Forever Evil - Chapter 20
Jack’s plan to rally the goblins under him and turn them into proper subjects was to borrow from history and use pathos to sway them to his cause.
Before Jack could go out and greet his people he would need to get a set of clothes first, as much as he enjoyed Free Balling it.
He could not prance around in the nude all day and expect to be taken seriously by his potential workforce.
Only problem was that none of Gyrom’s clothing fit him and there wasn’t exactly a mall anywhere near him to get a new or proper outfit that would suit his style.
Luckily for Jack his problems were conveniently solved again? When the Blue Screen appeared before him.
The Blue Screen requested the material to be used to craft a set of clothing for him.
Jack’s obvious first choice was to use the clothing and pelts in the chest but was denied when the highlighted material blinked red and an error message appeared.
Error: [ Material Must Be Consistent ]
Jack scoffed at the error message.
Jack: ” Tsk, That’s a dumb restriction. ”
Jack looked around he could not use the pile of Fire Fox pelts in the chest since it needed to be made of one overall material to craft.
He set his eyes on the green fur carpet on the ground that he used as a bed and thought to himself, Perfect!
Jack selected the carpet and as it was highlighted it disappeared behind the Blue Screen.
According to his memories this carpet was made from the fur of a Mutated Fire Fox.
A monster that was extremely resilient to physical attacks or atleast to the weak ass sticks and stone weapons Gyrom and the rest of the Goblins had a available.
This mutant Fire Fox had the unique trait of being a deep green color and was much larger in scale when compared to the rest of the Fire Foxes.
A button appeared at the center of the blue screen with the words ” COMPLETE “, the button in question had the symbol of a shirt on it.
As soon as I clicked the button the icon disappeared and the screen closed popping out an object that looked like a green blur from it.
I caught the outfit in mid air as it landed softly in my hands I was surprised by how much the texture of the fur had changed and by how clean and well groomed it looked.
It was as if the outfit was in factory new condition the fur felt so soft and warm in my hands that it was as if the animal it belonged to was still alive!
Whenever the Blue Screen would use up materials it would always return them in a pristine state even if it was dirty and worn out or in poor condition,
The fur was divided into a three set piece a long cape that reached to the bottom of my ankles.
A robe that appeared similar in design to a roman tunic with a thick braided fur belt that was used to tighten the robe.
I put the outfit on with cape and all, it was a loose but flexible size for me despite the bulky girth and width of my new body it fit like a glove.
However it had one flaw, it was too fucking warm they served as good pajamas but as regular clothing it was liable to getting very sweaty and sticky.
Despite my body feeling nice and comfortable the warmth of the outfit made me feel like I would break out into a sweat by simply having it on all day.
So I ripped the torso piece off to expose my bulky and muscular frame and upper body.
This felt much more better as the cool breeze from the caves gave my body a refreshing chill.
I was a native to cold weather where I grew up so I appreciated the cool feeling as it brought back the warm memories of a past life.
I took off the cape and rolled it up before sticking it in the broken wooden chest along with the shirt pieces.
The cape despite being neat felt like it would get in the way during a hunt or battle so I removed it out of practicality.
I could still use them to make an actual bed with a blanket and pillow later.
Apart from the morning wood I was having, I was finally ready to greet the goblins outside.
I tucked in my junk in and picked up Gyrom’s spare staff with my free hand.
I walked over the front of the red drapes and took a deep breathe before fixing my posture and going through the crimson stained drapes.
When I saw the large crowd of familiar goblins bowing before me all looking at me with anticipation in their little yellow goblin eyes a smile spread across my face.
I spoke in a loud and oppressive tone something that was most familiar to these gobs when Gyrom spoke to them.
Jack: ” What Do You Call Me!? ”
In late unison the entire cave of over a hundred goblins replied in a respective shout.
Goblin Crowd: ” Boss!”
Jack: ” And What Am I!? ”
Goblin Crowd: ” OUR ELDER! / OUR LEADER! / OUR BOSS! ”
These three chants were spoken in reply it was a good time for Jack to make the correction.
