that made him special having some forest chickens? Who wouldn’t know how to catch those?”
“I think this so-called chicken man has never even seen a wild beast before. He can only farm every day to maintain his life.”
“I think he was just lucky to have spawned in a place with many resources.”
These followers didn’t have any brains. In any case, they just hadn’t been able to stand seeing Ed being able to eat such good food, creating jealousy in their hearts.
Jealousy was a terrifying mentality.
There were even people who had begun to use words attacking Ed’s character.
As he looked at the texts flying across the chat interface, Ed’s expression grew colder and colder.
If the man had just wanted to act cool, he wouldn’t have objected at all. However, he should never have drawn fire on Ed. After all, Ed was still in his prime. How could he simply let others insult him like this? Any normal person would have felt their blood boil.
You want to act cool? Fine!
Ed swiftly launched the recording interface and selected a video. It was the one of him hunting the tiger earlier that day. He nonchalantly edited it before quickly clicking finish.
After a few seconds, the video appeared on the chat interface, and the survivors who had been busy in heated discussions clicked on it.
The chat interface fell quiet again.
No one spoke after Ed’s video had appeared.
Two minutes soon passed, but there was still no sound.
The survivors who had seen the video had all been stunned speechless, watching with widened eyes, mouths agape, and their breathing rapid.
Who knew that in such a world, there would actually be such a bold person.
The new video had clearly been different from that of the brawny man’s. Everyone saw the scars on the wolf that the previous man had hunted, that had clearly not been caused by a spear.
However, the tiger in this video did not have any wounds on its body, yet it had still been killed just like that. Moreover, the video was in first-person, giving viewers an exhilarating sense of courage and adrenaline as if they could have been the person in the video.
“I’m usually passive, but I like to kill tigers like this.”
Ed had included a short caption.
He didn’t care what others would think of it, as long as he was comfortable.
That man had only killed a wolf that had already been on the verge of death, yet he still dared to show off and call Ed out without even considering if he had the right to do so.
Ed’s sentence was also clearly in response to the brawny man’s and those who had attacked him earlier.
As the survivors saw the caption, they seemed to collectively draw a sharp breath of cold air.
He had been doing this for so long that he thought of killing tigers as a normal part-time activity!
What kind of person was this?!
The other survivors could barely flee from the beasts, and this person had already started killing tigers.
Moreover, some of the other survivors had also previously shared that although tigers weren’t typically social animals, they had noticed that under such circumstances, they had begun to reach a consensus to cooperate.
In other words, the owner of the video may have even killed more than one tiger!
There was still no comment from anyone in the chat interface.
Most of the anger in Ed’s heart had dissipated. There was no need to continue being angry over a bunch of trash.
The corners of his mouth curled up as he typed in another paragraph and sent it out.
“Tiger meat, trading price: wood x200… anyone with any two of the listed items can trade with me. Special items can also be traded.”
Ed was no fool. After creating such an effect, it would not make sense if he did not try to earn some resources.
He really was business minded, looking to trade all the time!
