It seemed Philipo managed to locate the master of the 『Enhanced Demonic Insects』 before Lambert and had already engaged in a battle against him.

The light conjured from the tip of her cane turned into a spear of light, heading toward Lambert.

Lambert dodged the incoming spear of light by a paper-thin margin.

The spear of light stuck into the ground behind Lambert and vanished into the air. At that moment, a magic circle appeared right where it vanished, releasing an extremely brilliant light.

Lambert, who suddenly felt that he was about to be intoxicated, kicked the ground immediately.

Another three spears of lights appeared within Philipo’s barrier.

That spear of light would break upon impact, unleashing a spell that caused the mana in the surroundings to go into a state of chaos.

Philipo spread her arms as she spoke in exaggerated gestures.

Tears rolled down from beneath Philipo’s blindfold.

Even Lambert, who had his fill of various kinds of tragedies during the Eight Countries Unification War, was left speechless upon hearing Philipo’s speech.

「…Does that mean you’re going to prioritize torturing me and that man over there than the safety of the citizen of the holy city?」

Philipo cocked her head as if she didn’t understand what Lambert had said.

But she just swung her cane without even replying to Lambert.

Three spears of light rushed toward Lambert with speed incomparable to before.

Lambert moved out quickly from the range of the mana disturbance.

「Hah, that’s what you get for trying to talk about common sense with those lunatics. I won’t help you, but shall I create some chances for you? I’ll play with you after we take care of them.」

The youth spoke to Lambert.

Lambert turned his head, looking at Philipo, who stood behind him again.

There, he saw Philipo pointing her cane at Lambert’s back with a triumphant look on her face.

She conjured another spear of light.

Lambert ignored her and turned to the front again, pointing his greatsword at the youth before him.

The youth’s face warped lightly.

「…I don’t know where you get that fortitude of yours, but I know that you’re quite skilled. Don’t you know that you’re at a disadvantage if you keep fighting me? You’re going to regret this, you know?」

Lambert inched closer to the youth while keeping a tab on the spear of light behind him.

The moment he confirmed that the spear of light was fired, he dashed at once.

The insects that tried to coil themselves around him were knocked away by his simple rush.

The bodily fluids of the insects that were trampled spewed into the air.

Upon seeing Lambert’s rush, the youth was dumbfounded for a moment, but he fixed his stance immediately, preparing to receive Lambert’s rush.

「Protect me!」

The 『Enhanced Demonic Insects』 that were crawling around him gathered in front of the youth, forming a meat wall.

「HAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!」

But a wall like that was akin to a piece of paper for Lambert. He swung his greatsword, aiming to destroy both the youth and the wall.

The youth leaned forward at once.

The flesh of the torn insect got into his hair.

「Hah?」

The youth’s left arm suddenly fell to the ground, bisected right from his shoulder.

He realized that he failed to dodge Lambert’s slash.

「Y-you b*stard…」

The youth raised his face, glaring at Lambert.

At that moment, Lambert kicked the youth’s face with the weight of his Organ armor.

The youth was blown back like a bullet, blowing away the 『Enhanced Demonic Insects』 on his way and only stopping after his body sank into the wall.

「I have no regrets. I’m going to kill you before anyone can interfere.」

The youth stood up again even though his skull just got crushed by Lambert’s kick.

「Interesting, it seems that armour ain’t just for show. But too bad—I’m quite tough myself… I guess it’s time to go all out.」