Jack pointed his staff at an unsuspecting group of goblins who shouted out “Elder!” instead of Boss and caste a spell.
Jack: ” Fire Ball! ”
Jack had a greater magic stat then Gyrom and as a result his Fire Ball was much larger than his.
The ball of fiery death was a radius of six feet wide and tall.
To the average goblin it was nearly twice their size and all had been horrified by its huge appearance that dwarfed their previous Elder Gyrom’s signature Fire Ball.
(*Bwoosh!)
Goblin Group: ” GYAAAAHH!!! ”
When the huge Fire Ball impacted the crowd it exploded into a fiery rain burning the nearby groups of goblins causing the crowd to panic.
The Goblin Group had been turned into piles of cinder and ash not even there bones remained.
Jack: ” I Am Your Boss! ”
Jack: ” And if any one of you forget that You Die! ”
The crowd was completely silent this new Elder Ja’Hack in they’re minds was just as cruel and vicious as the previous maybe even more.
Jack had used this excuse of not calling him Boss to get rid of the remaining supporters of Gyrom’s faction almost all at once who could get in his way and conspire against him.
Although according to Gyrom’s memories they were all weak and small minded which is why they blindly followed him.
Jack felt it was better to be safe rather then take any chances this was not done out of spite but to get rid of any potential threats or nuisances in his path to power.
Jack had used Gyrom’s cruel and ruthless methods to establish credible ownership over his floor level and fear among every goblin present.
It was better to be feared than loved a quote Jack had heard countless times but considered it to be hog wash Hollywood nonsense.
It was only after he absorbed Gyrom that he understood the true meaning behind those words and how they could be used to benefit his cause.
Jack had killed two birds with one big ass Fire Ball to establish his goal’s.
Jack mimicked Gyrom’s way of handling things because he was the only person he could take any real reference from when it came to ruling over goblins.
As a bonus he would not have to deal with being called Ja’Hack by any of these buffoons and will be called something more respectable like Boss.
Jack preferred being called a Boss over being called an Elder it sounded much more bad ass and professional to him and would make things easier in communication.
Without having to deal with long titles like being called Elder Red Ja’Hack every time someone tried to talk to him.
Gyrom who was titled and called Great Elder Red Gyrom every time one of his subjects would speak to him properly.
Being called by such long titles would get old fast unlike the nice and simple Boss which was much more clean cut and straight to the point when addressing a superior.
Right now Jack needed to get loyal competent followers by side to do his bidding and manage his ambitions more statistical and lame side.
he could not use any of Gyrom’s supporters for obvious reasons and needed trustworthy people.
This matter was urgent but needed time to be properly handled.
Jack: ” Now! What Am I!? ”
Goblin Crowd: ” OUR BOSS! ”
I was answered with much more enthusiasm this time good…
This was perfect it meant that they were learning their place and feared me as a leader.
This Gyrom fellow if not for his greed might have been competent enough to make something of his floor if he wasn’t a total pussy against the other Elders.
I did feel a little troubled tho Gyrom knew the names, appearances and, Floor levels of each respective Elder by heart.
But his knowledge was limited to just that he knew next to nothing on their abilities and economic status or social infrastructure or military might.
Gyrom had never been allowed to travel to the lower levels even when his Chieftain rallied the Elders Gyrom was excluded from such meetings.
I could not help but scorn at Gyrom for being such a useless loser if I was going to find out anything I would need to use my Cannibal Collector skill on Goblins from the lower floors.
How should I go about this hmm?
I had much that needed to be addressed but for now I had to focus on improving my own status as an Elder.
By improving my floor level and creating a strong background force to support my conquest to power.
When the time was ripe I would be able to greet and eat the other Elders when my reach in the Tribe expanded.
Jack: ” Now Listen To Me! And Listen Closely! Raise Your Heads and Rise! ALL OF YOU STAND! ”
The goblins who hesitated to rise at first soon stood up and looked at me with fear and anxiety in there hearts.
They had already expected there new Elder to be just like there last one and wondered if he would fire another Fire Ball at them as they watched in dreadful anticipation.
