- Volume 2: Taking Back Heaven Chapter 24 Twenty Four: Alive
When we got there, what was before me made me angry. Two demons and a dark mage had two children hurdles into a corner.
“Well, we know it’s in this town! Tell me where to find it, or I’ll turn your stomach inside out.” The mage spoke, as the two demons stood eerily close to the two you kids.
Fear marred their features as they turned their faces from the ghastly demons. One of them was missing an eye, the other with rotten teeth. A dark wind cloud left the mage’s had, as she manipulated the force around the two, making them to stand upright. Her evil energy turned the air she manipulated pure black. It was as if I was looking into the darkness of her soul.
Not waiting to see what she would do next, I concentrated on my training, relaxing my mind as much as possible, and shooting a water bullet at the mage.
Before the bullet hits, another mage appears, using the earth to block my magic, the earth looking as black as the wind user’s magic. They’ve been tainted by my powers.
“I told you I could handle this,” the woman said, side eyeing her partner.
“Yeah, well, things were finally starting to look fun. Couldn’t let you have it all for yourself.”
“Whatever, we only need information. Don’t go killing people,” she warns him. She seemed uninterested in anything, not even caring when the two young children ran away.
“Right!” Comes his response, as he takes off, manipulating the earth under his feet as he ran. When he finally stopped running, he flipped off the darkened earth, sending a wave in Kota and I’s direction.
Countering, Kota sends a blast of water towards the middle of the earth wave, breaking it into pieces before it could hit. The dark mage seemed annoyed at this development.
“Rock is the strongest element there is. No way I’ll be outdone by some water punks,” he hisses in our direction.
“Remember, information Ikaru. If you kill them, I’ll kill you. I’m ready to get that stupid magic relic and leave this place.”
At that, my ears perk up. They’re looking for my relics, my magic.
“Blah blah. Whatever. Hey, water punks, do you know where that stupid magic relic is?”
“As if we’d tell you,” Kota responded with indigenous.
“We found the relic,” I heard an inhuman voice announce.
We all turned to look upon a rooftop of one of the buildings and what I saw nearly made me pass out.
It was Dan, standing above us all in a demonic form, alive.
If you can consider being a demon as having life.
