17.

“Bell-Bell” Sapphire squealed as she toddled over to Isabella, who was in the kitchen, with Benjamin chasing her.

“Caught you” Before Sapphire could reach Isabella, Benjamin picked her up high in the air, making Sapphire break out into peals of laughter.

“Benji more more” Sapphire demanded to be raised into air again and Benjamin did the same again making Sapphire laugh more.

Isabella smiled seeing the scene. It has been a few weeks since their unexpected marriage and she is very very happy in her new life.

Sometimes, she wonders how she had turned out to be so lucky in life. She loves Sapphire and the little girl absolutely adores her. Her in laws loves her like their own daughter.

And her husband.

Benjamin Lockwood

He is the best thing that has happened to her in her entire life. He is so caring and understanding.

“How many times have I told you not to dip your finger in the batter” Isabella asked angrily as she slapped away his hand before he could dip his finger in the cake batter that she was preparing. Again.

“Sapphire wants to taste it” Benjamin told her defensively

“Yeah. Put all the blame on her” Isabella said rolling her eyes.

Benjamin’s idea had worked wonders. The red velvet cake she had made for their reception party was a huge hit among the guests and now Isabella is the most popular home baker in their social circle.

Orders had come to her in chunks from the very next day and Isabella is so very happy. And now she prefers this to opening her own bakery.

Being a home baker helps her in maintaining the balance between her passion and her married life.

“Whose order is this?” Benjamin asked as he sat on the kitchen island with Sapphire in his arms, who became preoccupied with playing with the pen in his pocket.

“Lawsons. Their grandson is turning six months tomorrow. I’m to make a cake in a half circle shape.” Isabella said and she poured the well beaten batter into the baking pan before keeping it in the oven.

“Well, we are also invited for the party. So you are going to get more orders” Benjamin said excitedly

“Here. Now you can have this” Isabella said and forwarded the bowl in which she mixed the batter, to Benjamin. There were still some batter sticking to the bowl and Benjamin happily had them, sharing it with Sapphire

“Yum yum” Sapphire said licking her lips making Benjamin and Isabella laugh.

“Come here. You have chocolate all over your face. Let me clean it” Isabella said

“Haww Isabella. How shameless. How can you say this in front of little Sapphire?” Benjamin asked with a mock scandalised look on his face.

“I’m talking about Sapphire ” Isabella said and quickly picked up the little girl from him and turned away, but her cheeks had already turned pink.

Benjamin laughed out loud.

Benjamin’s phone rang and he saw that it was a call from Gabriel, their legal advisor.

“Yes Gabriel?” He said as soon as he answered the question.

“Ben. There are some things to discuss. Can we meet?” Gabriel asked

“Sure Gabriel. I will meet you in the office tomorrow morning” Benjamin said and hung up after getting a response from Gabriel.

“I will give her a bath and put her to sleep.” Benjamin said as he took Sapphire from Isabella.

“I will finish the icing of the cupcakes by then” Isabella said.

“Bella. Where is my watch?” Benjamin yelled from the bedroom making Isabella roll her eyes.

“You go and see what he needs. I will manage the breakfast with Maddy” Elizabeth said and Isabella rushed to the bedroom.

“Bella. Where is my hard disk?” Came the next yell before Isabella reached the bedroom

“Stop shouting, will you?” Isabella asked angrily as she marched into the bedroom.

“What took you so long? How many times did I call you? Where is my watch?” He asked as kept his laptop in its bag.

Isabella walked towards the dressing table and took the watch and brought it close to his eyes.

“What are you doing?” Benjamin asked with a frown.

“This is your watch. It was right in front of you.” Isabella pointed out.

“I might have missed it while searching” Benjamin said as he took the watch and wore it.

“How did you do all your work before marriage?” Isabella asked in annoyance.

“You were not here back the ?” Benjamin said

“You mean, my only use is to do your work for you?” Isabella asked, with hands on her hips.

“What? When did I say that?” Benjamin asked in bewilderment

“That’s how it sounded”

“Trust a woman to twist the words and blame men” Benjamin muttered under his breath

“You said something?” Isabella asked narrowing her eyes at him.

“You heard something?” Benjamin asked cheekily making Isabella huff

“Well, did you see my hard disk?” Benjamin asked searching for it in the cupboard

“You took it to the study yesterday to upload some files into the system. Remember?” Isabella asked

“Oh yeah. What will I do without you Isabella Lockwood?” Benjamin asked pulling Isabella into a hug.

“Nothing. Nothing at all” Isabella answered making Benjamin laugh.

“Okay. Time for me to leave.” Benjamin said

“Will you come home for lunch?” Isabella asked

“I don’t think so. There is a meeting after eleven in the morning. I don’t know how long it will last. Also I have to meet Gabriel in the morning.” Benjamin said

“Okay” Isabella said sulkily

“If the meeting gets over early, I will call you. You bring lunch for us over to the office.” Benjamin said and Isabella nodded happily.

“And we can stop by my penthouse on the way back. I need to get some things from there.” Benjamin said

“What penthouse?” Isabella asked in confusion

“You don’t really think I still live with my parents, do you Bella?” Benjamin asked

“You don’t?” Isabella asked

“I’m twenty nine Bella. Ofcourse I do not stay with my parents anymore. I just moved back for Sapphire. Once we are completely settled with taking care of Sapphire, we will move back. Or maybe we can look into some properties. We can look for a villa with a backyard for Sapphire to play” Benjamin said

“Okay” Isabella nodded

“Take care sweetheart” Benjamin said and kissed her both cheeks before leaving.