Given there new Elders habit of making absurd demands and acting upon them they paid the utmost attention to Ja’Hack as he spoke.
Jack: “WHY DO YOU STAND BEFORE ME! ”
As soon as Jack said those words every goblin gave each other a scared look none of them were willing to reply with “Because you told us too. ” even though they were all thinking it.
The crowd came to an awkward downcast as they did not know whether they should reply to his question or ignore it.
Or whether or not to stand before him or bow down to avoid a tragic fate every option seemed to be the wrong answer to the crowd..
An awkward silence among the crowd filled the caves as Jack’s intimidation and oppressive aura filled the caves with a suffocating tension.
.
Jack: “Tell Me Are You Goblins Or Bugs! ”
Many of the Goblin Warriors felt extremely insulted and ashamed not even Gyrom the cruel and evil previous Elder would call them Bugs…
In goblin culture to be referred to as a bug was a grave insult it was the equivalent of the
N – word in America.
Jack was fully aware of this taboo and spoke it to incite there anger.
Jack: ” Are You Not All Surface Dwellers!? ”
Jacks words stung at their hearts like a dagger dipped in poison.
For many generations of parents, grandparents, and, great grandparents they’ve been treated as second class citizens by there own tribe and fellow goblins despite all of them being of the same Goblin race..
Even the Elderly Goblins who were at death’s door were beginning to clench their few teeth together and angrily grind them to dust.
Jack: ” Answer Me! Now! Are You!? ”
In unison the crowd spoke with a loud and passionate shout.
Goblin Crowd: ” NO! ”
Jack: “THEN WHY DO YOU ACT LIKE BUGS!”
The whole crowd bit down on their tongues and flinched back at Jack’s overbearing shout, they all went quiet again.
Jack: “For Too Long You Have Suffered! For Too Long You Have Endured The Ridicules Of The Lower Levels! But For What!?
By this point the crowd was struggling to stay silent.
Jack’s constant insults were testing there patience and tolerance for him as they all held back the urge to attack and kill Ja’Hack in a fit of rage.
Jack: ” You Do Not Fight! You Do Not Defend The Honor Of Your Floor! So You Are Bugs! ”
Jacks words had struck at there most sensitive heart strings every goblin could feel their heart burn with a growing passion of anger and sorrow.
The hatred buried deep within their hearts for being treated like lesser beings by the other goblins in their tribe was being forced out and tugged at by Jack.
Jack: ” The Future Of This Floor! No! The Future Of All Our Descendants Are In Your Hands! ”
Jack: ” They Will All Grow Up To Be As Pathetic As You Their Ancestors! And Parents! Nothing But Bugs! If You Do Nothing To Change It! ”
Jack: ” We Are The Only Ones Who Can Change It! ”
Jack: “Think About Why We Fight!, We Fight For A Better Future!”
The crowd felt a cord being reached as there anger and frustration at Jack was being misdirected at the other goblins of the lower floor levels by his promise of change.
Every Goblin stood tall as they stared Jack with a perplexed look they were not entirely convinced but were hopeful to Jack’s proposal for a better future.
By this point Jack had successfully misdirected all the anger and frustration directed at him.
Jack forced each and every one of them to acknowledge themselves as Bugs for not being able to do anything against the lower levels.
They disliked Jack for what he was saying but his words forced the crowd of goblins to acknowledge their centuries long shame and humiliation.
They Could no longer bare to accept the pathetic state and treatment as Surface Dwellers and Bugs and looked for an opportunity at a better life in the form of there new Elder Jack.
Jack: “Will You Stay Bugs! And Watch As Your Descendants Become Bugs! Because You Were To Scared To Change!”
Jack: “Or Will You Follow Me Into Battle! As I Bring Upon Our Floors Glorious Future! ”
The Crowd shouted in a passionate unison every goblin in the room except for a select few replied to his question with complete sincerity.
Goblin Crowd: ” WE FOLLOW BOSS!!! ”
The Goblin Crowd cheered loudly and shouted at the top of their lungs there cheers filled with a new Hope.
Jack: “Good Then From Here On Out You Are No Longer Bugs! But True Goblins! ”
By now Jack had swayed the crowd to his side as they all looked up at him with a new hope gleaming in their eyes.
They began to see Jack in a new light as the Elder who would bring them into a new promised land.
Jack: ” From Now On Any Who Would Dare Call You A Bug Or Surface Dweller, You Have My Permission To Kill! ”
Jack: “Any Who Dare Mock You Or Your Brethren You Have My Permission To Kill! ”
Jack: “As Your Boss I Will Protect You From Any Lower Level Scum! You May Have Many Elders But You Only Have One Boss!”
Jack: “We Will Make This Floor Great Again! ”
Goblin Crowd: ” Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss! Boss!”
Almost every goblin in the crowd chanted at Jack in a cheering frenzy.
Only Gorbum, Gyron and, Gyro were the only ones who did not cheer, each with a complicated and upset expression on there face.
They all had their reasons for not cheering either out of a sense of Blind Loyalty, Vengeance, or Jealousy.
Each of them had a bone to pick with Jack and were clearly unhappy with how things turned out.
Gorbum who obediently followed and acted as Gyron’s body guard and protector stood by his side with a swollen and bruised face.
After Gorbum had knocked Gyron unconscious to save his life, he was beaten mercilessly by Gyron to near death with a stick as soon as he woke up for daring knock him unconscious.
Gyron stood by his side staring at Jack with hate filled eyes grumbling curses under his breath as he still lamented the death of his father Gyrom.
Gyro was standing with his sister Gyra among the audience and while Gyra cheered Gyro stayed quite.
Gyro did not care about his father’s death but his animosity for Jack was fueled by his growing jealousy of him.
Before coming here the previous night Gyro had tried to lay with his sister Gyra but she refused his advances with the excuse of “not being in the mood tonight..”
Although disappointed Gyro still respected his beloved sister’s wishes and fell asleep by himself.
It was not until later in the night when he was awoken by his sisters sudden moaning that be became enraged.
Gyra was having a wet dream about Jack and was sleeps talking very loudly about him as she moaned his name.
By now Jack had unknowingly become the mortal enemy of Gyro who swore on every god and devil that he will not rest until he was dead.
Gyra was standing at the very front of the crowd falling head over heels as she cheered and screamed as loud as she could.
Earlier when Jack had referred to her as a bug she felt so insulted by it she became absolutely livid and was close to marching up to him to give him a strong kick to his balls.
She was of course stopped by her brother.
Gyro held her down fearing what this Ja’Hack would do to her if she dared to try it.
Gyro at first took pleasure in seeing Gyra come to his side but as the speech went on her mood made a complete three hundred sixty degree switch turning Gyros mood sour.
Gyra’s seething rage turned into fanatic worship at the drop of a hat, she shoved and pushed her way through to the very front of the cheering crowd of goblins.
Gyra was in deep ecstasy as her legs became drenched with excitement her heart was racing as the image of Jack standing before the crowd permanently imprinted into her memories.
Jack looked to be larger than life in her eyes and she wanted nothing more then to be with him.
She longed to get Jacks attention and tried to cheer louder than the rest of the crowd as she jumped up and down while waving her hands in the air to get his attention.
Jack only gave her a passing glance but it was enough to make Gyra faint with a blissful smile on her face and a nose bleed
As soon as she fell over Gyro was shocked as he forced his way through the crowd to come over to Gyra.
Gyro was worried he couldn’t understand why she had fainted and thought Gyra had gotten hurt somehow.
But when he arrived to see the blissful smile on her face and the sudden small puddle of liquid beneath her, his anger reached a tipping point as he vomited blood passing out alongside her.
Gyron upon noticing the shameful display of his two lesser siblings had put up, scoffed at them and ordered Gorbum to carry them to there room.
Gorbum felt dejected by his bad luck, he wanted to go back to his cave room and sleep forever in the nice cold dirt and rock floor.
But Gyron refused to let him be instead of treating Gorbum like the proper and loyal Goblin Warrior who saved his life Gyron treated him more like a lackey.
As the cheering died down the whole crowd of goblins eagerly awaited Jack’s orders…
